Kennedy and Grayson Legend became best friends at the age of 14, when Grayson tore the pocket off his t-shirt, for Kennedy to use on her bleeding lip. Both are children of abusive alcoholic fathers, though Kennedy’s is a wealthy attorney and Grayson’s is a bum. Then on her birthday, during summer break before Kennedy’s junior year in college, things changed. After she told him that she loved him, he walked out on her and would not return any of her phone calls.
Six years later, he is a top MMA fighter and she an interior designer. Her best friend from college, Sarah, takes her to Vegas for her birthday, surprising her with tickets to Legends fight. Sarah knows that Kennedy loves to watch the fights, but doesn’t know why. When Grayson sees her at his fight, he decides he is not going to let her go. But they both have secrets. Can Kennedy forgive Grayson for walking out on her and not listening to any of her calls? When Grayson finds out why, can he forgive her? Are they bound to hurt each other again, or find the feelings that made them best friends to begin with?
This is a well written story, with wonderful characters, dealing with very difficult situations. Most readers will figure out part of Kennedy’s secret before it is actually revealed, but that does not take away anything from the story.
Kennedy and Grayson were friends that came from dysfunctional families. They promised each other to always be there for each other but when Kennedy fell in love with her best friend and expressed her feelings, Grayson ran because he thought that he wasn’t good enough for her. Years later they reconnect in Vegas this time Grayson is determined to hold on to Kennedy. She has a secret one that could ruin their reunion, Has fate dealt them a second chance to get their happily ever after?
Wow!!! “Just One Regret” (nook) is a gripping tale. Intense emotions between Grayson and Kennedy. Their road to a HEA was full of angst, forgiveness and love. I cried through at least two of the chapters, maybe more, but the book was worth reading.
4.5 stars for Just One Regret by Stacey Lynn. This is book 3 in the Just One Sone Series. It can be read as a stand-alone. “I don’t say another word to the only man I’ve ever trusted enough to give my heart to….. and the only man who stomped all over it.” Grayson and Kennedy grew up together and where each other’s safe place. They where best friends until Kennedy’s feelings changed. They spend one- night together and everything changed. Now 6 years later Grayson is a star MMA fighter and Kennedy gets a big surprise when her friend gives her tickets to his fight. When they see each other, everything comes rushing back! What happens when all the secrets come to light? I loved every drama filled, torturous page of this store. I cried big fat ugly tears. I will say this was an epic read.
Not going to lie, I have mixed feelings about this book. I did enjoy the read, however, I felt like Grayson was so hot and cold. First off, he got so mad at Kennedy for a secret she had and I understand him being upset but I wanted to slap the crap out of him. How dare he act like such an A hole !! I wish Kennedy would have stood up to him more and told him off and made him work for it a little more…

Just One Regret by Stacey Lynn was the third book in the Just One series and can be read as a stand-alone. It was my first book by the author.
Grayson Legend was an MMA fighter known simply as the “Legend.” He never lost – we’ll rarely lost in his entire career to date. Fighting was his entire life. His way of leaving his horrific childhood behind. Unfortunately, he also left his best friend and true love behind as well.
Kennedy Knowles was a young interior designer working her way from the ground up. Nothing to celebrate yet, but her life was on track for a successful career. She dated but no one could stack up to her lost unrequited childhood love. One that shattered her heart and hadn’t looked back since.
Grayson and Kennedy unexpectedly crossed passed after six long years of silence. The story began here with Lynn providing both POV’s into their mind, emotions, heart and soul. The reunion was tense and explosive. And the storyline didn’t exactly take the expected path but Lynn did weave us through a maze of events and emotions. I read it straight through and was hooked from the beginning.
I was intrigued by Grayson from the start but not totally won over. He had to earn it. And I would be remiss in saying, what an asshole move by Grayson with “the big conflict.” No spoilers so no detailed elaboration, but Grayson had no right to his reactions. He was 100% to blame for that one. Lynn took us full circle but I wasn’t team Grayson on that move. But alas, there will be plenty who agree 100% with him – thus, the joy of diverse opinions!
Overall, it was a quick and entertaining read. I enjoyed the journey – and a journey it was. Lynn then took us through several years in the epilogue, so it was all well worth it. Sarah, Lynx and Landon now all need their own stories – and what stories they could tell.
I enjoyed the characters, and the writing
