She hates me… almost as much as she wants me.I have everything I should want. Only the thrill is gone.Until I meet Meg. The inexperienced college student is a breath of fresh air. Sassy, sexy, completely unimpressed by me. She hates my cocky grin. She huffs at my one-liners. And when she asks if I have some place better to put my mouth…I make her an offer. Her place, my place, any place, as … my place, any place, as long as I can make her groan all night long. I’m as surprised as she is when she says yes. Who would have guessed that booksmart, guarded, gorgeous as all hell Meg would want me to be her first?
We keep it simple. Three rules to protect both of us.
No feelings, no secrets, no falling in love.
But some things are easier said than done.

What an emotionally gripping story! Miles is the ultimate sexy, broken bad boy. Meg is so endearing, going through tragic pain of her own and being so straightforward, honest and totally woke by the mega hotness of Miles. Still recovering from my book hangover here. Whoo!
ARC was provided to me by Author through Booksprout. My review is being given voluntarily.
I gave this book 5 stars – Fantastic
“Just a Taste” is basically the 1st book on the Sinful Serenade series, but on Miles POV. The actual 1st book is called *Sing Your Heart Out*
This is the love story of Miles and Megara and what a great story it is. Miles is the Hot famous front vocalist of the band, and Meg is just a pre-medical student working really hard at both, she works part-time everything weeknights in the ER to stay barely afloat
They meet through her friend who’s best friends with one of the band members. Miles and Meg are both running from recent losses heartbreak, pain and guilt. This is a raw emotional, HOT sexy chemistry, funny at times, sweet, gives us a roller coaster ride. They make mistakes that can turn their relationship upside-down, It might make unreputable damage, truth has a way of always coming out! I love this couple and was rooting for them the whole time
Great Book!!!! No cliffhangers, and we get a HEA!
Miles and Meg’s story is an emotional journey as they battle themselves and their feeling. This is intense read of Miles, a bad boy rock star dealing with the demons of his past, and Meg is sweet college student going through loss. They are both struggling trying to get through the day the best they can protecting their hearts .
This story will remain with you as the character’s pain and suffering is so raw.

This was a good book. It’s also a nice companion book to Sing Your Heart Out.
Miles is a lead singer in a rock band. Meg is a college student. Miles and Meg are both getting over many events in their lives which have impacted them greatly. When they end up as friends with benefits, both are good with that until the more time they spend together, the more they begin to like and have feelings of each other. Yet they aren’t too sure they should be feeling this way. Can two lost souls learn to open up and find each other? This book was exceptional in reading how both were healing each other. Loved their interaction and growth.

Absolutely loved this story line in Sing Your Heart Out, and enjoyed it again this time around in Miles’ POV. Miles and Meg might be one of my favorite couples from Crystal’s books. I love a bad boy who falls for a sweet girl and fights it clear to the end. Reading it all again in his point of view just gives us bonus content and I really loved being in his head so much. Definitively recommend reading this one.

