Stand-alone Crossroads romance, complete with HEA–and plenty of heat and heart along the way! Leah Porter is tired of the carousel of a-holes she’s been riding for years. It does nothing but go round and round in circles, and she’s ready to get off. She’s made a resolution, and she plans to stick to it–no more dating anyone she’s attracted to. If she meets a guy with tattoos, muscles, a … she meets a guy with tattoos, muscles, a motorcycle, and seriously amazing hands…that would be her first sign to pass him by.
When she meets Lance Taylor, he checks all of those boxes, plus a few more she hadn’t even thought of. Yep, full body tingles, lightheadedness, and weak knees had to be the second sign.
Right?
Lance Taylor knew one thing for sure–if he was attracted to a woman, that meant she was bad news. He didn’t know how, and it might be months before he found out, but it never failed. If he felt something for a woman, it meant there was something seriously wrong with her.
Leah Porter seems different, and not just because of her pink hair and pinup curves. Everything about her tells him that she’s not like anyone he’s ever met before. But trusting that means trusting himself, and that’s not something he’ll ever do.
For the pink-haired pinup and the motorcycle man, is love enough to overcome the past and give them a future?

Everything Melanie Shawn is rock solid gold and this book is another example of just how great these authors truly are!!!
Another great book by Melanie Shawn. It’s in a series, but you can read it as a stand-alone without any problems. Take 2 people who have been burned by love, but have an instant attraction to each other, and place them in each other’s paths. This book will take you on a ride where Leah and Lance are fighting their attraction. The storyline flows as we watch these two realize what they could have together. There is also a bit of a mystery about Lance’s past that Melanie Shawn does a great job of leading us up to the big reveal. Avid Melanie Shawn readers will love the trip to Hope Falls, where we run into some familiar friends from books past. Dual point of view. No cliffhanger.
Wonderful addition to the Crossroads series and loved the cross over to Hope Falls. Leah is a fantastic character, extremely well developed. And I loved Lance and his extreme protector instinct. They were perfect for each other, and perfect together.
Lance and Leah have become one of my new favorite couples. It’s love at first sight a and then the fun begins. It is wonderful story of two people who couldn’t be more different. Pink hair girl and tattooed, motorcycle riding bad boy will capture your heart and make you want to read it all over again.
I absolutely loved reading about Leah! We got a glimpse of her in her twins book but she’s quite a character. In this book we meet Lance also. They are both such great characters. As a reader we can see the instant connection. The push and pull in the story makes you want to yell at them and say come on already. Asking loved the fact that we see previous characters. Great book 5 star read!
A bad girl, who doesn’t want to date any more bad boys, meets a bad boy, who knows every woman he meets is bad for him. Of course they are perfect for each other. This was a fun book to read around the holidays. Both Leah and Lance are strong, independent personalities that are afraid to trust and love. I loved this book! Their chemistry is amazing and I loved seeing all the Crossroads characters. A great read.
Leah and Lance….love this story
Oh man, talk about sexy and HEA. This book has it all.
Leah is a beautiful co-owner of a grooming salon with her twin sister. Leah has always been the “wild” one of the two. She has recently decided that she needed to “grow up” which would include calming her wild ways and swearing off sexy tattooed motorcycle riding guys.
Lance is a tattooed, motorcycle riding sexy God. Unfortunately, he also has a past that he is not proud of and still struggles with every day. Lance came to town to see his grandparents and get to know more about his dead father. Women are not on his list of things to do.
Leah walks into the mud room and see’s the one thing she has sworn off of. A sexy tattooed motorcycle riding sex God. Oh, how she would love to “ride” him. Lance is also shocked and speechless the first time he lays eyes on the very sexy and beautiful Leah.
Lance is there to rent the shop upstairs from Leah’s shop. Once the owner of the building leaves with Lance, Leah has no intention on going upstairs to see more of Lance.
But what happens when her twin sister Bea offers up her old room in Leah’s apartment to someone in need? Lance!
Both Lance and Leah know him staying there isn’t a good idea, but Lance is in need of a place to stay for the week and Leah is always willing to help out.
You will read about how Lance and Leah learn to heal and find love.
This story has the laughs, cries and overall good feeling with a swoon worthy HEA.
