Rhys Fletcher is not in love with his sister-in-law.That would be a very, very bad idea, and he doesn’t entertain bad ideas. He also doesn’t lie to himself. Both of those things can’t be true, so he’ll do what he’s done since the long-ago night when his brother, Dylan, turned up in an Auckland bar after a brutal rugby match between their two teams, and introduced his new girlfriend—a dark-eyed, … girlfriend—a dark-eyed, impossibly short, much-too-young girl named Zora.
He’ll lie.
Now, his brother’s gone, and Rhys is back in New Zealand and settling into his new job as the head coach of the Auckland Blues. Surely, being there for Dylan’s widow and their son is the right thing to do. He can control himself. He’s had forty years of practice. Until he gets a call from his lawyer, and flies to the States to find that handsome, charming, endlessly irresponsible Dylan has left yet another loose end for his big brother to sort out.
This one is six years old. And her birth certificate says she belongs to Rhys.

Excellent rugby romance set in New Zealand
I’ve read every single book in this fun series about sexy rugby players in New Zealand, because any new addition to the series is an autobuy for me. Each romance novel is a standalone, but the author periodically reconnects readers with protagonists from previous books via cameo appearances, which is the case with this book as well.
The romantic protagonists in this latest installment are attractive and honorable people, but the two kids, his 6-year-old daughter and her 8-year-old son, steal the show. They’re adorably precocious.
I have experienced this book both in Kindle format and and as an audiobook. The narrator does a good job.
Just Come Over is pure New Zealand gold!
So brilliantly written, that I was utterly captivated from the first sentence!
Not able to put it down for a second. I even fell asleep listening to the audio because let’s face it,
I was hooked on it like a drug!
I was completely blown away!
Plus add in the superb narration and OMG!! It just brought it to a whole mesmerizing new level making it a spellbinding experience!
Rosalind James has created a community in the Escape to New Zealand series that everyone wants to visit. I take that back, you want to live there and know each and every character. They become your family. You will want to read all of the books.
Wrapped Around Her Little Finger.
I loved Rhys’ interactions with 6 year old Casey, there were some laugh out loud moments but also some beautifully tender moments. It was their relationship that made the story for me, much more so than the romance between Rhys and Zora. I would have given this 5 stars but for the fact that there were typos and the sex scenes were just sex ie. had too little emotion/feelings for me.
This was the first book I have read by the author and I didn’t feel cast adrift by not having read any of the others in the series.
Rhys Fletcher’s story was worth the wait. Wow what a story! He is so good hearted and just an overall great man. I fell in love with him immediately. Not only is his character “a fixer” and “a protector”, he’s loving and tender. He takes his role as dad very seriously and melted my heart throughout the book. Then there’s Zora, Miss Independent, Miss “I’ll take care of it”, Mom of the year and has an awesome relationship with her son. It’s about time she finds her happiness.
Rosalind James creates women who are strong and will stop at nothing to protect what is theirs and the ones they love. The children are exactly as you would expect, and they will stay in your heart forever.
Another wonderful Escape to New Zealand book. The attention to detail had my mouth watering with the food in the story, my imagination running wild with the description of the homes and land, and my heart full with the story of each of these characters. Wonderfully written and an absolutely beautiful story all around.
I’m so glad Rosalind wrote another Escape to New Zealand book. I think this one may be my favorite (although I think I’ve said that before lol) She always draws you into the story. When I started this book I felt like I couldn’t put it down. She showed how families have so many secrets and how one leads to another and so on. It also shows how families can be stronger then they think when they have to. I can’t wait for the audible edition to be released. Emma Wilder does such a great job with the accents and males as well as females.
This was a good story with lots of humour and touching moments. The main theme that came over to me was family, that it can take different shapes and does not have to follow the traditional model. I liked the interaction the protagonists had with the children and relationship which developed between Zora and Rhys was not seem contrived. A good romance with strong characters, romance and steamy sex scenes, a great read and I recommend it.
I am a huge fan of Rosalind James and all of her books. Every time I finish a story I think, “this is my favorite couple” and then I read the next book and I’m like, “no, this is my favorite couple”! When I read the summary of Just Come Over a feeling of dread came over me. There are a few relationships I don’t like to read about in romance- step anything, best friend’s ex, and ex in-law. With that in mind I hesitantly opened this book in the belief that this would be the first one that I didn’t like by this author. I should have known, that even with my dislike of these types of relationships, that Rosalind James would weave her magic and make me fall in love. So now, “this is my favorite book”, at least until the next one!
I love to Escape to New Zealand. In some series, with each book you read, it seems like you are rehashing the same story. Not with these books.
Just Come Over can be read as a standalone. The only things it has in common with the other books in the series are being New Zealand based, some level of involvement with the All Blacks, good decent alpha males, strong sense of family, and strong independent women who love them.
The description explains the premise of the book, so there is no need for me to rehash it. All of the characters were really well written. From the first pages you get the feeling of escape, planting you firmly in NZ. I enjoy the descriptions of the homes, the landscape, the weather, etc. You also get to briefly revisit teammates and their partners from previous books.
