Chandler Moon’s career as a defensemen for the IceCats is on fire. However, his marriage has gone up in flames…literally. He’s resigned himself to the single life and being the best dog dad he can be, but he still holds out hope that one day he’ll find “The One.” So, imagine his surprise when he runs into “The One Who Got Away.”Amelia Justice. His best friend’s baby sister.AKA: “The One Who Is … One Who Is Totally Off-Limits”
Amelia is broken. The punches that life, and her ex-husband, have thrown at her have her down for the count. She’s cut herself off from her family and friends as she works to rebuild her self-esteem and her spirit. Hidden away in a small town, she never expects to reconnect with “The One She Should Have Chosen.”
Chandler is so much more than he was in college: more handsome, more muscular, more tattooed… It was supposed to be a casual fling while Amelia and Chandler worked to put the pieces of their lives back together.
But as every good hockey player knows, a rebound can turn into one hell of a goal.

Oh how I love Aleo Books! I love that the assassins, bullies and now the Icecats all tie into each other. I love that you get updates on the characters. And oh how I love her characters. If you have read either of the assassins or bullies you will have met both Amelia and Chandler the two main characters in Juicy Rebound.
Both have gone through recent very upsetting breakups/divorce. Amelia doesn’t quite feel ready to move on, where as Chandler takes one look at her(he is her brothers bff and they havent seen each other in years) and is ready and willing to move on. Amelias cousin convinces her to have a rebound to help her move on, but in the end convinces her to actually try dating Chandler.
We get glimpses of other characters from previous books and how everyone is doing. We also get to see these two amazing characters grow and love again.
I am so excited for book 2 and am so hoping it may be a Shelli book(Amelias cousin)
Chandler, Chandler, Chandler, yes please!!! What a swoon-worthy man!!
Juicy Rebound was everything that I didn’t know I needed! This friends to lovers read was absolutely AMAZING! Chandler and Amelia are both getting over marriages that just didn’t work for a million different reasons and wind up running into one another at Amelia’s job.
These two have had sparks before and things have not changed in that department at all! Chandler is completely swoon-worthy, has the patience of a saint, and wants Amelia something fierce. The only problem is she is his best friends little sister. Amelia while attracted to Chandler, is absolutely petrified to get involved with Chandler.
There story is one that will bring you through quite the array of emotions and I loved every single second of it. These two will help each other mend their broken pieces and I was so happy to take that journey with them. They are each strong for one another when needed and care for each other deeply.
Toni Aleo scored some major goals with this read. The writing was phenomenal, the characters and character development were perfection and I cannot wait to see what will come our way next! Beautiful job!
This will definitely be in my top reads of 2019 and since it’s the beginning of the year, that’s some major praise!
Juicy Rebound is the first book in the new Icecats series. The book is about Amelia Justice and Chandler Moon, little sister and best friend of respectively of Ryan Justice from the Bellevue Bullies series. Amelia and Chandler are both divorced after each having disastrous marriages. They randomly meet again at a coffee shop Amelia is working at. This seems like fate to Chandler, who believes that Amelia is “the one who got away,” while Amelia believes she is in no place to start a relationship. I loved this book. I loved how much Chandler was all in with his relationship with Amelia and believes it is finally their time at love. I also loved Amelia, how cautious she was and how she knew she had to heal before continuing with another relationship. Her marriage was horrible and she was damaged from what happened. If you love hockey, these characters, and have been waiting for Amelia and Chandler’s love story, you won’t be disappointed.
This is a good beginning to a new series. I didn’t know what to expect with a new series in the works, but Toni did the darn thing. I’m excited to see where she takes us on this new journey.
H and h were fantastic characters with realistic life problems.
Amelia is so defeated here. She hasn’t had an easy time with the choices she made. I enjoyed watching her story unfold. As the pages turned, I was able to see the old Amelia. Chandler was completely made for her. Chandler is the strong and steady type (swoon). If anyone knows where to find a real life Chandler…. Let me know. I’d like to meet him.
On another note. The secondary characters were just as great as H/h. I can only hope that Shelli and Nico end up together. They’re perfect! I hope he randomly says “ marry me.” And she says “yes.” I don’t care about the circumstances. Hahaha
Anyone who knows me knows that Shea is my man. Absolutely love him!!! The reason that I’m mentioning him is because Chandler comes in a close second! Yes indeedy!!! I absolutely adore him. *sigh* He’s not pushy, he’s supporting and loving no matter the circumstance. He’s there every step of the way for Amelia.
