Addison Murphy is the funny friend, the girl you grab a beer with–the girl voted most likely to start her own sweatshirt line. And now that one of her best guy friends is getting married, she’ll add “groomsman” to that list, too. She’ll get through this wedding if it’s the last thing she does. Just don’t ask her to dive for any bouquet. When Tucker Crawford returns to his small hometown, he … hometown, he expects to see the same old people, feel comfort in the same old things. He certainly doesn’t expect to see the nice pair of bare legs sticking out from under the hood of a broken-down car. Certainly doesn’t expect to feel his heart beat faster when he realizes they belong to one of his best friends.
If he convinces Addie to give him a chance, they could be electric…or their breakup could split their tight-knit group in two.
Hiding the way he feels from the guys through bachelor parties, cake tastings, and rehearsals is one thing. But just as Tucker realizes that Addie truly could be the perfect woman for him–he was just too stupid to realize it–now she’s leaving to follow her own dreams. He’s going to need to do a lot of compromising if he’s going to convince her to take a shot at forever with him–on her terms this time.
Each book in the Getting Hitched series is STANDALONE:
* Just One of the Groomsmen
* Always a Bridesmaid

The cover caught my attention. The blurb drew me in. However, it was the story itself that stole my heart. Madsen has a way with words. Yes, I always love her characters, but it’s the dialogue that adds to the charm. Laughter is a given, however it’s the heart that hides behind the words that does me in every time. We’ve all been in Addison or Tucker’s shoes. Struggling with uncertainty, fighting our way through emotions and come to terms with change. That’s what makes Madsen so marvelous, she blends pieces of reality with a hint of fairytale magic and scores heartwarming gold.
What a great start to the new Getting Hitched in Dixie Series, if Just One of the Groomsman is anything to go by this will certainly be a series you will want to read.
Addie is just one of the guys as she is the only girl in the small group that have grown up together so when one of them announces he is getting married it makes sense for her to be one of the groomsman problem is the future bride wants her as a maid of honour ….. Addie in a bridesmaid dress is not what she expected or really wants but she goes along with the plan to keep everyone happy. Tucker and Addie have always been the closest of this tight nite group but he left to become a hotshot lawyer in the city … but now he’s back and has even quit his job to move back to his hometown. You are going to need to read the book to see what happens next.
This box ticked all my boxes , friends to lovers, small town romance, the perfect mix of love and humour as well as adorable characters. The banter between this group flows naturally as does the story and I can’t wait to see who story is next. Must read for all romance lovers
“Damn, how could he resist such a solid Star Wars reference? Not that he wouldn’t make her work a little harder for it. “What’s in it for me?”
She made an offended noise. “You get to hang out with yours truly,…”
I LOVED Tucker and Addie so much! Their back and forth was so genuine, you could see/feel their connection as friends from the start. It was fun to see when they started thinking about their normal responses having a sexual or flirtation undertone. They way Tucker tries so hard to keep his feeling for Addie in check is both admirable and real, you can see from his past why Addie’s friendship is so important to him. He doesn’t want to skew it up and loose her, I felt so drawn to these too I kept reading wondering how they would figure it all out. It is a romance, so I am not giving spoilers away. Seeing them struggle with everyday things, from crappy jobs, to money issues made the story more real. For you animal lovers there is a really cute puppy in this book that will have you laughing and going “oh no!” a lot.
This book will have you turning pages and confusing your e-reader on reading speed. I highly recommend you grab this book ASAP and curl up in your reading spot to enjoy it!

5 Star Review of One of the Groomsmen (Getting Hitched in Dixie #1) by Cindi Madsen
Cindi Madsen is a new author to me and I have no idea why that is. I loved this book. From chapter one until the end the story that Ms.Madsen wove had me thoroughly entertained and captivated.
When Tucker Crawford return to his small hometown the last thing he expects is to be attracted to one of his best friends Addison Murphy.
Can Tucker convince Addie to give him a chance? The chemistry is electrifying and the air sizzles when they are together but will it be enough for these two friends to cross the invisible line? Will they take a chance that could destroy not only their friendship but those around them forever?
The writing was strong and the story flowed well. This is an author I will be reading again as soon as possible.
What a great feel story. Tucker and Addie are best friends who are starting to see each other in a different light. This was my first Cindi Madsen book and I really enjoyed it. I love how all the characters were friends and got along. I loved the dynamics of a bunch of guys and one girl all being best friends and not treating each other differently due to gender. This group is fiercely protective of each other and will do anything for each other. A really fun romance book.
This is one of those small southern town, everybody knows your business ’cause all they have to do is go to the town gossip, Mrs. Lottie, feel good stories. Even the Southern conversations are written correctly. I know, because I’m from the South and that’s exactly how I talk. I just love authenticity! It’s a quick read, the pages filled with laugh out loud antics and some truly gut wrenching moments. Grandma Nonna is a hoot! Take a trip to Uncertainty, Alabama and fall in love with the townsfolk there. If you’re a fan of Cindi Madsen you can’t miss out on this one and if you’ve never read any of her work “Just One of the Groomsmen” is the perfect one to start with!
Thank you to NetGalley and Entangled Publishing for providing me an arc to review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

