A Hollywood princess mixing business and pleasure with her hot new bodyguard is a headline I’ll gladly live up to. Stella The only thing worse than a messy breakup, is a very public messy breakup. After the fallout I made myself a promise— no more dating. The moment my new bodyguard walks through the door, I know I’m going to break that vow.Hudson is nothing like the men in the industry. He’s … nothing like the men in the industry.
He’s rugged and real. Too bad he doesn’t want to spend a second longer with me than he has to. I’m just a job to him.
But he could be my everything.
Hudson
I want nothing to do with the Hollywood limelight. I’ve survived enough without having my face plastered on gossip magazines.
It’s no way to live. But as long as I’m standing beside her, it’s my life. For now.
This job is temporary, a favor to my brother.
But longer we’re forced to be together, the harder it becomes to fight my feelings for Stella. The real her. Not the person the rest of the world sees.
When she makes me an offer to be with her— no strings, how can I say no?

This is a story where opposites attract, small town boy meets big city star. The story is a little flat in spots I feel but overall a decent read.
Hudson, freshly back from deployment, accepts a temporary job as the bodyguard of a famous actress, Stella Mendes. Travelling from small town Blue Beech, Iowa, to Los Angeles is a bit stifling for him and then he meets Stella.
Hudson is a likeable character however a little set in his ways. He certainly has fabulous qualities like loyalty, respect, consideration of others-especially family, he’s supportive but on his terms at times. Stella is someone I clicked with straight away and the chemistry between these two lead characters is incendiary.
The story has some fun banter between characters and some very realistic moments like eating your way through a tub of ice cream when upset, we can all relate to that feeling.
I look forward to reading the next book.
Amazing! I loved this book, couldn’t put it down.
Brilliant characters, entertaining story and I ran through all my emotions on this one, happy, sad, angry, heartbroken,
Stella an actress from her teenage years through adult is trying to find her next project. Hudson is her old bodyguard, Dallas’ brother and filling in until she can find a new one. Hudson was dumped by his longtime girlfriend fiancé when she cheated on him and became engaged to his best friend while he was in the military fighting for our freedom in Afghanistan and she blames him because he wasn’t there for her. Give me a break what a stupid woman.
Sexual tension is high between Stella and Hudson, Hudson thinks Stella is a total Hollywood Diva which she is anything but one, she’s more down to earth than his ex-fiancé, ever could be.

Starting Just One Night: Blue Beech Book #2 right now!
Just her Bodyguard by Charity Ferrell a secure and stable five star read. This is a standalone book, but some of the characters have appeared in other books by the author. Stella Lopez seems to have it all, a great TV and film career, a handsome co-star of a boyfriend, a great PA/Best friend. But life isn’t always what it seems on the outside, and her TV series just ended, her boyfriend is a fake cover to help their careers, the only real thing is her PA/Best friend Willow. This leads to a boring life, she can’t have sex, as then the fake relationship would come out, but that’s okay Stella is still a little sore over her ex Knox and his new love Libby (Whom we met in Pop Rock).
Life is thrown another curve ball when her security guy Dallas has to take some leave to look after a very sick wife, but Dallas gets his brother to step into the breach and cover him, until a replacement can be found. Dallas brother comes in the form of Hudson Barnes, a Navy seal from a small town in Iowa, he has just returned home from deployment and had a sudden change of plans. When his brother asks him a favour he agrees as that’s what brothers do, and no matter what Dallas tells him, Hudson has his mind made up that he will be babysitting a spoiled princess. What he gets couldn’t be any more opposite.
Despite being opposites in every way possible, there is an attraction between them and they try to fight it, as it’s only a temporary gig, there can be no future can there?
Charity Ferrell is a great writer, the sex is hot without being fake, it’s funny and flirty and not overly serious about itself. Overall a really good hot and sweet read, with just enough sour to make it interesting.
This book was a great start to a series! This was my first Charity Ferrell read and it definitely won’t be my last. The two main characters, Stella and Hudson, come from two completely different backgrounds. Stella is a famous TV star letting her staff dictate her life post difficult breakup, and Hudson recently returned home from overseas and reeling from finding his fiancé cheating on him with his best friend. Doing his brother a favor, he steps in as Stella’s bodyguard, and sparks fly from there. The attraction between the two comes off the pages, and the bulk of the storyline is the two of them fighting said attraction and dealing with the fallout once they give into it and are exposed. I really enjoyed Charity’s writing of these characters; showing two strong individuals that have similar personalities that butt heads and provide a great story. The flow of the storyline was great and I also loved how it eluded to the next story – which I cannot wait to read!
I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
This was such a cute steamy read. It does sound cliche but sometimes the cliche plots are the best. The writing was great, the characters were very real and likable, and you finished the book loving the whole story. I also found Hudson Barnes to be a top notch book boyfriend.
The story line of a famous actress getting involved with her bodyguard sounds cliche but the author still makes you fall in love with the characters and root for them. I definitely recommend you reading this book for any romance fans.
I’m excited for Willow and Dallas’s book next! #readingislife #avidreaderblog #avidreader
For my first book by Charity Ferrell I can say I really liked it.
The whole time I was reading this I kept picturing Kevin Costner as the MC..is that weird?!
I liked the slow burn that had me going mad until they finally threw away the caution to the wind and had fallen into each other’s arms. Stella and Hudson were a great couple to get to know. Both have hung ups that needed to be dealt with and they almost cost them their future together.
Since this is book 1 I’m looking forward to seeing next Barnes sibling finding his HEA.