Amelia is scared of what she feels for Chandler than you throw in her brother and oh my. Will she be able to open her heart even though she’s been hurt in the past? I LOVED this story and could not get enough of it.
I’ve been with this series since the beginning, and I have loved every single one of them. Although this is the next generation, the Assassins is one family I can’t get enough of. Amelia and Chandler are finally getting their chance at a HEA. The two have always had feeling for each other, but since Chandler is Amelia’s brother’s best friend, nothing comes of it until both suffer through failed marriages to other people. Amelia runs to her grandma’s beach house to try and get her life back together when she runs into Chandler. Feeling awaken in the couple, and what starts as a rekindled friendship quickly turns to more. I took my time reading this book because I just didn’t want it to end, and I’m so excited for the next book in the series.
Juicy Rebound is a second chance/my best friends sister romance that was absolutely “juicy”! This was easily a five star read for me as it contained everything needed to make a good romance.
Amelia and Chandler are both recently divorced and run into each other by chance one day. They have known each other since they were in college, but Chandler’s best friend was also Amelia’s big brother.
Chandler eventually talks Amelia into letting him in and seeing where life and love take them. And let me tell you, it is a beautiful journey! Juicy Rebound is my first Toni Aleo book and it will not be my last!
O!M!G! I NEED a Chandler Moon hug!!!! I so love Ms. Aleo’s hockey series’, yes, she has more than one, and 3 of them are in some way intertwined, starting with the Nashville Assassins series, continuing with Bellevue Bullies, and now the IceCats.
Ms. Aleo’s latest release, Juicy Rebound is the 1st book in the IceCats series, and OMG I totally loved Amelia and Chandler!!! Their story….sigh!!
Chandler has had a “thing” for Amelia for many years. The problem, Amelia is his best friend’s little sister, and the hockey “bro” code. So, she is off limits… Chandler wants what his parents have, and ends up marrying a girl after 3 weeks against his parents’ wishes, only to find out later that his parents were right about her and they divorce. She was bat sh… (PG, I must keep this PG). Let me put it this way, she was a real nut job!!! After his ex-wife “accidently” burns his house down, he moves to the other side of town. He goes into the local coffee shop and there she is!!! Amelia and after several years, he finds her just as beautiful as ever. He is NOT giving this second chance up. He is going to go after Amelia with skates blazing!!!
Meeting her brother’s best friend, OH! MY! Is he HOT!!! And that kiss at the frat house party…. But alas, Chandler is her brother’s best friend, and she knows that she is not what Chandler is looking for as a girlfriend anyway, but sigh, a nice dream. She ends up going back to her old boyfriend and they marry. What a disaster, and she has the emotional scars to prove it, she divorced his butt!!! After the divorce, she moves into her grandmother beachfront house and working at the local coffee shop until she can get her life back together. Looking up at the next customer, wow, it is Chandler Moon, at her counter!!! He gives Amelia the biggest, best hug, EVER!!!!
Ladies, there are 13 books between the 3 series, and I think this is one is my absolute favorite. I really liked hearing about some of the characters from previous books. I freaking loved the description of Shea Adler….sigh, sorry Elle. I really enjoy reading about the next generation from all of the families from previous books. Then, the hint about possibly the next book in the series…. EEEK!!!!! Shellie and Aiden?!?!?! I CAN’T WAIT!!!!
Ladies, if you love hockey romance, this book is DEFINITELY for you!!! Go you your favorite book vendor and buy this book! You will not be disappointed.
Thank you for reading my review. Now, what are you waiting for, go hit that buy button!!!
I have loved every book of Toni Aleo’s that I have read (almost all of them) but this one is the best. I love familiar characters, those we have met as children or in college. I love that they now have a past of life experiences some good some bad. Chandler and Amelia’s story really touched me because there are so many feelings, it gutted me and it made my heart happy. They both had bad marriages and both had a lot of healing to do. Amelia had to rebuild her life and was doing it on her own until Chandler re-entered her life. This book has an amazing storyline that deals with hard issues and lots of love. I really enjoyed revisiting characters from the Assassins series. GREAT book.
4.5 Stars
I really enjoyed this one. Chandler was dreamy and top book boyfriend material. He had many swoon worthy moments in this book. One of them is him being referred to as a dog dad I mean right there has me sold on Chandler. He was exactly who Amelia needs in her life. For Amelia and Chandler they are each others the one that got away. Now fate has put these two back in each others orbit. This book had me laughing, crying, and happy sighing. The humor was one of my favorite things. I really liked Chandler and Nico’s friendship. Their banter always had me in stitches. Amelia is such a strong character for everything she’s gone through hits you right in the heart. Watching her gain self confidence with the help of Chandler is truly beautiful. I highly recommend this book because it keeps you entertained, but also it’s so romantic.