There is a strong element of the romantic in this book. Yet, there is also a sexiness and sensuality that this author manages to smoothly incorporate in the storyline. It is also sweet, funny, snarky, and has some “hold your breath” suspenseful moments.
I highly recommend you take a chance on this romance. When I finish that last page, I leave with a smile on my face wishing I could have stayed longer.
The twelfth book in the series and the twelfth book I’ve thoroughly enjoyed!
Rosalind James has a way with words….each time I read one of her NZ books I’m drawn into her descriptions of the setting, characters, emotions…
Lots of feels in this one! Just Come Over is a standalone but I’ve enjoyed continuing the entire series.
Rugby, hot alpha males, strong women, romance, beautiful surroundings. And I enjoyed the witty banter so much.
Get lost in beautiful New Zealand all over again in the latest read! Highly recommend this book, author and series!
To say I loved this book is an understatement. I was looking for the option to give it six stars!
This is an in-depth, full length book with characters that will pull you in and a storyline that has drama, conflict, and characters that are well developed. It’s also a romance that really sizzles!
This book has it all for me…characters that make you wish you were “one of them” and a storyline with subplots, dialogue, and character thoughts that are tightly woven….and as I write this, it feels as though I’m not doing it justice.
The characters are everything to me. I’ve read Ms. James from the beginning of the “Escape” series. The stories, characters, and series overall has been a real winner. I’ve really enjoyed seeing her evolve as a writer. This book is such a good representation of where she’s come as a writer and the characters are proof.
Just Come Over is book twelve in the Escape to New Zealand series. Rhys has a surprise in store for him, and as he works to figure things out, he finds more than he thought he would get. His story kept me captivated throughout. I loved the relationships this story created. This is a long and enjoyable read. Definitely one not to be missed.
Wow! I love this series by Rosalind James, but I think she’s outdone herself this time. Yes, this is an amazing romance, but it is also a heartfelt story of family and love, with plenty of emotion.
Rhys has been in love with Zora, since before she became his sister in law. Now that his brother has died, they discover they still have a spark, complicated by the discovery of Rhys’ daughter in America.
Rhys and Zora are fabulous characters. Rosalind’s writing makes me feel as if they are real, relatable people. I highly recommend this newest addition to a wonderful series.
With most authors, I’d be concerned going into the 12th book of a series. I’d be worried that the story would be more of the same or the cast too large and complicated to follow.
With Ms James and Just Come Over, I was excited to revisit New Zealand and the rugby playing leading men and the women who love them.
Each installment of the Escape New Zealand series is a fresh take on relationships, love, and facing challenges to find a happily ever after.
Rhys and Zora have more challenges than most and watching them face those challenges was enlightening and made me like them more and more as the story went forward.
Ms James has a unique style that continues to pull me in, even after what has to be close to 20 books. The core cast is small and well developed. The story line between Rhys and Zora was entertaining with a little more angst than her normal, but it’s the type of story that you could easily see happening to real people.
With themes of trust, loyalty, family, and second chances Just Come Over is a jewel in the Escape to New Zealand series. A complete stand alone work, loyal series followers will be thrilled to see glimpses of previous featured characters as well.
I love visiting New Zealand with Rosalind James Escape to New Zealand Series and that’s exactly how I feel whenever I pick up a book in this series, I feel like I’m going home to catch up with family and friends. I thought this author had given us her best work boy was I wrong because for me this very emotional read is the best so far in the 12 books I have read. This book not only has a couple you will fall in love with it also has 2 adorable children who really stole the show……
Zora has been married to Dylan and she has 2 adorable kids from that marriage but everything is not always what it seems and Dylan had plenty of affairs before he passed away from a terminal illness. Rhys is her brother in law and he has hidden his feelings for Zora for many years for the sake of his brother and her marriage but now he is back home in the same town as Zora coaching the local rugby team can he keep his feelings under control……
I really don’t want to give too much of this amazing story away because I feel you need to read it without any insight or expectations to get the best from it, what I wil say is this emotional story also has some magical moments that will leave you smiling like a Cheshire Cat, it will captivate you it will draw you in so please make sure you have time to finish what you start as I’m sure like me you won’t want to put this book down and like me you won’t want it to end. Where does this very talented author go now with this series, I don’t know but I can’t wait to find out !!!
5 Star Review of Just Come Over (Escape to New Zealand #12) by Rosalind James
What an emotional story. Zora is the one who got away from Rhys Fletcher; in fact she married his brother Dylan.
As with previous books I have read from Rosalind James, this book was well written with strong characters that I found I could easily relate too.
I found myself invested in this book from the start. I also love the fact that Ms. James brings New Zealand to life for me.
Rhys has returned to New Zealand and and is now the head coach of the Auckland Blues. After bumping into Zora, Rhys is shocked to find that they have money issues. Now that Zora is a widow, he feels he should be there to support her and her son.
When a surprise call leads him to the US and an even greater surprise, Rhys is forced yet again to make changes.
Just Come Over is a story about family and as such there is plenty of laughter, tears, sadness, regret and a whole lot of love.
The children Casey and Isaiah almost steal the book. Another great addition to the Escape Ro New Zealand series.
