“You make me want to dream about love again.”
As a reader it’s a pleasure to see a writer grow with each book. Maria La Serra delivers with “Just One Look” a story with different characters that find comfort, love and redemption in each other. Jack and Victoria are really against each other but when reading the little moments, I could feel the intensity of their connection. Clean romance, characters seeking redemption and deep love is the hallmark that characterizes each book by Maria La Serra. I can’t wait to read the next book in this series.
This is the 2nd book I’ve read written by Maria La Serra; she has done a great job at writing a good book; I will definitely be reading more of her books.
The story line caught my attention at the very beginning and kept me interested throughout the entire book.
I loved the chemistry between the characters.

Just One Look is an endearing, clean romance about two people who find themselves wanting each other.
Victoria is an ambitious woman who works a variety of odd jobs to make ends meet and trying to save up to start her own caterer service. She meets Jack when she is working as a bartender, and it’s hate at first sight for Victoria. He works at a law firm and she despises lawyer in general and she takes an instant dislike to his charming persona. For Jack, it took just one look for him to know he wanted to get to know Victoria better, and he continues to pursue her even though Victoria keeps on pushing him away. As time goes by, he starts to reveal more of his true self to Victoria, and she realizes there is more to him than what he does for a living.
It’s a quick, fun, mostly light but also heartfelt read that contains some sweet, sexy moments but is a wholly clean book.

I absolutely loved everything about this book except for Victoria’s dad and her roommate Scarlett. Her dad is a vindictive jerk and her mom had good intentions on keeping her away from him. Scarlett honestly drove me nuts with her neediness and her ability to guilt trip Victoria. She is the complete opposite of Victoria in every way possible. I’m also glad that the date with Jack was a joke.
Anyway back to Jack and Victoria. I loved how these two interacted together. There was so much tension between them. I mean Victoria tried so hard to prove she wasn’t interested but she broke down all of Jack’s walls without even knowing it. She pushed and pushed until he cracked. Jack was a saint. He knew Victoria was the one to break his dry spell and keep the charm up. He was a charmer but he also had a side that not many people saw. He let Victoria in after tragedy happened. These two especially Victoria tried to fight it so hard but it was to hard. He romanced her and showed her a different side to him. I laughed and swooned so many times in this book. It was everything I love in a book.
Just One Look by Maria La Serra is book Two in The One Love Series. This is the story of Jack Turner and Victoria Fairfax. I have read the previous book but feel you can make this a standalone book if you wish to do so.
Victoria is a hard working women who works several jobs to make money so that one day she can open her own cratering business. Victoria also volunteers at the local children’s hospital. What she doesn’t like is lawyers who she has a past issue with. When she is at a job workings as a bartender she ends up being saved by Jack when someone gets interoperate. Jack knows pretty quickly that Victoria is someone he wants to know and be with but Victoria isn’t getting on board with that.
Enjoyed reading their story.
Just One Look is an endearing, clean romance about two people who find themselves running into each other again and again. Victoria is a young woman who works a variety of odd jobs to make ends meet, while also volunteering at the local children’s hospital. The banter in this book is great; it’s easy to feel the chemistry between the two characters. I also loved the connections that were discovered later in the book, making it feel as though despite the differences in their ages, lifestyles and personalities, they have more commonalities than they could imagine. There was one subplot that I didn’t love, because it didn’t paint Jack in a very flattering light, and I was also unsure of his motives for much of the book. It’s a quick read, so I felt like either that particular subplot should’ve been eliminated or fleshed out some more, because it just complicated the story (you’ll know it when you read it). Other than that, there is a lot to like about the book. It’s a quick, fun, mostly light but also heartfelt read that contains some sweet, sexy moments but is a wholly clean book.

After reading and enjoying the first book in the series I could not wait to read this one and what a super read it was I enjoyed it even more than the first book. I just loved Jack and Victoria they were just great together both have their baggage but together they start to heal I just loved that she called him out and did not put up with any of his rubbish. This was a good well-written read and I would recommend it.
I have to say that this book blew me out of the water. I really enjoyed the first book in this series, The One & Only, but this book hooked me even more! I loved watching Victoria call Jack out on all his crap, and that she made him be vulnerable with her. I also enjoyed that Jack did the same with her. They were both broken souls at the beginning of the book, and I loved that they were able to put each other back together!
The lawyer and the wannabe caterer.
Victoria is working as a bartender to open her catering company.
Jack is a lawyer, pretty shallow and vain.
He makes a decision to help her father and not Victoria.
Three months pass without him doing anything to make amends.
Will he get a clue?

This is a lovely romance story. I love a slow burn love story and that’s what I got with this book.
I really enjoy it when it’s the male lead that’s surer than the female, about their relationship. The little dance Jack and Victoria do; the push and pull, is definitely something that kept me turning the pages.
Victoria seemed a bit downtrodden to me and I really wanted to make her look after herself for a change, she really is a selfless, lovely girl. Jack is confident and so cheeky that I was in love with him from the beginning.
The story has some misunderstandings that I didn’t see coming but overall it is a really fun story. I think there could be a bit more drama between Victoria and her father to provoke more emotions but this is still a fabulous addition to the series.