In hockey, a rebound occurs when ‘the puck bounces off the boards or the goalkeeper’s equipment,’ either providing the offense a second opportunity to score or placing the puck on one of the defenseman’s sticks forcing play to head towards the other end of the ice. A rebound that’s ‘juicy’ is one where scoring a goal is at a premium, putting the pressure solely on the shoulders of the player who snags the rebound, hoping the puck hits the back of the net.
In personal relationships, a rebound makes someone feel second best…someone who is USED to get over the person who dumped the user…someone who will never be enough because they’re merely a distraction…a way to move on and still feel comforted in some way, even if it’s only a physical comfort.
Thankfully, when it comes to a rebound in hockey, Chandler Moon is quite apt at maneuvering those to his team’s advantage…now, do they sometimes take a bad bounce and end up hurting the IceCats? Absolutely, but Chandler’s an excellent defenseman, which means he knows how to do his job.
Personally, Chandler Moon may be up for a rebound or two since his divorce, but it’s beyond clear that he is not really a rebound kind of guy and when it comes to Amelia Justice, his best friend’s little sister and the object of his past infatuation, Chandler doesn’t view her as a rebound and he’s hellbent on proving that fact to Amelia as well, even if he leads Amelia to believe that, that’s all they’ll be if that’s what she needs in order to give him a chance.
The fact that Amelia is more than a little gun-shy when it comes to relationships is understandable. She lost herself, her family, and her passion for a sport she loved, and that’s going to take time to come back from, because not only does she have to heal from the loss of her marriage, but the heartbreak from her family making her choose between her ex and them and that ultimatum destroyed her and made her feel utterly alone, which means that the path of forgiveness and healing will take time to work through, but it seems Amelia is ready…she just may need a bit of a push to get things started…thankfully, a certain professional hockey player will help Amelia in any and all ways that he can.
Chandler and Amelia rushed into their respective marriages when they were younger, completely wrapped up in what they thought would be their forever love, but now they’re both on a new journey in life and hopefully in love and the fact that there was a connection between them back in college and it’s one that continues in the present helps readers to hold on tight as Amelia heals a bit more and figures out that even though she thought she was only looking for a rebound that what she was really searching for and hoping for was to get a second chance with Chandler Moon.
I’ll never get enough of Toni Aleo’s sports romances and the way she includes the characters’ hockey family members and their actual families. Both groups are pivotal to the success of the hero and heroine, which means that all actions taken to push the main characters and/or to make them aware of everything that is happening around them is done with good intentions, even if the male and female leads don’t feel that way in the beginning or even at the end.
Juicy Rebound is a great start to Aleo’s new hockey romance series, and I’m excited to see where she takes her IceCats both personally and professionally.
4.5 Poison Apples
You can always count on Toni Aleo to deliver a truly heartfelt and engaging book. And with Juicy Rebound, the first book in a new series, she’s done it again.
This book is one of heartbreak, forgiveness, acceptance, re-awakening and trusting in your heart. And as always Ms. Aleo does this in such a caring and heartwarming way with her usual humor thrown in for good measure.
Amelia and Chandler have both had their hearts broken and their faith in love tested since first meeting back in college. But both are now out of bad marriages, Amelia’s far worse than Chandler’s, and they are trying to pick up the pieces and heal. After an encounter with a playful dog on a beach, Amelia and Chandler find one another again and their healing begins.
Find out how this up and coming hockey star who once hope for a relationship with a former college gymnast learn to trust and love again.
A brand new Toni Aleo book that was nothing short of fantastic! Go Ice Cats!!!
I love big family books…The Assassins series is one of my all time faves! This next gen series is going to be so much fun to read if Chandlers book is like the rest…
Filled with drama, angst, sexy chemistry, love, sadness and don’t worry, a hea.
Chandler and Amelia have both suffered through hard times. Will fate change the future they didnt know they even wanted?!?
Gah I loved this story! Definitely settle in, I devoured it! Highly recommend!
Chandler Moon has worked hard to become a player in the NHL, so when his marriage fails, it takes its toll on him. He has struggled over the last several months and has learned that he has to do what makes him happy.
When he runs into a flame from his past, Amelia Justice, something inside him reawakens. Over the last few years she has become even more beautiful than he remembers. She also shares the same pain of a ruined marriage and they are able to heal from each other through their friendship. Chandler wants to make Amelia his woman for good, but there is only one problem… she is his best friend’s sister. She has always been off limits, but Chandler can’t seem to stay away from Amelia.
