From the best-selling author of War Roomcomes a Christy Award finalist, now a Lifetime original movie called Child of Grace.“I believed everything my daddy told me until I walked into Wal-Mart and saw my picture on a little poster . . .” For as long as she can remember, June Bug and her father have traveled the back roads of the country in their beat-up RV, spending many nights parked at … nights parked at Wal-Mart. One morning, as she walks past the greeter at the front of the store, her eyes are drawn to the pictures of missing children, where she is shocked to see herself. This discovery begins a quest for the truth about her father, the mother he rarely speaks about, and ultimately herself. But when her father’s past catches up with them, forces beyond his control draw them back to Dogwood, West Virginia, down a winding path that will change their lives forever.

This book starts off with a hook that won’t let you stop reading. A little girl staring at the pictures of missing kids on the wall in Walmart while waiting on her dad, sees her own picture. I loved the writing, the characters, the plot twists. I couldn’t put it down. I had to know how this was going to end.
I enjoy books by this author and this one was just as great,
This book was great from beginning to end. Our book club read it and all agreed to it being excellent. Our only question was how can Mr. Fabry ‘create’ the child – some of it was written from June Bug’s perspective and it was as if she wrote it!
Other books by Mr. Fabry were equally interesting – great topics!
I read this book for my upcoming book club and I can guarantee there will be a lively discussion. The main character of June Bug is a delight and I can imagine reading a sequel to this book. The author definitely wove together a story that I had to keep reading to discover the whole truth. On the downside, I did find myself skimming in parts as …
I really liked this book because I really couldn’t figure out how it was going to end. Therefore, I didn’t want to put it down and I really didn’t want it to end.
A new view of missing children. Sometimes they turn out well.
This could actually have happened. I loved this story. The characters are so believable that you can see them as you read. This is the second Chris Fabry book I have read and he is a great storyteller.
This was an easy read, but enjoyable, sweet and a great story. It made me want to read it in one sitting.
Sweet. Some mystery.
This wonderful book stayed with me and ran through my mind for days after I read it. There’s a little bit of a mystery, which I won’t spoil, but it keeps you guessing throughout the story. Wonderful characters you won’t forget!
Great story
I really enjoyed this book It was not what I expected but very entertaining even if not realistic! I loved the main characters.
This is a wonderful story that gives an interesting twist to a missing child case. This was very heartwarming!
incredibly sweet, funny at times, sad at other times. Very well written and very insightful in describing the thoughts of a 10 year old.
I loved this book!!!! Great story!!!
This is a great book that reminds us there is good all around us.
Enjoyed this story and how the story turned out.
Just ok, nothing great
Did’nt want this book to end. Very similar to Jodi Picoults style of writing and character building. Loved it !
I read this book thinking I would see if it was something my granddaughter might like, but I was blown away by the whole premise of the book, and grew to love the character June Bug. I ordered it for my granddaughter, and am so glad I took the time to read it!
