A madcap modern marriage of convenience tale sure to leave fans begging for more
Maybe there hasn’t been actual blood, other than a few paper cuts, but Myles has put plenty of sweat into his independent, local newspaper, and he’s even willing to admit to a few manly tears. Certainly, the paper has been his mistress since he moved to the small town of Wishful, Mississippi, and he doesn’t feel … doesn’t feel it’s hyperbolic in the least to say it owns a piece of his soul. He’s building his dream, independent of the life laid out for him by his family, and that means everything. There’s nothing he wouldn’t do to ensure its success.
Piper fell hard for Myles when they co-stared in the production of White Christmas that saved Wishful’s historic Madrigal Theater. Not in love, she’s careful to remind herself, but into very serious like, and certainly outrageous, chemistry-fueled attraction. But Piper knows that the bright lights of the stage can wreak havoc with perspective. She’s been burnt by them before, when an on-stage passion fizzled into disappointment and heartache. That’s why she put on the brakes with Myles, and she admits to herself that the fact that he played by her rules and waited only adds to his appeal.
When Myles tells her that a major investor is pulling out of the paper, leaving him with a huge loan to repay or lose his control over what he’s built, Piper is devastated for him. But when he jokingly admits that the best option he’s come up with is to marry a showgirl to gain access to a trust fund, well, that just sounds like a plan to Piper. After all, why not take this great guy on marriage test drive? He’s worth having just for this moment, however long it lasts. But as their fake marriage turns alarmingly real, they’ll have to decide if they’re in it for the moment or forever.
Welcome to Wishful, Mississippi, a small town with big hearts, where folks come together to make their dreams come true. We first met Myles and Piper when they auditioned for White Christmas in BE CAREFUL, IT’S MY HEART, when another of Piper’s zany schemes helped bring her friends Tyler and Brody together. We followed their story in ONCE UPON A SETUP, a Wishful Meet-Cute Romance, which tells the story behind Piper’s cooling off period. But if you haven’t read either of those, don’t worry about jumping in here. Every Wishful story can stand on its own, just like the sassy women of this charming, southern town.

I enjoyed Piper’s story. Miles had his hands full but was able to rise to the occasion. Plan to continue reading this series.
Great book.
A sweet soul mate story.
A business arrangement that turns into much more. An entertaining story, full of romance and well worth adding to your list. No sex or foul language.
Absolutely love this book, Wishful #4. Piper and Myles are such warm, realistic characters. They are dealing with new love and family interference in sometimes humorous, sometimes heartbreaking ways. Other Wishful characters are part of the story….makes you wish you were part of the Wishful community. I definitely recommend this book and the whole Wishful series.
This. THIS BOOK! This is hands-down my favorite Wishful so far. Perhaps even my favorite Kait Nolan. I admit that I’m somewhat leery of fake relationship/marriage tropes – because sometimes by the end I still don’t understand how the forced pair are together.
The great thing about Just for This Moment is that Myles & Piper were already halfway there. The tension comes from trying to keep secrets from family and friends and wondering whether they ruined their chances with the ruse. Planning a wedding last minute brings its own hilarious, aggravating, and romantic scenes.
Another one of my favorite things about Nolan’s writing is that while she often includes “the big misunderstanding” – she doesn’t painfully (for the reader) drag it out. I cried right along with Piper but was quickly comforted when Myles worked to set things right. There’s another big surprise, but I won’t ruin it – or it wouldn’t be a surprise.
The epilogue was precious and so relatable. I’m ready for Reed & Cicely’s book, Wish I Might.
Amy McFadden continues giving an expanding townsfolk their own unique voices, while keeping old favorites consistent from previous books.
Revisiting these characters and this small town was a treat. One of the many things I like about Kait’s stories is the sense of charming and warm community and that even the secondary characters have a bit of depth, definitely potential (like you know there is more there – they are just waiting their turn for her to tell their story). Piper and Myles though, were really interesting protagonists with a compelling story. Loved it!
I have been provided with a copy of Just for this Moment by the author for an impartial review. This novel is a part of the Wishful Romance series and it was great to read another book in this series. In this book we get to see more of Piper and Myles who we have previously met in earlier books in the series. This book was just hilarious and had me laughing so much. I absolutely fell in love with these characters and I was sad to see it end. I can’t wait to read more of this author’s books.
This is the fourth book in this series and like all the others it is a delightful read. Myles and Piper have great chemistry and they deserve their HEA. They enter into their relationship unconventionally but there is lots of romance and fun.
Really enjoyable! Small community charm and great character development with whom you will fall in love!
Acting
They met while do White Christmas for the town theatre but she wanted to wait to see if the feelings are real. He trying to make the paper a success but his investor is calling on the loan sooner than expected. He has a trust but it has a stipulation he has to marry to get it. She suggests they marry for convenience, but is it really love.
I’ve loved many of Kait Nolan’s books, but this one made me bawl — in a good way. 😉
This story hit so many of my favorite tropes–fake relationship, marriage of convenience–but did so in a unique story that somehow made those realistic for a contemporary, small-town romance. And the epilogue? Perfection.
4 MyPie Stars!!!! This is book 4 of the Wishful series. In typical Kait Nolan fashion her characters come to life and become part of your set of friends, the ones you want to hang out with on a lazy afternoon or when you need someone to have your back. Piper and Myles are both the black sheep of their families. Piper is especially impulsive and that impulsiveness plays front and center in this book. It lands them both in a crazy scheme to save Myles business and quickly becomes so much more. There is the usual assumptions, confusion, and misunderstandings. Even though you see it coming it’s still fun to “watch” it happen.
Beware of Preston…he will totally steal your heart!
Just for This Moment is a fun, quick, quirky romance from a true Southern small town where everybody knows your business. If you’re looking for some light reading with Southern charm this will satisfy your craving. The entire Wishful series focuses on family, community, and romance.
I feel like I am reading about people I would love to know.
My favorite of the Wishful series, so far. I truly loved the couple dynamics of Piper and Myles in ‘Just For This Moment’ and the fast paced storyline in this book…well, I just couldn’t put it down. Can be read as a standalone. Beautifully written!
I enjoyed the characters and how the intertwined with each other.
It’s the best ever! I read the story twice. I enjoy happily-ever-after story.
Really enjoyed looking for more
I loved this book, and frankly I love everything about wishful. I’ve read many of the books in the series, but I have yet to complete the whole thing. Kait Nolan has a wonderful way of creating these characters that you feel like you really know, in a town that you can see in your mind’s eye. As long as she keeps writing, I will keep reading. You won’t be let down to pick up anything she writes. And this is one of my favorite Wishful books. But honestly I’ve loved them all, it’s really hard to pick a single favorite.
Pretty good entertainment!!!
