Christian ColeI loved her. It took a day for me to realize she was different. It took a night for me to realize I had to let her go. I was reckless. She deserved everything I couldn’t give to her. I had someone else to worry about. Amari Santana I was in love with him.It only took a few weeks for him to take over all of my thoughts. It only took a few words for him to rip all we had to shreds and … thoughts.
It only took a few words for him to rip all we had to shreds and break me.
I left.
He stayed.
Now I’m back.

Wow, this book was heartbreaking and intense. This book had me from page one. I had to know if they’d get their second chance.
I loved Amari and Christian together, they may of been through everything they have since beginning. But they found their way back to each other. And fought for each other.
I really enjoyed this book.
She has just received a promotion from a teacher to a principal in her hometown. He has been asked to become the football coach after the man who taught him has retired. He has a 6 yr old daughter who attends the school ahe is at. She is not aware who she is to him. The little girl is so serious and smart. He has to come to the school and its a complete surprise. They both still have feelings for each other. But she is hesitate about his daughters age. He never told her about the girl before her ot anything about his child. Christian and Amari are a perfect second chance love story. Choices made in high school leave them both hurt and when they are reunited those scars aren’t healed, but with some love and a little help from Christian’s daughter they are ready to move on together.
My last book of 2019 and an amazing 5 star this was. This is a second chance romantic story.
Christian broke Amari’s heart 6 years ago. Now all these years later Amari is back in their hometown. She never expected for Christian to still be here. He’s not alone. What felt like deception and lies turns out to be nothing more then a bad timing. It wasn’t their time to be together. Now Christian needs to make amends.
It’s a great story that had me read it in a single day. I was sucked in deep into the heart of these characters. A second chance to make it right. It’s a sweet heartfelt story with amazing characters.
Standalone told in a dual POV with an HEA. I strongly recommend this story.
Part of the A Single Dad Romance series a story that had me smiling as I read this second chance story. Christian Cole has loved Amari Santana for years but he did something when he was younger and could not be with her. Christian has a beautiful six year old daughter Ari that made this story. Amari is back in their home town and is the Principal at the school Ari goes to. I enjoyed reading this story. This is the first book by this Author that I have read I will be looking for more books by her.I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Christian and Amari were high school sweet hearts but before they became a couple he had an escapade with another girl. That escapade changed his life forever. The hardest thing he ever did was making Amari believe that they didn’t have a future so that she would not give up her dreams. It has been six years since he broke things off with her and now she is back home taking over the principalship of a school, a school that his daughter attends. When an incidence brings them together the shock at seeing him brings back all the heart ache. Christian can’t believe that she is back in town and the feelings he has for her are still in place. Can this be a second chance for Christian to get things right and have the happily ever after he wanted with her to begin with? This touching story draws you in and will have you cheering for this couple!

Walking away from high school girlfriend, Amari, was the hardest decision Christian ever had to make. Leaving both of them brokenhearted, they try to continue on with their lives but never forgetting the love that was lost. When Amari returns to their hometown they reconnect but it leaves her with more questions than answers. Can they rekindle the love that has haunted them both for years? Or is it too hard to be together because of the hurt that Christian caused. Beautifully written and a storyline I could not put down this was a great read. Once again Gianna Gabriela doe snot disappoint.
This book will grab your heart and will have you feeling the emotional love throughout this story. This is a story that will grab your heart and have you loving every words that come rolling of the pages. This is a must read romantic story that will have you not being able to put down.
Once I cracked this book open, I couldn’t put it down. One of my favorite tropes is second chance, so I was alllllll about this book from the very beginning. What I loved most about this story is that there was so much emotion packed into it. I could literally feel the heartbreak, the pain, the longing from both Christian and Amari. There were several times while I was reading the book where I had to take a pause and get out of my own feelings for a quick second, because things just got so deep while reading the book.
I’ve loved all of Gianna’s books that I’ve read, because she is an incredible storyteller and does such a great job at placing you in the story – and this book was no exception to that. From the very beginning of this story, you are thrown into Christian and Amari’s separate worlds of hurt, regret, and remorse. It doesn’t take long to see that they still love each other, and when fate intervenes and puts them back in their hometown (their reunion had me shook, to be quite honest), it also doesn’t take long to see that they still have a spark that is just dying to be a full-on love inferno. I don’t want to spoil it, but seriously. You do not want to miss out on this book.
Thank you to Gianna for providing an advanced copy of this book. It is so, so good.
This story captured my heart from the very beginning with the great character and storyline development! I enjoyed the interaction between Amari and Christian that kept me totally engaged throughout the entire book!
OK I love Gianna’s Books, and this one was a great as the others!!
Amari and Christian find themselves back in their old stomping grounds, THANKS LIFE!
Amari is at the elementary school, and Christian is at the highschool, where they met!
I really loved the way that Amari gave him the cold shoulder from day one of seeing each other again. She gave him a what for with just her facial expressions. LOVED IT!
Ari is such a bright little girl and too smart probably for her own good. LOL! She’s so stinking cute!
Ok let me start from the beginning. Amari and Christian used to date in high school. All of sudden he breaks it off and leaves her high and dry. Life takes its turns, and they end up back home.
Neither of them know, and they run into each other when Ari, Christian’s daughter gets in trouble at school, and he has to go into meet the principle. You can only guess who that is!!! Yep, the one and only Amari!!!
One thing leads to another and Christian tries….oh he tries so hard to make Amari understand, but man I love her sass! He deserved it though!!
Emely her bestie comes for a visit and lets it all out about Christian.
Can Amari forgive Christian once she hears the whole story? Does she even let him tell the whole story?
Can they make it work again, and rekindle that spark that was there 6 years ago?
AND OMG I CAN’T FORGET THE EPILOGUE! What a great way to end a story like this with Ari’s POV. LOVED IT SO MUCH!!!!!
Thanks Gianna you made me cry!!!
Some of my fave quotes:
1. “I’m alive. You’re alive. So long as we’re breathing, it’s not too late to fix the things that are broken.” – Oh Christian, keep trying honey, keep trying.
2. That’s not the only thing I’m going to fix” – KEEP TRYING CHRISTIAN!
This book touches your heart and makes you let out a long contented sigh. Amari left her home town six years ago and never looked back. Christian, her high school sweetheart, had abruptly dumped her without warning in a very public, cruel way. Now, as the new principal of her childhood elementary school, she is making her way back to her childhood home. When she discovers that one of her six year old charges is Christian’s daughter, Ari, Amari works back the timeline and assumes that Christian must have cheated on her and refuses to have anything to do with him outside of him being a parent. Christian has other ideas! Delightful story, and Ari is just a wonderfully precocious little girl, who is wise beyond her years. Loved this story.
