Every day, my neighbor tells me to have a good morning.Every day, I tell him to f*ck off. Kyle Lane is the town’s hottest cop. He’s also the man I’ve despised since high school. Each morning, he stands on his porch with an annoying smirk on his perfect face. He’s made it his life’s mission to get under my skin. Until one day, he’s no longer on his porch but on mine. He claims he wants to redeem … mine.
He claims he wants to redeem himself for ruining my reputation.
My instincts tell me to stay away, but with each morning he shows up, it becomes harder and harder to resist his charm.
I was never supposed to fall in love with my neighbor and once he finds out my secret, we’ll forever be enemies.
(An enemies to lover romance.)

A friends to lovers story that may be my favorite of this series!! Kyle is a character I adored, but this story made him more of a favorite. You will laugh, sigh and swoon with all the turns this story takes. This is one I could not put down and would highly recommend. You will definitely keep turning pages needing to know the ending.
Chloe and Kyle are neighbors and enemies. Their story unfolds slowly and reveals many side plots going on in this book. The bad blood between them began in school and Chloe has good reason not to trust Kyle. One day Kyle ends up on her doorstep wanting to repair things between them. Will Chloe be able to forgive the past? Can Kyle get her to open up to him? A good enemies to lovers romance.
So I honestly thought this was just gonna be a cute love/hate story with two people who fall madly in love with each other. While it has this, it has so much more that I wasn’t expecting. You have this perfect image of Kyle. He’s the town’s golden boy, the perfect family and all around player. His life is anything but this. It shows that even if you have all this, you still have your problems and boy does his family have some skeletons in their closet. Kyle is a sweetheart. He does everything to make Chloe smile. Sure she has a hatred for him but it just pushes him more to be sweet. Chloe, sweet Chloe. Boy did my heart break for her over and over again in this book. She grew up poor with no real hope but she pushed thru the ugly and made a name for herself. She still has to deal with the bullshit of her sister but she gets rewarded with time with her niece and nephew who she loves dearly. Her sister is piece of work. I have zero respect for that woman..none whatsoever. What a horrible, evil, vile woman. Anyway, I loved Chloe. She was a fireball. You could just feel her hatred towards Kyle but also watch it melt as she learned the truth and really got to know him. This story consumed me and I couldn’t put my kindle down. I mean the twists and turns, the tears flowed down my face and I laughed hard. I loved every minute of it. Kyle and Chloe complete each other despite growing up in different side of the tracks.
This book was a roller coaster of emotions! I laughed, sighed, growled, & cried. I enjoyed watching Kyle & Chloe become friendlier, and later when they became more. I’m so glad that even though their relationship was tested (many, many times) that they were able to overcome it and be together.
First read by this author but I think I will read more in this series of books.
The tragedy almost did me in, but the romance was funny and sweet.
Let me start off by saying, holy-freaking-cow-i-loved-this-book-so-much! This is the first book I have ready by Charity Ferrell, and I’m so upset I didn’t know about her until now. Ugh. I’m also upset I didn’t read Just Ex’s first, lol.
Chloe absolutely despises her neighbor, Kyle. They really do have a love/hate relationship. I like her ‘don’t mess with me’ attitude. She doesn’t let anyone walk all over her and doesn’t depend on anyone but herself. She learned that when she was young. I loved her determination and her spirit. And I absolutely loved the way she cared for her niece and nephew.
Kyle knows Chloe hates him, and he understands why. There was a huge misunderstanding in high school and he doesn’t blame her for hating him. Knowing this, he still messes with her every chance he gets. He loves their banter, and pretty much asks for it on a daily basis. I loved him. I loved how funny he was, how he talked to Chloe, how he loved his family beyond words, how he stood up for his friends. He may appear as a jerk but its all for show, he actually has a heart in there.
There were twist and turns in this book that I did not expect. And boy did I love them. It made the book more real and made me fall in love with it that much more. There is hate, love, sexy times and sadness (again, that I was not expecting). This book has it all, and you should definitely give it a go. It excellent and I will continue to read her work. Amazing
This is the first book by Charity Ferrell that I’ve read but I have to say, hands down, it was a fantastic introduction to a new to me author!!
Just Neighbors was funny, engaging, definitely hot and it had a couple of interesting and sadly relevant themes running through it that for me, made it overwhelmingly sad and at times more than just a little heartbreaking!
I loved Chloe. She was loyal, hard working, loved her niece and nephew with all of her being and for someone who had the upbringing she had she was remarkably balanced and incredibly strong.
I really liked Kyle. Without doubt, what he did as a teen was pretty shitty, but he set out to prove to his neighbour that he wasn’t the same as he’d been when he was young and I liked that he was determined to break though Chole’s walls to get her to give him a chance. There was one time that I really felt the need to virtually smash him in the face with how he acted and what he said to our heroine but, that asides, he was a good guy.
As ever, I started this series back to front… nothing new there….. but I’m definitely gonna go back and visit the other couples in the Blue Beech series soon.
A solid 5* read IMO and one I’d happily recommend.
