Best friends, inseparable since childhood, one in love with the other, the other straight and in love with a woman.Stories like this don’t have a happy ending; James Grayson knows it. He puts on a smile, he laughs, he jokes, and he pretends he’s fine when Ryan kisses his girlfriend in front of him—until he can’t.Except nothing is easy and letting go turns out to be much harder than one might … might think. Some bonds are too strong to be broken, even for a straight man. And sometimes love and desire can have different faces and layers.
A story of two men trying to function without each other and failing.
Publisher’s note: this novel contains explicit M/M content and graphic language. Book #5 in the Straight Guys series. Although it can be read as a stand alone, it is preferable to have read Just a Bit Wrong, Zach Hardaway and Tristan DuVal’s story.

I just loved this series. I binged on the whole thing the past week. I picked these up after coming across them on Amazon when I was looking for something to read while I was bored. Now, I spent the whole week sneaking in time to read all of them. I’m going to miss this series now that I finished it. This was a new to me author, and I’m so glad I found her. I’m adding her to my auto one-click list. She’s so good and deserves more attention then she probably gets.
*Review posted to all books as a general review for whole series.
This has got to be my favorite installment thus far!!!
Jaime and Ryan’s story pulls at all your heart strings.
I found myself crying in several instances.
The profound emotions in this read make it an unforgettable experience.
This was a MASTERPIECE… BRAVA
It took me a little bit longer to get into this story unlike the first four books of the series. Ryan was just so reluctant to get into a romantic relationship with Jamie, and I found that reluctance hard to power through. Thank goodness for Tristan stepping in and slashing through their BS with his usual directness. Once Tristan started giving advice, the plot of the book picked up and I started to enjoy the story. Overall, I liked how it ended, and I liked how messed up and possessive both Jamie and Ryan are of each other, but this is my least favorite book of the series.
Ryan and James aka Jamie, have a very close friendship. One that everyone has questioned for as long as the boys have been friends.
It is no secret that Jamie loves Ryan and vice verse, what is a secret is that since puberty, Jamies has loved Ryan in more than a brotherly way.
Watching Ryan getting serious with his girlfriend was tearing Jamie up. Jamie tries to distance himself from his best friend to try and save his heart from breaking more than it already has been after seeing he was getting serious with his girlfriend.
Jamie is sick of hiding who he is and what his heart truly want. Ryan.
Ryan is straight – straighter than straight – and very much in love with his girlfriend. But his love, loyalty, and devotion to his self-proclaimed brother, has been and always will be more important to him, leaving him with a difficult decision. His best friend or his girlfriend.
Ryan isn’t interested in guys, but will do Anything to make “his” Jamie-Bear happy.
Even if it bends what he thinks is right.
The urge to have Jamie on his knees staring back at him with complete need sets Ryan on fire and confuses the hell out of him.
He can’t let go of seeing Jamie as his brother and Jamie can’t keep letting his heart be torn apart. He makes the decision for them, he has to walk away from the man he loves in order to save himself from the pain that’s tearing their friendship apart.
Tristan, bratty Tristan is back (Thank god for that!) and he has matured a little. His new found friendship with his both Jamie and Ryan come with some pretty epic advice and insight. Seems love has agreed with Tristan <3
The heartache, anguish and rawness between these two leaps right off the pages and rips through your heart. Changing how you see someone doesn’t happen overnight, it was a hard and heartbreaking path for both Ryan and Jamie. And when Ryan lets go of labels and lets himself truly feel the love he has for Jamie . . . . *sigh* Fireworks!
My only issue is it wasn’t long enough! I wanted more of these two as a couple. But I am overly eager to get on to Luke’s story. I mean come on, having “Stockholm syndrome” in the blurb was enough to have me #OneClicking like an addict
