So different from the movie and in a good way. I love both the film and book as separate things. Fantastic read.
Thoroughly enjoyed this book.
Read this book when it first came out, long before I had an ereader! It was a page- turner for sure.
Absolutely fantastic. Impossibly, the book is even better than the movie.
If you haven’t read it yet, read it!
This story is one of my kids favorites. The book is far superior to the movie.
I loved this book so much! Not just because it was nostalgic for me, but because it was so different from the movie, so it was almost like a whole new story where I wasn’t really sure what was going to happen. I also loved how certain things from this book were incorporated into later movies, even Jurassic World, like when the little girls, Lex …
Mr. Creighton was an amazing writer. It’s impossible to read this without being influenced by the movie, but I recommend it… it really nails the story in ways the movie totally dropped the ball.
Jurassic Park is one of Crichton’s best works. The original novel was way better than the movie adaptation.
Back before a dinosaurs became balloons at K-mart. There was Jurassic park.
The premise of turning amber into dinosaurs always fascinated me. And being able to picture the dinosaurs in my imagination was such fun. Of course later the movie came along, and we had music and CGI. But there’s nothing like reading a story long before anyone else …
I think the books outshine the movies but, the movies are still one of my favorites.
Never a dull moment
The book is so much better than the movie! Highly entertaining.
I bit all my nails off reading this.
Very slow beginning with a lot of explaining the science they used. If you keep reading, the later chapters just draw you in until you reach the end. Most of Crichton’s books are like that. Not an easy read, but if you’re into this, you’ll enjoy it.
Enjoyed very much. Loved Michael Crichton
Crichton was the KING of the techno thriller…may he RIP
Great!
Excellent books!!
I read this book a year before the movie was made. Loved it and would read it again and again
