She can’t forget her taste of forbidden fruit no matter how hard she tries, so when Lyssa sees Theo again only once choice is possible because the secret she keeps from Theo could destroy any chance of a future together.
This second chance romance is a “Boom” of a story and has readers dancing to the beat of its vivid intensity. The characters are strong, captivating and easily draw readers into their emotionally gripping and heartwarming story. Due to the past and family interference, their relationship is on rocky ground throughout the story keeping emotions running high and flowing from the pages throughout but the chemistry sizzles and the attraction is undeniable which gives readers hope that this couple will be able to resolve their issues and reach for that happily ever after.
The plot takes place at a steady pace that builds the suspense of this romance perfectly as readers wonder if Lyssa can learn to open her heart and trust in the passion burns between her and Theo. This energetic story also has a fun side with quite a bit of charm so this moving romance resonates with readers and easily captivates their hearts as Theo and Lyssa are given a second chance.
Theo has always been the quiet partner at Flatiron Five, content to work in the background to make F5 a success, so it was great to get his story and see him step into the spotlight. As one of the stars of the new membership drive ad campaign, he couldn’t hide any more. Taking center stage in very public pop-up workout routines all over New York brings him to the attention of the city, social media, and one particular supermodel.
Lyssa is the woman who broke Theo’s heart when she walked away from their whirlwind relationship in college. She’s spent the last decade building a career as the top supermodel Angel. While she’s loved the travel, fashion, and friendships she’s made along the way, Lyssa thinks she’s finally in a good place financially to be able to retire and put down some roots in one place. She’s never forgotten about Theo, and New York City just might be the place to settle down if she can explain her actions and he can ever forgive her.
This was an emotional story where we find out about Theo and Lyssa’s past. While Theo has never stopped loving Lyssa, she needs a lot of convincing that love can really last. Sizzling romance and tender moments make this a wonderful addition to the series. It was also fun to catch up with the other members of F5 and see what they are all up to.
This was a very entertaining, well-written book. Lyssa and Theo met in college, then Lyssa disappeared. They’ve never forgotten each other. Eleven years later Lyssa is ready to re-enter Theo’s life. She has a secret to tell him, but maybe they can have one stolen night together first. This book can be read as a standalone story, though it is #6 in the Flatiron Five series. I enjoyed this book and look forward to reading more books by this author.
What a beautiful love story fraught with issues, love that knows no bounds, yet unable to trust because of family prejudices with evil people in positions to create more trust issues and a secret surprise from 11 years ago…but the F5 crew all pull together for all to see that trust and love is AWESOME and. Loved this book!!
I loved all the books in this series. So fabulous!
I loved every book in this series. Well written erotica
BAD CASE OF LOVING YOU is the fifth instalment in Deborah Cooke’s erotic, romance series focusing on the five friends-owners and proprietors of the exclusive Manhattan fitness club Flatiron Five-Tyler, Kyle, Damon, Cassie, and Theo. This is Theo Tremblay, and international model Lyssa Monroe’s story line. BAD CASE OF LOVING YOU can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information is revealed where necessary but I recommend reading the series in order for back story and cohesion.
Told from several third person perspectives including Lyssa and Theo BAD CASE OF LOVING YOU follows the second chance romance between Flatiron Five co-owner Theo Tremblay, and international model Lyssa Monroe. Approximately eleven years earlier, college sweethearts Lyssa and Theo’s relationship came to a screeching halt when our heroine changed directions in life opting for a career on the international stage. Fast forward to present day wherein Lyssa’s life is once again changing directions, a direction that brings her face to face with her past. Enter Flatiron Five co-owner Theo Tremblay. What ensues is the rekindling romance between Theo and Lyssa, and the potential fall-out as secrets from the past reveal much more than Theo could ever have imagined.
Tired of the travel, and hoping to settle down Lyssa Monroe heads to New York City, in an effort to reconnect with the man with whom she will fall in love but our heroine has secrets that when revealed will change the direction of Theo’s life. Theo Tremblay never understood why he wasn’t enough for the woman he loved. With little to no explanation Lyssa walked out of Theo’s life leaving a shell of the man he once was.
The relationship between Lyssa and Theo is one of second chances; a rekindling romance wherein Theo struggles to let go of Lyssa’s past betrayals, betrayals that will be reinforced when secrets are revealed. The $ex scenes are intimate and passionate, without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.
BAD CASE OF LOVING YOU is an ensemble story line with all of the previous story line couples playing secondary and supporting characters, as well as the appearance of tattoo artist Chynna. We are introduced to Lyssa’s PA Mercedes, her agent Justin, and ten year old Logan
BAD CASE OF LOVING YOU is a story of family, friendship, secrets and lies; of betrayal and heartbreak; second chances and falling in love. The premise is inviting; the romance is spicy and sexy; the characters are sassy and wounded. BAD CASE OF LOVING YOU is an animated look at rekindling love.
Deb crafts such a deep, rich story. She took my favorite trope, second chance, and my least favorite, secret baby, into an excellent, layered journey to growth and learning to trust. She brings the image of butterflies into this story and it’s perfect for the metamorphosis of Lyssa. She becomes so much more than the supermodel Angel.
Theo Tremblay is the last partner in the Flatiron Five series to get his story. We’ve always known this heart belonged to someone and he never got over it. Now we know what happened. At the start of this story, Theo the partner who shuns the spotlight has decided to stretch himself and step out. He and Kyle plan pop-up productions all over New York and San Francisco to push for more New Year’s memberships to their fitness clubs. This involves videos that each star in and compete with each other. This social activity media get’s Lyssa Monroe’s attention. She’s decided to retire from being the supermodel Angel at the top of her career and try to give her 10 year old son, Logan as normal a life as possible. She and Theo had a steaming HOT, passionate affair in college when she suddenly quit school and disappeared from Theo’s life, taking his heart with her. We find out in this story why she left and that she didn’t realize she was pregnant with when she left. She never found the courage to tell Theo and shielding Logan from the world to protect him. Now deciding to retire she determines to tell Theo about his son and build a life.
While are predictable moments in this story with telling Theo about Logan and with Angel’s management team, Deborah manages to bring us a story of Lyssa’s transformation from a person closed off to everyone but her son to finding she can trust others and that they will be there for her unconditionally. It is a story of growth, maturity, and learning to trust for Lyssa. Theo is the steadfast, solid and loyal man he’s been but has learned to be less background and to trust in himself to step forward. I so enjoyed seeing how these characters to work their own solutions to life’s challenges.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced readers copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Bad Case of Loving You, the sixth book in the Flatiron Five contemporary romance series was an absolute delight to read! Although we’ve known Theo for some time, I never really connected with him. He was always content to be a background guy, but here he proved to be playful and at the same time deep and insightful. His character came alive with the kind of intensity that makes you fall in love. And while Lyssa leaned toward a familiar character for this author, she had her own idiosyncrasies that brought new facets to the story while revealing the insecurities of us all. Deborah Cooke is a masterful story teller who flawlessly blends profound characters with settings that come to life and suck you in. I felt as if I had a part in the book, strolling down the streets of Manhattan, or attending the pop-up shows for F5. It was so much more than just Theo’s happily ever after!