Wanna know something interesting? Well, interesting may be a stretch *winks*, but you know me, I love a good overshare – don’t say I didn’t warn you *smirks*
Having a crying jag when you have sinusitis is not a pretty thing to behold – tears, snot (so much snot *sniggers*), choking *wafts hand*… you catch my drift.
I did not see that coming… I feel emotionally spent.
Anyway, I digress. Let me start at the beginning.
Charity Ferrell is a new-to-me-author of 2019, and although this is book 4 in the Blue Beech series, it can easily be read as a standalone. I’ve been having words with myself about why I haven’t picked up this series before *snorts* As you would expect, I didn’t get any suitable answers!
I love a good enemies-to-lovers romance and I really enjoyed Chloe and Kyle’s story. I just didn’t expect to feel as if I’d been hit in the solar plexus – emotionally speaking. You all know what I’m like by now #Imnotcryingyouare
You can take the girl outta the trailer park, but, beware, peeps ain’t gonna let you forget it. Chloe Fieldgain has battled all her life to show the residents of Blue Beech that she is more than the sum of her upbringing. Chloe is succeeding at this thing called life in spite of everything. Well, almost everything… finding love is another thing entirely. An incident involving her hot AF neighbour (now a cop, no less – one word: uniform) in high school has left her with trust issues.
The Lane family is one of Blue Beech’s elite. As such, Kyle never felt the want of anything growing up. Well, that’s not strictly true but my lips are sealed for the time being. Moving in next door to Chloe, aka The One That Got Away, aka The One Most Likely To Push His Buttons, may give him the opportunity to right some wrongs. That’s if he can get her to give him the time of day.
Let the battle commence…
These two are incendiary together, and as Chloe and Kyle’s history/histories are revealed we uncover secrets that could shake the very foundation of more than just one life. We’re talking seismic ramifications.
With each chapter, as all the pieces started to come together, I felt a sense of trepidation as to how things would all turn out.
And, breathe…
Tbh, this was a much darker read than I expected, but was still an addictive page turner. I look forward to catching up with the other books in this series as this is one author I want to read more of – I’ll just remember to have the tissues handy.
This book made me lol and cry… excellent!
This is one of those rare books that surprised the hell out of me, I was not expecting #allthefeels that this story evoked. Charity Ferrel, you have a new fan!!!
Just Neighbors is full of humor, and tons of steam, though that is not what drew me in. Just as soon as I thought I knew where things were headed, Charity would throw in a plot twist that I never saw coming. Its was so refreshing to read something that I was unable to predict. Of course the story ends with a “HEA”, but the journey to get there is one that spands over a decade.
Kyle and Chloe’s relationship is a complicated one, they face many obstacles upon their road to happiness. At times this book had me laughing out loud, I had assumed going in that I would be reading your standard “Romcom” but this… This is so much more. Charity Ferrell has this innate ability to slowly peel back layers, quietly immersing you in her world.
This is definitely one of those books that will stick with you forever!
This was the first one I read from this writer. It was heart wrenching amazingly written with amazing characters. Chloe has a new neighbor. But this neighbor is not just anyone. It is someone that she at one time had feelings for but now hates. But he comes to the rescue one night and things start to change between them. But a family secret will change everything. Will these two get a second chance at love or will the secret be to much? Gripping enjoyable heart wrenching. There is a part of the storyline that had me in tears. Fair warning. But excellent story line. Very enjoyable.Highly recommend. Can’t wait to read more from the writer.
Wow. An Enemies to Lovers wrapped in a 2nd chance bow! I adored Kyle and Chloe banter, both angry and heated. Things take a twist, but in the end, all the smiles come back.
HOLY CANNOLI THIS BOOK! I was a huge fan of Kyle and his level of loyalty in the last book and couldn’t wait to see what he brought to the table in this book and I was not disappointed! Chloe was dealt a really tough hand as a child, and then again into adulthood until she starts standing up for herself and starts living for herself as well. The two have been at odds since an incident in high school, and the beginning of the book really shows that although the situation hurt them, their secret attraction overpowers that hurt. The ups and downs in this storyline kept me so intrigued and the secrets really made this story. Just when I thought the last secret was exposed another thing would happen shocking me yet again. I felt a full range of emotions in this book, and towards the end was in tears (you’ll find out why and be right there with me too). Overall, this is an amazing book with an amazing storyline, and great characters. I can’t wait for the next book in this series!!
I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
Chloe and Kyle gave me everything I could want in a story! They had me laughing, and angry and sad and so damn happy for them. This was a great story with amazing characters, who had incredible chemistry and hearts so big and full you couldn’t help but have all the feels thrown at you! I can’t wait to read the rest of this series!
4.5*
This is the first book I have read from this author and I liked it. This is the fourth book in the series but can be read as a standalone, but I would recommend reading from the beginning if your like me I want to know the other characters in the book their story. This was an enemies to lovers, second chance romance. This book captured my attention right from the start. With the banter between Kyle and Chloe and then when things change between them, but there’s a secret and it just keeps you curious until things are revealed. This book had funny moments, family drama, a part of a story that was so emotionally heartbreaking I was in tears and love. Now I need to go back and read the other three books. I’m interested in Kyle’s partner and best friends story.

