A bit jerky with the back and forth but good overall
Interesting read about the origins of the Romeo and Juliet tale (before Shakespeare!) and a look into life in Sienna Italy in the 1300s. Fascinating and engrossing read.
Loved it!
Took a while to engage me, but then the story unfolded. Many historical references. Somewhat unpredictable and I like that
It was a good escape and enjoyable reading.
Good read.
I read about half and then lost interest.
The threads of Juliet’s direct blood relationship to her namesake were a bit too loose-knit, and the resolution of the end of the book felt rushed and somewhat cobbled together to bring it to a speedy end after a very long and drawn out process getting there. Still, an interesting and fresh premise.
Good read, entertaining when you want something a bit lighter.
This was a wonderful mix of historical fact and an action-packed thriller. Setting was excellently described. Most enjoyable and highly recommended.
This book moved along at a quick pace, which kept me turning the pages and wondering what was going to happen next! The premise is a little far-fetched, but fascinating and romantic at the same time. It really drew me in and kept me reading.
For Shakespeare lovers, mystery fans, and romance readers! This book makes me want to revisit Sienna and see out through new eyes.
This was a pleasant surprise! Really enjoyed this read.