Action packed, emotionally thrilling, sexy and fun romantic adventure filled with engaging charters, witty dialog, heart racing twists and undeniable passion…. was a great read. Really enjoyed this exciting journey.
another winner by my favorite duo <3 <3
Leah and Lance’s love story in Just One Look book fifteen in the Crossroads series by the amazing duo of Melanie Shawn makes another perfect match. Leah Porter is tired of all the jerks she been dating, they are either cheaters or egomaniacs. She knows she needs to look for a man without tattoos, muscles, or a motorcycle; as that’s her type of guy and not one has been Mr. Right. When she meets Lance Taylor she knows she’s in trouble; he who not only does he check all her usual boxes but her body tingles and becomes aware of him if he’s nearby. Lance has learned that if he attracted to a woman that means she is the wrong one for him. At least until he meets Leah; she is different from anyone he has ever met before. Lance struggles with trusting himself, let alone anyone else, because of his checkered past. He is the first man to truly see and understand Leah. Lance sees she is more than the tough girl she portrays and deserves the love of a good man. Now Lance needs to believe he is capable of deserving Leah and her love.
Melanie Shawn wrote a wonderful and moving story romance that should not be missed. She provided a tale rich with emotions, sexual chemistry, humor, wonderful dialogue, and endearing characters giving Leah and Lance a chance at a forever love. I highly recommend Just One Look to other readers.
I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.
Just One Look is another installment of Melanie Shawn’s Crossroads series, which has been so great!
Leah Porter is determined to start over and to stay away from the type of guys she’s normally been attracted to; the bad boy type who are tattooed and generally ride a motorcycle. You know what they say about best laid plans… As soon as Leah makes this promise to herself, Lance Taylor comes riding into town having every characteristic that she’s trying to avoid!
Lance has come to town to see his grandmother who is recovering from surgery. He’s only planning to stay a short time, but while he’s there, he also wants to learn about his father. He’s had his fair share of rough times in his past, but you figure out really quickly that he’s a great guy.
Sparks fly between Leah and Lance from the very beginning. Watching how their love grows and unfolds with all of the things they go through is awesome. They both have some baggage, but they are definitely stronger together.
This was another great read and Melanie Shawn never fails to give us a story that is engaging, romantic and fun. Can’t wait for the next one!
When I read the blurb for this book I knew it would be great, it was great and then some. I really loved meeting Lance and getting to know more about Leah. I enjoyed her fascination with her ‘murder shows’, I’m the same way and I liked how she started changing in little ways for Lance. As for Lance, amazing hottie who cooks and cleans and has many other talents, yes please. This was a really great story and I did like that both Lance and Leah both got closure in different ways, Lance with his past and Leah with her own issues from her past. Really liked seeing our friends again especially Grandpa J and I totally fell in love with Nonna and her calling Leah, ‘Fancy Face” from Days of our Lives. I grew up watching Days of our Lives and that along all the other pop culture references mentioned, just makes this one more reason I love reading a Melanie Shawn book. The ending was great and I can’t wait to see what happens next for these two great people. The line I loved in this story was, ‘And I know that you should never settle for anyone less than someone who makes you blush and takes your breath away.’ I do have to say however I am curious with the next book coming up in January with Leo and Jasmine, can’t wait. Thank you to Melanie Shawn for another great story!
Leah’s story is finally here! I’ve loved what I’ve seen of her in previous books and her own story is everything I hoped for. She definitely meets her match in Lance, the intense newcomer in town.
The story is told with Melanie Shawn’s usual small town charm, driven by recognizable and likable characters.
Leah and her twin sister own a pet grooming store. Even though they are identical twins they are so different in their personalities. (I think it would be fun to have a twin!) Leah is curvy, says what she thinks, and likes bad boys who have tats and rides motorcycles. She hasn’t had much luck with those type guys lately so she decides to give them up and date boring men. Of course when she runs into Lance in the laundry room at her business her body starts buzzing. You guessed it, he is everything she is trying to stay away from. Leah is Lance’s perfect woman, but he isn’t staying long in town so he is determined to stay away from her. A last, the romance gods have different ideas.
I admired Leah on her self image and how she said what she thought and didn’t play games. I felt bad for Lance because of what happened when he was young, and blamed himself for things that wasn’t his fault. I thought the two of them together were made for each other. Sometimes the path to love is full of ups and downs. Once you come together though it is worth everything that happened. I loved the book and strongly encourage you to read it. I was given a copy of the book and voluntarily wrote a review.
Get ready for Lance and Leah! This was my first read from this series, but I enjoyed it so much that I can’t wait to go back and read the previous books! Coming into this series so far into it, I definitely felt I was missing a little bit of information and background story, but overall this book can absolutely be read as a stand-alone. Per usual from this author, the storyline was typical yet unique with Lance’s background and his connection to the series and the town. Another unique aspect was the comparison between the twins since the previous book was Leah’s twin’s story, and how in the beginning of the book they compare the personalities between them. I loved the suspense that the storyline provided and the back and forth with this couple sometimes made me want to scream, but thankfully they work out their issues and they get their HEA!
I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
