This is one of the best series I’ve read in a long time, I’ve followed the author so I’ll be sure to hear when the next book is coming out. I don’t want to miss a moment with Hetta, Jan, Po’ Thang and the rest of the gang.
Always laugh out loud funny, these book also always manage to pull you into the moment, feel the danger, wonder how’ll they’ll make it through this time AND tug at your heartstrings a time or two.
Jinx Schwartz has written a terrific series, give them a try, I think you’ll love them, too!
I just love Hedda Coffey, so of course this is another winner for this author. Funny, charming, and smartly written, whats not to like? Highly recommended!

I’ve enjoyed reading every book in this series.
I love the Hetta Coffey series -featuring a strong-willed and witty Texas dynamo and her rescued pooch “Po-Thang.” Drug runners, thieves, and human traffickers frequently run afoul of Hetta and friends. Set in the Sea of Cortez on the western shores of Mexico the stories are action-filled, realistic and entertaining. Cheers Lynda

I anxiously await and new Jinx Schwartz book! They are light reading and immensely entertaining. The characters never disappoint and Hetta, t he main character, is witty and fun. There are books you read to learn something profound and those read simply to be entertained. The Hetta Coffey books are delightful.

This is one of my very favorite series. The characters are so vivid that you are certain you know them or whis you did. If you haven’t read any of these books, start at the beginning and enjoy the adventure. The only bad thing about any of these books is coming to the end of them…
The Hetta Coffey series continues to provide reliable enjoyment – nothing too heavy, but enough in the way of plot twists to keep the interest, the main characters continue to be amusing and enjoyable, and the setting continues to intrigue.
Nonetheless, I’ve rated this book 4 stars instead of 5, and would judge it to be a step below others in the series. It spends just a bit too much time on re-telling the adventures of previous books – admittedly helpful if it has been a while since reading those books, but a bit too much. Also, it would have been nice to see a new and unexpected source of help beyond the by-now familiar Cholo and Nacho. In short, this book felt a bit too predictable.
I certainly recommend this book, but I am hoping that the next one in the series will be a return to the delightfully unexpected!
