Crag had lost his mate and had not recovered because she knew she wasn’t he true mate. The Queen was tired of him moping around so sent him to earth to spend time with her wayward son and his mouthy earthling wifemate. Ellie was a neighbor to the Queens son and Crag’s best friend. And even though Crag couldn’t understand what Keller saw in the puny earthling that he could hardly tolerate, the earthling Ellie intrigued him. This exciting and interesting story of Crag and Ellie leads them through two planets and obstacles at every turn as they finagle their way to their HEA. Good read

This was interesting. Not in a bad way, but in a way that was…heartwarming and compelling. Losing his life partner (who wasn’t his life mate) was just… Wow. Ms. Roarke wrote Crag’s loss, his depression, his survivor’s guilt so well. My heart ached for him. I wanted Sybille back if just to make him happy, but if she hadn’t died he wouldn’t have met his life mate.
A self-imposed exile to earth to visit his good friend and his life mate brings him into Ellie’s world. The attraction is intense, more than it was with Sybille, but one he doesn’t really want to act on because she is, after all, just a puny human. So why can’t he stop thinking about her? Why can’t he stop trying to catch a glimpse of her?
Coming to Ellie’s rescue gave them a night of passion neither would forget but that both knew wouldn’t go further than that one night. Or would it?
A life changing event brings them full circle, but is it duty over heart? Familiarity over the adventure of a lifetime? Obligation over love?
I didn’t read the first story; I might have to to really understand this world. What I read in Crag’s story is beautiful yet different. The depth and breadth of emotions, desires, and feelings were so well written it was almost easy to forget it’s a story. I wanted to know more, experience the story with the characters. I wanted a happily ever after for both Crag and Ellie; they deserved it after so much hardship and tragedy.

Chocolate and hot men. A girls dream. This was a fabulous fresh story. Settle in and get comfortable ladies. You aren’t going to want to put this one down until you turn the last page. Can’t wait for the next.

This is a wonderful story! I couldn’t put it down. I couldn’t wait to see what happened to Crag and Ellie. I can’t wait to read more stories in this world.
Crag is The Commander who has been ordered to take some time after losing his life partner. He goes to see his friend on Earth. He never expected to see or meet Ellie. Ellie just found out some horrible news when she meets Crag. He helps her out but she knows that it is only for one night. She never expected to see him again. Will they be able to make something work for them?

The story line was good, the character work was terrific, and the book had a smooth flow to it. This is the first book by this author that I’ve read, but it won’t be the last.

Entertaining alien romance. Crag, an alien, lost a mate but not his destined mate, but he is still distraught over it and feels guilt. He goes to Earth to get away for a bit; he stays with alien Keller and his human mate, Gabrielle, who now live on Earth. Crag doesn’t think too highly of puny humans, but Keller’s next door neighbor, Ellie, is attracting Crag’s attention. Crag doesn’t want to fall for a human, but there’s an intense pull towards her. These two have some issues to deal with. Good passionate connection between Ellie and Crag. Crag is a nice alien, and Ellie is okay for the most part. I wasn’t a fan that she was so sappy about her ex, but then she hopped right up on Crag. Didn’t give me a good impression of her standards for herself, and it’s gross that there wasn’t a clear idea of a certain something in her life. Don’t want to spoil anything, so I won’t go into detail. I’m not a total fan of these aliens; it’s pretty stupid to let some archaic scrolls dictate people’s happiness and let some social climber have any power in anything. Plus, why have a queen if she doesn’t have much power. Still enjoyed all the alien aspects though. Overall, a fun, sexy alien romance!
Crag is from the planet Tiburon and sad over losing his life partner. He goes to Earth for a visit with his best friend, Keller, and Keller’s human mate, Gabrielle. He ends up meeting their neighbor, Ellie Granger, defending her against her disgusting boyfriend. He and Ellie spend a passionate night together but realize it can’t continue, although they won’t tell each other the reason. Is Ellie his destined true life mate? Is she possibly willing to be Crag’s mate on Tiburon? Would Crag give up his sworn duty as Tiburon’s Commander for an Earthling?
Crag and Ellie have definite chemistry. Are they willing to walk away from what seems like the HEA they both need? Grab your copy and see what is holding them back!
This second book in the series compensates for the flaws in the first. Crag may not be the badass he appears to be as he has his own epiphany regarding his life mate and he is still grieving the loss of his partner. Ellie has worked hard to leave behind her illegitimate and lower socio-economic upbringing. Her boyfriend offers her a position as his mistress, not his wife. After a night of hot sex, he returns home. The Lena part of the story was over done but she’s only an annoyance and not one of the main characters. The sex scenes were not too graphic and the emotional connections are well written. I don’t know if reading the first book adds anything except to help understand Crag better.

Be open to second chances! Crag, depressed after losing his partner, Sybille. She wanted children, he didn’t. He exiles himself to earth hoping to clear his heart and mind. He is obligated, as the Commander to produce an heir, just not yet, eh? Gabrielle, his best friend Keller’s life partner teases him over his interest in her neighbor. He appreciates Keller’s life on earth, but he wants to return to Tiberon. He meets the neighbor he’s been ogling, Ellie. He ends up defending her from her ex. They have a night. They both consider it the best night, ever! He wonders if she is his true life mate. Will she consent to be his life mate? Will she move to Tiberon? What complication with the puny earthling cause? Nice story. Good flow. Creative drama. Nicely done! I received an ARC from Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
