I’m not new to M.E Carters work I’ve read her charity endeavor novels and loved them. I recently started on her backlog and can’t wait to finish the Texas Mutiny series.
I’ve enjoyed Daniel, Quincy and the adorable Chance. I highly recommend reading this series.
I recently made a commitment to myself to start clearing some books off of my TBR. When I find myself with some reading downtime, I flip randomly through my kindle until my finger snags on a book – and that’s how I came to finally pick up Juked after all this time!
And now I have regrets. Because this book was really good. It’s everything I love about sports romance (even beyond the fact that it’s a sports romance which is already one of my very favorite tropes). What took me so long? How did I miss this? Why haven’t I been reading these books this whole time?!
Juked is the perfect blend of emotional and playful, heartfelt and flirty, and it somehow manages to be both simple and complex. There are some emotional punches for sure, and some moments so adorable my heart couldn’t stand the cuteness. It’s sexy and sweet and overall just completely satisfying.
I might have liked a little more from the ending. I felt like the conflict resolution was more simple than Daniel really deserved and so it would have felt gratifying to have a more “happily ever after” than a “happy for now” ending from it. It’s the one small area where things sort of fell a little flat for me. But I still tore through this book, completely on the hook, and completely enamored of Daniel and Quincy’s story.
What a happy surprise! And now I have more of these fantastic books to dive into! I can’t wait to see what this team has in store for me next!
Though this book has some spicy scenes, what surprised me was the speed in which it developed. It wasn’t love at first sight. It moved slowly even up to the ending was . Very sweet and enjoyable.
Liked it a lot. Wasn’t ready for it to end. Good read.
Really good!
I loved this book and couldn’t put it down
In my opinion M E Carter did an excellent job of character development.specifically in creating characters within the plot line who are thoughtful, caring and ultimately dignified, yet they fit into the action very easily. Thank You M E Carter for this very worthwhile story.
I loved this book. The whole plot was wonderful, the family vibes throughout were heartwarming, and the tragic parts were cushioned in love. A great, feel-good read.
It was a very good book love it
Fun story
Good story
The beginning of my book made me tear up, it really did. Quincy had her world taken from her and then thrust into “motherhood” with a 2 month old baby she didn’t know her sister had. Yea, I had a few tears well up. Hard situation for anyone but Quincy was a rockstar and rose above her grief and her nervousness and did what she needed to do for her nephew.
Daniel was a great charter, so sweet when he first met Quincy crying in the baby aisle trying to decide what brand of formula to buy. Even though he has a notorious track record for being the playboy and never wanting a relationship, he felt drawn to her and wanted to help her. It was sweet.
I haven’t read too many soccer books so it was refreshing to read about a different sport than i normally read about. Most things are the same though, the groupies, the fans, the bitchy girls who thinks they can have the players and no one else. Yea, it has all that drama and I serious love when Genevieve puts them in their place. Lol. Genevieve is a great secondary character, I adore her feistiness!
There were just a few things that things that got me though. The timeline didn’t always match. So I was already trying to figure out the age and timeline in my head. Lol!
****article in the paper stated Quincy had custody of her 7 month old nephew but then when they go to his moms house, his brother Eduardo asked when she met Daniel. She’s says 6/7 months ago when her sister died. The baby was 2 months old when they met. So, if he’s now 7 months old, then they would have met 5 months prior not 6 or 7 months ago. And just a week before going to his mamas house she said that chance was 6 months old. (Which he could have turned 7 months during that week so no biggie lol).
And Daniel first says his mom has 13 grandchildren, then later says she has 14. Lol!!
But all in all, I really liked this story. The characters were great, the drama was great and had enough angst to keep me reading! Enough so, that I want to read the other 2 books in the series.
Cute and entertaining
