Hetta Coffey is a sassy Texan with a snazzy yacht, and she’s not afraid to use it. She’s cruising Mexico’s hauntingly beautiful Sea of Cortez when she gets a job offer she can’t refuse. Not only is the project located in her old stomping grounds in Texas Hill Country, but comes with an RV for living quarters. She has no problem driving a forty-five foot yacht, but RVing is new to her. And as will …
And as will happen, life throws her a major curve ball, and then smack dab into a nefarious plot back across the border.
Join up with Hetta’s posse—her dog, Po Thang and Trouble, her parrot—as they teach some bad guys not to mess with Texas.

Hetta Coffey saves the world (well sorta) again! I bought book 11 awhile back and was saving it for a special occasion. Coved-19 happened and viola! Hetta Coffey rocked as she did her Thang and wrangled her way out of more Trouble. Love her…my only complaint is that it wasn’t nearly long enough to last through the entire quarantine period. So. I went back and re-read books 1-11 again. The only problem I have now is 1.) I’m out of Hetta and 2.) I’m starting to talk like her. Good stuff, Ms. Schwartz, thank you! More please!
What a romp this one is! Hetta’s boat is appropriated by a friend(?) without her knowledge. Okay at least he paid the bill at the boat yard–but–and it seems he has a friend’s boyfriend with him.
The entire crew of Hetta’a friends end up helping her-even her boyfriend who is overseas.
It turns into a real fiasco when the people that her boat is following are a bunch of gun and drug runners!!
On a happy note Hetta had a son way back when and he found her–now she has to tell the father!!
This one really had me going and I honestly read it in one reading–lots of twists and turns and as in all the Hetta Coffey novels plenty of laughs as well.
I really like the characters in the Hetta Coffey series and the story lines are fun. The author takes you on a tour of the Baja, southwest US and other places in the world. If Hetta can get in to trouble she will and then she is clever in getting herself out of trouble~
What a delightful book! Mystery, adventure and a healthy dose of humor. I look forward to reading more of Hettys adventures
Best series ever!
Just as hilarious as ever. So funny. Love the banter, characters, predicaments…
If you are a camper you will definitely identify with this book. I found myself saying yep I know what’s going on.
In her very successful Hetta Coffey Mystery series Jinx Schwartz writes about a smart-ass, Texas red-head, who is an engineer, owns a big boat and an RV, and packs ‘heat’ – just like the author! The stories are always entertaining page-turners. The smart-mouthed parrot and goofy lovable dog Po’Thang add to the hilarity. It’s a great series. Cheers Lynda L. Lock (Isla Mujeres Mystery novels).
A full of fun series! Characters, plots, troubles all fun.
One of Jinx’s best. I really enjoyed it.
Jinx Brings Hetta onto Shore with all her usual Crew, plus a couple of Surprises!
Great rainy day books, all of them… But beware…. Get the whole Collection because these books are like chips!
One is never enough! Jinx’s ancestral semi autobiography, The Texicans taught me more about that particular area of history than any class I have taken!
I’m not sure what genre I would place Just A Happy Camper in, most likely Cozy Mysteries. It’s a page turner fueled by its zany characters. It’s an entertaining read that defies one’s ability to suspend disbelief. If you are looking for a story with a realistic plot and with characters that you will identify with, this book is not for you. If you looking for a quick and entertaining read, allowing you to escape the grips of reality as you read, this book is for you. Just A Happy Camper is a pure spoof. I enjoyed the read. Would I read it again? Probably not, because hard core thrillers are my genre of choice.
All of Jinx schwartz’ books are outstanding and this book is no exception. She is one of my favorite authors.
I love the Hedda series by Jinx Schwartz. They are fast moving, full of fun, adventure and a smidgen of sassiness. I find them hard to put down and feel like I’m involved with the characters. Enjoyable reading
Anything that Jinx Schwartz writes is worth reading! Everyone is (or will be) fortunate to have read Ms. Schwartz’s novels.
This was an okay book, but just not my style. It was very long and had too many words that I didn’t understand. I usually avoid books that are set in other countries because I only read English.
I love this whole series!
Hetta on Land?
Finally on a job for which Hetta can utilize her Engineering degree, not to mention close to home, Hetta has an opportunity to dry dock for much needed repairs on the Raymond Johnson. Of course nothing is simple with Hetta. Meet Jackie, Becky, Jeff and Antoine.
I love this series. Totally relatable..!
Love the characters and the animals. Also interesting plots. Great job!