Will Chandler risk everything, including his best friend, at a second chance at happiness? Or will fate once again decide that he and Amelia aren’t meant to be?
(I received and ARC of Juicy Rebound from Toni Aleo in exchange for my honest review.)
Juicy Rebound is the sweet love story of two characters that you may recognize from some of Toni Aleo’s previous stories. Chandler and Amelia have both suffered the loss of a marriage and are able to find comfort in each other’s arms. If you are a fan of Toni’s work, then you will love this novel just the same!
It’s a new generation, luckily for fans of the Assassins Hockey series, and the kids are growing up! Juicy Rebound is the first book in the new IceCats series, featuring a Justice offspring. This Sports Romance story is also a second chance romance; for the boy who let the girl he liked get away years ago, it’s a chance for a do over he’s always dreamed of. To take a leap of faith, after they’ve both been unlucky in love and bear the scars to prove it. Told in dual POV, this story sweeps you along as they slowly recall their past history and the pain they’ve endured along the journey. It’s a little emotional and there’s a subject that a lot of people might have issues with, so for gals with triggers be sure to ask someone before reading.
“I don’t ever want to regret not doing something with you.”
Amelia Justice had cut herself off from the family she’d been so close to, for too many years, after making a decision she’d come to regret. The only person she’d kept by her side, and confided in, was her cousin, Shellie. The last person she ever expected to see walking back into her life was Chandler, her brother’s best friend, and the boy who she once dreamed could’ve been ‘The One’, had she not been so blinded by her now ex. Still weary and distrustful when it comes to letting anyone close to her, Amelia tries to keep him at arm’s length. It’s a good thing Chandler’s a big guy and doesn’t seem to get the message.
Chandler Moon is playing for the IceCats, a professional hockey team, and is very pleasantly shocked to run into Amelia, the girl he had a crush on so many years ago and never forgot. He’d stupidly refrained from pursuing Amelia when he had the chance, not wanting to upset Ryan, and it seemed they both had made foolish choices they now regret. Now both divorced, he just needs to convince Amelia to give him the chance he missed the first time.
“A real man looks at your flaws and loves them because they’re part of you. He doesn’t look at you just as a right not. He looks to the future.”
Amelia has a reason to be skittish; the man she loved and trusted obliterated her faith in men and of ever finding the kind of love her parents had, while destroying her self-confidence. And Chandler’s determined to prove to Amelia that he can be trusted and can handle her with kid gloves, and he wants to see the confident Amelia he remembers and fell for so many years ago. Nothing good comes easy and these two prove it!
WOW. First off, I think this is now my favorite book by Toni Aleo. This story has all the raw emotions, moments where you ball your eyes out, swoon worthy moments, and the moments where you just melt from the chemistry between Chandler and Amelia. Amelia is a stubborn, prideful, and strong woman. She has been through a lot and it she is trying to move on and become herself again. Chandler is a lovable, hot, and makes you swoon every time. Chandler and Amelia both have past relationships and trying to move on. Theses two pull you in and make you feel as if your there with them and feel all the emotions. Chandler and Amelia have a connection that can’t be denied and fill the pages with witty banter, laugh out moments, and ones that make your heart melt. I just loved everything about their journey and definitely a favorite of the year!
I think at least half of my book reviews are Toni Aleo books. What can I say I LOVE HER!!! ‘Assassins’ series is my all time favorite series and you can find reviews of all the books from the series in my previous posts. For ‘Assassins’, my wish was for it to never end and come on when you have a whole bunch of hockey players, who starts falling in love left and right and then start popping out babies then you start wondering what is happening with the kids. Sooooo now Toni Aleo presents her brand new series ‘IceCats’ which is Amelia Grace Justice and Chandler Eugene Moon’s story. Before getting into my review, I want to let you know how this story is connected to the previous books. Also, if you haven’t read the previous books, no worries this book can be read as a standalone. Amelia is niece of Shea Adler, famous captain of the Nashville Assassins. We first meet Amelia when she is a baby in Shea and Elli’s story ‘Taking Shots’, first book of Assassins series. Then again we see bits and pieces her and also meet out hero Chandler in ‘End Game’, which is Amelia’s brother and Chandler’s best friend Ryan’s story. And there is also an novella, which I totally recommend all of you to read, about Amelia’s parents, Grace and James, ‘How We Fell In Love’.