I was a little nervous about reading this book because Enemies to Lovers generally isn’t my favorite type of story to read, but I am so glad I took a chance on this story. It was AMAZING!!! I think this might be one of my all time favorites by Charity Ferrell to date.
Just Neighbors had everything I look for in a 5 star read. I was laughing at times, yelling at my kindle. blushing and even crying. This book had my emotions all over the place. I had a hard time putting this book down. I truly didn’t want it to end!!!
Just Neighbors is the 4th book in Charity Ferrell’s Blue Beech Series. They are all standalone novels with interconnected characters. I don’t truly believe that these books have to be read in order. As I said this is an enemies to lovers story and is told in Dual POV. I thought the flow and pace of the story was spot on. I didn’t really know what to expect from Chloe and Kyle’s story, but I was pleasantly surprised while reading this story. I truly didn’t expect it to be as emotional as it was. The back story as well as things that happen during the story, truly broke my heart. I am happy to report that Charity was able to put my heart back together in the end 🙂
In this book we follow Kyle and Chloe’s story. Kyle Lane is well known in Blue Beech and also well liked. He comes from a well off family, but he is determined to forge his own path, without his dad’s help. We met Kyle first in Just Exes. He is Gage’s bff and partner with the police department. Chloe Fieldgain is the girl from the other side of the tracks. She had a horrible upbringing and is determined to make something of her life. Kyle and Chloe have a history from something that happened in High School. It ended badly, and now Chloe can’t stand Kyle. Even more so now that he is her neighbor. But Kyle just loves ruffling her feathers. I loved Kyle in Just Exes but I fell for him even more after reading this story. I loved seeing this sweet and loving side of Kyle. I also loved Chloe. She is such a strong and independent heroine. I think everyone needs to meet Chloe…her story will break your heart but what she’s done with her life will make you cheer for her to get her HEA!!!
All I can really say is READ THIS BOOK!! If you love an enemies to lovers story, this is probably one of the best I have read in a long time. Trust me this story will suck you in and you won’t know what’s to come as you read this story!!!
Chloe and Kyle are neighbors’ and she has hated him since high school. Kyle wants to redeem himself, but Chloe is stubborn and independent, so he has his work cut out for him. Will these two move from enemies / lovers? No spoilers; this is a definite must read, you will not be disappointed. This is a beautifully written story which is humorous, emotional, heartbreaking, and filled with witty banter and twists. I was totally captivated throughout this addictive page turner, and cannot wait to read more from this talented author, whose work I highly recommend for all.
I’m in love with Charity Ferrell’s writing, and this book was no exception.
Characters that make you love them, and a storyline that gives you all the feels.
Such an amazing addictive story!
Enemies-to-lovers is my absolute favorite genre. I was all sorts of giddy waiting for Just Neighbors to hit my kindle! Like jumping up and down & dancing in circles . Needless to say, Charity Ferrell did not disappoint me. AT. ALL.
Kyle Lane is Blue Beech’s golden boy and favorite bachelor. Mr. Hot AF (have you seen the cover ) is a police officer and Gage (from Just Exes) is his partner. Kyle’s favorite way to start his day-standing shirtless on his front porch drinking coffee so he doesn’t miss his chance to mess with Chloe as she’s leaving for work.
Chloe Fieldgain is the exact opposite of Blue Beech’s golden anything. Unfortunately, she has had to work hard to get where she is in life as the editor in chief of The Blue Beech Register. Everyone needs a friend/assistant like Melanie is to Chloe. Trust me on this one. But that doesn’t help change the fact that her arch nemesis has moved in next door. In Chloe’s own words “Being around him is the equivalent of menstrual cramps”.
Kyle & Chloe’s story moved me. It touched my soul. There is so much than just being enemies. It’s quite the journey. It’s serious, it’s intense and it’s soul shattering. I’m warning you right now….have your box of tissues ready. The author does a great job of putting our hearts back together again.
Just Neighbors is a stand-alone. You do not have to read any of the other books in the Blue Beech Series, but I wouldn’t blame you if you did. It has earned a coveted spot on my reread shelf!
Funny, frustrating and fabulously sexy enemies-to-lovers, second chance romance with a twist.
Chole Fieldgain is a walking talking cliché. Shes been cheated on, forgiven, cheated on again and is now frustratingly single. Shes also a journalist with her small town The Blue Beech Register.
Her nemesis -Kyle Lane is a hot cop and mayors son who’s made her lief he’ll since high school
Kyle Lane, the man I’ve despised since sophomore year of high school, moved into the house next door three months, six days, and twenty hours ago. The jerk wore out his welcome within five seconds. Correction: he was never welcome in my neighborhood.
They come to loggerheads at the drop a hat and their banter keeps story alive and pulsating
The chemistry zapping and could light up their town!!
I enjoyed reading this standalone witty, hot, sexy story
