I liked the plot and the characters as a whole but found it could be boring at some points. It was an overall good book and loved learning about Lacey and her struggles and how she a person dealt with them and the men in her life.
i love this book i Love Lacey so much .. seeing how slowly she open up to idea to finding love.. her friend want her to give Blake a chance and ypu can she spark between them but then there is Shane that seem to also spark something in her .. cant wait to read more of her story and who will she pick ..hurry get this book you wont regret
This is a new author for me and I found myself really enjoying this book. I did get thrown for a loop on how the chapters started but I slowly was engrossed with the story.
The topics in this one are real life struggles. Lacey is learning about love for the first time. Has she found it.
June 9th is about Lacey who has MD, and gets around in a wheelchair. She was brought to the states by her aunt when she was very young. She has not seen or heard from her family in Russia for many years, and she finds herself missing them and wondering about them. Her aunt does not like talking about the past, but that makes Lacey more determined to find her dad, sister and mom. Lacey is in college, and finds herself having feelings for Blake. Due to her past, she does not like anyone touching her, but especially men. She is really surprised when Blake touches her, and she is fine with it, she even likes it. Blake also encourages her to look into and try to find her family. Lacey is also attracted to Shane. They try having a relationship, but it doesn’t really work out. Months later they try again, and it’s going OK until it’s not. I’m torn between the guys but Shane is so hot and cold, that I would rather her be with Blake. There is a significance to the date, but you really don’t find out what it is, until the end of the book. I loved that the book showcases Lacey and her stigma’s and feelings of being inadequate because she is in a wheelchair. I have not read many books where the main character is in a wheelchair, and definitely not young characters. I have lots of hope for Lacey, her Aunt Kate and her papa, the one phone call with the three of them was amazing. I look forward to reading the next book in the series to see how everything works out and what happens next.
There were parts of this story that I really loved and parts that I didn’t care a whole lot for. Lacey having a disability was interesting because I don’t see that a lot in the books I read. The back and forth break up/make up between Lacey and Shane kind of gave me whiplash. Overall this was a pretty good book and I will read the next one so I can see what happens with these two!!
Lacey has some insecurities, especially being in a wheel chair. She can’t stand to be touched. She meets 2 boys, Blake and Shane. She has feelings for both but one a bit more. I loved reading how it all turned out.
Such a unique book. Lacey is a
Multidimensional character. She is wheelchair bound and is guarded about how others treat her. She meets Blake who stirs something deep within her.
Then she meets Shane and he taps into her emotions as well.
You can relate to Lacey with her insecurities and questions of the genuineness of others. She has dealt with and continues to deal with so much . Well written read.
This is my first book by this author but it definitely won’t be my last. You ever find yourself wondering what happens after the book is over/ the story has ended? Then this book definitely does that to you. I did not think I would enjoy this book as much as I did. Fantastic book and highly recommended.
College student
This is Lacey story as a young college student with disabilities and dealing with being in a wheel chair .It was a emotional time for her she was also dealing with missing her family,The story itself was great but I found it dragged on …in some areas
What a book!!!
I absolutely loved this story but I want to know more about Lacey and Shane. Lacey was taken from her family to have a better life and get the help she needed to live for a long time. Blake is a boy that she met in one of her classes and she began to have feelings for him. She wants love and to be loved. Blake helped her to open herself up for something she wants but was only a friend. Then came Shane. Shane has a lot of things he holds in his past and Lacey tries to understand his need to hold them and leave them there but she doesn’t get it. They begin a relationship slow but he can’t help but want more. The thing is Lacey and Shane have never truly been in a relationship and are working through it and learning as they go. Their love for each other is so full. I did cry a few times during the book because I could feel how Lacey was in pain. Her Aunt has been hiding the truth from Lacey and she comes clean it’s an emotional book but so amazing I just want more.
Liked that this story was about real life struggles. Not the easy perfect people this most are about. Brought awareness to the struggle of MD. I couldn’t decided if I wanted her with Shane or. Lake. Still back and forth about it.