Just Her Bodyguard by Charity Ferrell is book One in the Blue Beech Sereis. This is the story of Hudson and Stella. Stella is a TV start who has aggressive fans and even a stalker it seems. So she goes forward to hire a bodyguard which leads her to meet Hudson. Hudson trying to help out his brother takes on the bodyguard job which he is no fan of stars TV or Movie. But Stella is turning out to be more than he every dreamed.
I read Just One Night then realized this was actually book 1 so I went back and read this one. I loved the characters and the story. This is one of those books you can just get lost in….I devoured this book in no time and started Just Exes as soon as I turned the last page. I love Charity’s story telling and can’t wait to read more of her books
Just Her Bodyguard is an engaging and witty romance. It’s a little more drawn out than I felt like it needed to be, but Stella and Hudson are good together. We get a good mix of sweet and sexy with some fun banter along the way. The story does get a bit angsty with a lot of push and pull, especially on Hudson’s part, but given his circumstances, it’s understandable. That angst is also balanced out with so many lighter moments. The thing that impressed me most with this one was the character development and storyline. Not just for Stella and Hudson, but for the secondary characters as well. They’re all interesting and lifelike with their different personalities, and the dialogue and interactions between them keep the story moving at a good pace. There are a couple of chapters toward the end that I felt like were more to set up the next book in the series than for any development between this pair, but that aside, I did enjoy the read.
I received a copy and voluntarily left a review and all opinions are my own.
This is the first book that I have read by Charity Ferrell and for some reason I didn’t connect with both the characters even though the story was interesting, I felt like something was missing. As much as I felt the disconnection, I did enjoy the story, so I will share with everyone what I liked about Stella and Hudson’s love story in Just Her Bodyguard. I do have to say the chemistry between these two is hot, hot, hot and you can’t help but fan yourself after reading some of their steamier scenes.
Hudson Barnes is a military man who came home to a cheating fiance and a disloyal best friend. Little does he know that being the new bodyguard to a Hollywood diva was going to land his heart and body into a complicated mess! I liked Hudson right from the start, even though he seemed to be judgmental at times. I looked past that and saw the broken heart underneath that needed to find love elsewhere. He was all dirty talk, delicious muscle, and heart that I couldn’t resist!
Stella Mendes is a heroine that I really couldn’t find any connection with except for the fact that she loves Hudson whole heartedly, so you know she has good taste. I adored her relationship between her and her personal assistant Willow and they kept me laughing with their quirky sense of humors when they got together. It took me awhile but I eventually saw the heart beneath this young woman who grew up under the cruel spotlights of Hollywood.
Charity Ferrell delivers a couple from different worlds who collide and become one, no matter the consequences to reputations or hearts involved. While this will never be my most favorite book around, it was an entertaining read and Charity so delicately teased us with Willow and Dallas in Just One Night that I am impatient to get back to this fictional world and get to know more about them. I have a feeling that they will end up being my favorite couple and Charity Ferrell will become a must read author for me. I can just feel it in my bones!