Amelia left everything behind, her family, college, gymnastic team, her friends to follow her high school boyfriend Drew when an NHL team drafted him. Her only wish was to have what her mom and dad had. However, after marrying Drew, she realized that she made a huge mistake. Drew, the a**hole, broke her. Now after her divorce, she is hiding in a small town and trying to piece her life back together. Only person who is on her corner is her cousin Shelli, until the day Chandler, the one she should have chosen, walks in to the coffee shops she works at. Chandler went through a hell of a marriage too. Now that he has been a divorcee for a year, he is ready to get back to dating life. What he didn’t anticipate was to run in to Amelia, the one who got away. In college he only got a kiss from Amelia, but she was his best friend’s little sister and totally off limits but now he is all in. He wants to be with her. Even though, he doesn’t know what went down between Drew and Amelia, he can see that Amelia is not ready. With Chandler being back in her life, all the feeling she was feeling for him back as well. Their chemistry is still sizzling hot. He is still same kind, funny and loyal. And Amelia thinks she is not good enough for him. But thanks to Shelli and her persuasion, Amelia decides to give Chandler a chance. Even though, they both have amazing marriage examples in front of them, they both got burned with their first time. They are so good for each other. The way Amelia gets her life back together and start healing with Chandler’s help and love was inspirational. What I love the most with all Toni Aleo books are, she always shows us the importance of family and friendship. Family doesn’t always have to be by blood and this story is an amazing example of that. It was amazing to see little bit of my all time favorite couple Elli and Shea. Also, Nico Merryweather, aka Merry, who is Chandler’s teammate and Shelli’s hook-up, is an amazing character. At the end of ‘Juicy Rebound’ you will learn that the next book will be for Shelli. I just hope that her hero will be Merry and not Aiden Brooks. I love Aiden but somehow in my mind he is matched with Posey. Sorry my Assassins fan crazy persona is out and unloading all the names at you 🙂 If you want me to wrap it up quickly Posey is Shelli’s sister and Aiden is Shelli’s crush since childhood. But Shelli and Merry seems amazing so I am voting for them 🙂
For me ‘Juicy Rebound’ was one of the most anticipated books for me and I am proud to say, it didn’t disappoint. It was everything I was expecting and more. ‘Juicy Rebound’ was sweet, inspiring, sexy, heartbreaking, heartwarming, and so much more.
Would I recommend this book: Yes.
Would I re-read this book: Yes.
Would I read future books by this author: Yes.
Another hit for Toni Aleo! I love the way she just drops you right into the action in her books. Fantastic, relatable characters and off the charts chemistry. This is a 5+ star read hockey romance fans will adore!
I couldn’t wait to read the first book of this new series and I was not disappointed! I knew I was going to love it when I found myself laughing before I had even finished the second page!
Just when I think Toni Aleo can’t possibly make me swoon any more than I have with every other book of hers, she brings a long Chandler Moon. He might look like a bad boy, but he has a heart of gold and loves with his entire being. Gone is the typical guy we read about that has commitment issues and doesn’t know what he wants. He knows from the start and never questions that. I’ve read a lot of books, but I’ve never read about someone as sweet and gentle as Chandler, which is just perfect for Amelia.
Amelia was looking for the kind of love her parents had and at a very vulnerable point in her life, thought she had that with the wrong guy. Her story is heartbreaking, but to see her find herself with help from Chandler made me happy cry.
If you are an Assassins fan or if you read Ryan’s story, End Game, then you will love getting a glimpse of his life (cue more happy crying) as well as a look at what we might see in later books about some of the other Assassins’ kids.
This book has it all with some hockey, second chances, and steamy romance, but most of all it shows that anyone with a good support system can overcome their past and come out even stronger because of it.
I’ve been waiting for Amelia’s book since the very first Toni Aleo book I read, which was Taking Shots. And I’ve been waiting for Amelia and Chandler’s story since End Game. When Juicy Rebound finally arrived, my heart was full. This was the perfect reunion and healing book. Amelia needed the simple love and devotion of Chandler. And Chandler needed to give his pure love to someone who deserved it and could love him back.
I was a little concerned when Chandler and Amelia first reunited because he was persistent in asking her out. However, it wasn’t creepy but rather showing that he wanted to be there for her in any way she’d let him. What started as a rebound for the both of them quickly grew into something more. As much as I loved their relationship, I also loved watching Amelia’s relationship with her family heal. The life choices she and her family made drove them about but part of her healing is reuniting with them as well. Her relationship with her cousin Shelli didn’t suffer and I loved her subplot and hints at her future. And you know I’m anxiously awaiting Shelli’s book now too!
Juicy Rebound is, quite simply, a book of healing and love. And it will be a reread book for when I need that simple beauty in my life.