First off this was an amazing book and I highly recommend it. This is my first book by this author and I was not disappointed. It was a little hard for me to get into at the beginning, but I kept at it and ended up loving it way more than I thought I would. Addie and Tucker and amazing and so perfect for one another. I felt like I was on an emotional roller-coaster and found myself laughing (out loud) and even crying at certain parts. I struggled to find a connection with Addie at first, but as she slowly started to embrace her girlishness, I started to like her more. I wish the book could go on forever and would love for there to be more books to follow this group of friends… or even a follow up with Addie and Tucker.
Friends to lovers is one of my favorite tropes. I love the drama of the will they, won’t they. I love the uncertainty. Addie and Tucker’s journey is one of my absolute favorites. I loved how they talked to each other and did constant check ins that this was what they wanted. But the journey wasn’t without its bumps and that kept me glued to the story.
I felt every emotion that Addie and Tucker felt and was immediately rooting for them. Their friendship was my favorite part of their story and watching it grow was amazing!! This story was like all of my favorite romantic movies rolled into one book!! I’m absolutely in love with these characters and this town. I NEED this to be a series so I can visit all of them again and get to know them better.

I really enjoyed this story! Cindi Madsen is a new to me author & I will be reading more by her. I love her breezy way of writing & conveying emotion without being heavy handed. She managed to perfectly describe their bunch of friends & express the feelings of family that I sensed about them. It really illustrated the guilt they both felt about possibly crossing the line & if it would change the groups dynamics. What I loved the most was the relationship that developed between Lexi & Addison. Lexi started out with the bewilderment & suspicion that most women would have felt. The trust she gave to both Shep & Addison really moved me. It would have been easier to demand that Addison not be part of the wedding. This book was completely about relationships & the emotions they put you through.
Addison is the perfect tomboy fitting in with the rest of her gang. She’s just “one of the guys”. She loves the town she lives in & being there for her friends & family. She really loves her career, just not where she works. She’s stuck in a rut in all ways, including dating. Living in a small town limits the number of single eligible men that she is exposed to.
Her best friend & conspirator, Tucker, just moved back into town. After law school, he’d taken a job with a big firm & ended up disillusioned & burnt out. After quitting, he moved back & looked at Addison with new eyes. Should he make a move or respect the lines that have always been unconsciously drawn? After what happened between his parents, Tucker didn’t want anything serious until he was in a certain financial status. Doesn’t he know love never strikes when you’re ready for it?
This is my first book by Cindi Madsen, and it definitely won’t be my last. Addie, Tucker, Shep, Easton and Ford have been friends for most of their lives in the little town of Uncertainty Alabama. When Shep calls an emergency meeting of his friends, he announces that he is getting married to his girlfriend sexy Lexi. He asks his friends to be his groomsmen, including just one of the guys Addie. While Addie prefers yoga pants and tennis shoes over a dress and heels, she agrees to be apart of her friends wedding. Tucker has been living in the big city working as a lawyer. He is miserable and decides to chuck it all and move back to Uncertainty. Feeling untethered with life, he is thrown for a further loop when the set of legs he is ogling, turn out to be attached to his best friend Addie. Both of them fight their burgeoning attraction and need to get past their own insecurities to get to their happily ever after. I loved all of these characters and their unique friendship. This is definitely a great start to a new series. I was given an ARC of this book from NetGalley for my honest review.
I absolutely loved this book! The chemistry was off the charts and the descriptive writing had me feeling like I was an actual part of the gang.
There was humor, drama and small town nostalgia that created the perfect backdrop to Tucker and Addie’s relationship! I highly recommend this standalone!
This was the first book by Cindi Madsen that I have read, but it won’t be the last. Tucker, Shep, Ford, Easton and Addie had been best friends forever. When Shep announces he is getting married and he wants everyone to be his groomsmen, everyone is thrilled, although Addie will have to stand with the bride, wear a dress and heels, something she detests. Tucker, who had left to work for a law firm in the city, realizes how much he is missing out on life, especially as he hates his job. Coming into town, Tucker sees the most gorgeous pair of legs poking out from under a broken down car and is shocked to see they belong to Addie, but this sends Tucker’s mind into overdrive and he can’t stop thinking about Addison. Slowly, their friendship shifts into something more and they have to decide if they’re going to cross that line. I love that Addie and Tucker have a deep friendship and their chemistry is hot. The story kept a good pace and the writing makes you want to invest in the characters and their lives. The book is well written, flows with an ease that makes you feel like you could be part of the story and with lots of humor throughout, ;it makes an ideal rom-com.