Two broken and grieving people find each other……….can they heal and have a HEA?
Just a Taste is a well written book that I enjoyed reading. The story is about Miles, a bad boy rock star who has more than a few issue which include the inability to commit to a single relationship. He is talented and sexy, so the women love to throw themselves at him, but yet he still wants to have that “one” person.
Megara (aka Meg) is a sweet and lovely college student who is grieving the death of her sister. She is also still an innocent virgin.
One night they meet at a Sinful Serenade party when she walks in one him and another woman as she was looking for the bathroom. Miles is attracted to her and thinks she is up for some fun with him, but he is in for a surprise. When Meg realizes that the friend she had some with is to drunk to drive and Meg cannot drive a stick shift Miles offers to drive them home. Along the way things start to get a little fun as these two have a real attraction to each other. But nothing happens that night except for the exchange of digits. They do stay in touch and things start to progress from there into a possible friends with benefits relationship with some rules, as each says they are not looking for a relationship. But what happens when the rules are broken before they even start? Plus add in a whole host of other things including their need for the other to help them heal.
As I had not read Sing Your Heart Out, which is the same story but Just a Taste is told from Miles’ POV, I did not know the story-line or characters already. I found this to be a really nice read with two broken people trying to cope the best they can day to day in good and also destructive ways. But when they finally find each other they cling on and form a bond that will help them both heal their past trauma and lose.
I received a free ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review. My opinions are all my own.
Miles is a recovering addict and lead singer of Sinful Serenade. He is struggling. Struggling to stay sober, with trauma from his past and struggling with guilt. He’s not looking for a relationship and doesn’t really believe in love. Until he meets Megara.
This is one of those where you can take it or leave. The characters are good, but the conflict is weak. It’s one of those where they break up and get back together twice, I think. No typos or grievous usage errors. You could read it in a day with no interruptions. Would I recommend? Sure. Am I going to read the other books in the series? Definitely not.
Miles is a screwed up rock star with a don’t care attitude. Or at least that’s what he thinks he wants everyone to see. He’s in pain. Suffered many losses in his life. He pours his emotions into his lyrics but people don’t listen to the words.
Then along comes Meg. She hears him. She hurts with him. And that just scares Miles. He is drawn to her but has nothing to offer her emotionally just sex. They become friends with benefits. The chemistry is hot and sexy.
Miles is far more caring and sensitive than even he believes. You want to love him and smack him at the same time. He is gorgeous. Crystal Kaswell describes him so well. The pictures form clearly in your mind. He is one very sexy rock star.
The story pushes and pulls your emotions. Sometimes bright and happy, other times sad and frustrating. It is a great read. Very entertaining.
Another Sinful Serenade book but it’s awesome. Miles tortured sole and past way heavy on him as he tries to find and keep the light in his life. When he meets Meg, she turns him into a spin that could land him one of two ways. The bad boy rocker needs something, someone but is Meg it? Perfect compliment to the rest of the Sinful Serenade series.
Miles and Meg are so beautiful broken together. I love the way you get to be in Miles head see where he is at. Great characters and storyline. I would love to see more of this. Highly recommended.
Love Ms. Kaswell’s Work! Highly Recommended Reading!!
Ms. Kaswell writes about some of the most intense, pensive, male characters this reader has ever come across. This is why I keep up with her work, so that I do not miss anything. At the end of her stories, I am usually wrung out emotionally, strung-up sensually and bone deep book satiated. Love Ms. Kaswell’s work. Highly recommended reading.

I love all of Crystal Kaswells books and this one is no exception. If you have read Sing Your Heart Out, you must read this. What a treat to get Miles’ POV. Another take on Meg and Miles’ romance is an awesome bonus!! If you haven’t read any books in the series, this is a great one to start with.
I just love Miles and Meg. The cocky rockstar and the dedicated medical student. They both have this pain and loss that causes these walls to be built. It also causes this deep connection between them. It’s great to be able to dig deep into how they both think and their internal struggles. An amazing, must read story!
I read and reviewed this book voluntarily.
This book is a retelling of Sing Your Heart Out, but mostly from Miles POV. It was great to get I to Miles head and see what he was thinking through out his and Megs Love Story.
Another great book by Crystal.
Miles Webb and Megara Smart aren’t broken, they’re shattered! Life has thrown them some unbearable heartbreak and neither one has been able to work through it. Meg lost her sister to drugs and Miles lived through a tragedy involving his mom. They lost faith in love and each vows to have relationships in their lives that are not committed, only friends with benefits. Meg and Miles meet in a very unusual way at a Sinful Serenade party. The connection they make is immediate and intense. They act on it but have an understanding that it will be based on trust, respect and never telling lies. Plus, they make a pact that no feelings can be involved because they’ll end up hurting each other The pain each of them has in their life is almost palpable. Slowly, when they’re together, they come close to crossing that line. The more time spent together, it’s becoming impossible not to involve feelings. Miles doesn’t know how to express them, except in the lyrics of the songs he writes. And Meg refuses to talk about them because she hasn’t let go of the grief she feels over her sister’s death. If that’s not enough, Miles has a dark secret that he can’t share with Meg because he knows it will be the end of them. Just a Taste is an emotional experience. Frustration, surprise, happiness and passion are present until the very end and what an ending it is! Stunning!
If you love your cocky sexy rockstars this is the book for you… Just a Taste is a retelling of Sing Your Heart Out, from Miles Webb;s POV
Miles Webb the frontman and singer of Sinful Serenade is the epitome of a real rockstar, woman fall over themselves to be with him and.men want to be like him….but he isnt happy as the thrill is gone….that is until he meets Meg who cant stand him and thinks he is cocky and arrogant which awakens something in Miles….they make a deal to become friends with benefits with no feelings, no secrets and no falling in love……will the two broken lovers stick to the rules?
