Beautiful Biker, Book 2 – The Ride Continues. A wild, dangerous, angsty, sexy AF ride. In book 1, Detour, we heard that Beautiful Biker Rider Valentine had cuffed the very angry Jenna to his bed in order to keep her from putting herself in the Wyld Jackals MC line of fire. How did all that go? Read Joyride and find out!The Wyld Jackals are determined to make their point: They don’t want the …
They don’t want the Dominion Brotherhood MC moving in on their territory and they’ll use any means necessary to make that point: including hurting Dominion Brotherhood women.
Despite Jenna trying to retreat to protect her heart after Rider shows signs of alpha-hole-ism, Rider chips away at her defenses while going to extremes to keep her safe from the Wyld Jackals. Through that, he sees something in Jenna that makes him want commitment for the first time in his life.
How hard will Jenna make him work to win her over? Can Jenna overcome the things she knows, the things she saw, the fears she has from being burnt in the past?
Is the fight to keep him from cracking her protective shield futile? And will Rider simply lose interest once the threat is neutralized?
Warning: Sex, Violence, Angst, some laugh-out-loud moments, a few tears, a very stubborn heroine, and a deliciously irresistible alpha male (sometimes alpha-hole) biker.
The Beautiful Biker series books are standalone but connected and overlapping stories. Each book focuses on a different couple and could be read as standalone, but reading in order will provide the best reading experience.

Joyride is the second book in D.D. Prince’s Beautiful Biker series and it gives us the middle one of the Beautiful Biker brothers, Rider! You probably could read it as a standalone but as some of the timeline overlaps with the others in the series then I would recommend reading them all in order. You will get so much more out of all of the stories!
So, Rider, what can I say, he is one beautiful biker that has the females falling at his feet right and left and he believes that there will never be the one woman that will tie him down and when he has his moments with Jenna it does not seem that she is the one either … well, let’s through into the mix Ella and her kidnapping and drama and the whole chessboard changes and finally, Rider needs to fight for a woman and he needs to do some soul searching to decide whether he will stick through thick and thin and climb the walls that Jenna has built around her and oh my, that demolition of those walls is one intense undertaking!
There are many lessons that both Rider and Jenna need to learn AND these are the lessons that we all need to keep in mind when going around in the world and judging the books by their covers … so having the characters that are deeply flawed and who work hard for their relationship … heck yeah, relationship goals, here we come!
Of course we have the underlying Dominion Brotherhood and Wyld Jackals war going on and yeah … take hold of the edge of your seat
Jenna Murdoch thought that she had found a guy who had potential to be more, Rider Valentine was exactly opposite of the type she went for but something about him made her want more. Rider though thought she was just wanting to take a walk on the wild side and what they had was just fun. However his rival MC thinks Jenna means more to him then she does and makes a play to get her. Throw in a video text that has Jenna wanting nothing to do with Rider, Jenna finds herself under Rider’s protection and he decides she is what he wants in a woman but Jenna is having none of it. Can she learn to trust Rider or will she end up losing the best thing that has happened to her.
There is a lot more to this story, I didn’t think the chemistry between Jenna and Rider was as electric as Deacon and Ella though. Jenna was a bit more angsty then I thought she would be. I did like the story though and was curious as to how this would all end up with the trouble swirling around Rider. Had a few surprises along the way which i had not expected either. Great series so far.
What a great book! After reading the first book in the series, Detour, I jumped right into reading Joyride. I loved Rider’s story and found the same character development and time taken to tell the story without rushing through. I found Rider just as appealing as Deacon. I love how the story is sequential and follows a timeline from book to book. It allows you to get a glimpse of characters introduced in the previous books. I am chomping at the bit to read Spencer’s story!!
4.5 stars
One of my favorite things about literature is to find a book that can make me feel all the emotions. This is an example of this. At times I found myself chuckling out loud and others I wanted to scream . I vacillated in my emotions a lot in this book. One of my favorite things about this author is that she writes with such detail and precision that the reader becomes entwined in the story. They can visualize every aspect of the story as if they stepped onto the pages of the book. This author does not know how to write a short story and as an avid reader I appreciate this. It doesn’t matter what she is writing, whether it is a paranormal, alien, mafia or MC romance, she gives it everything and does not scrimp.
This book is a continuation of the Beautiful Biker series and follows Detour. It can be read as a standalone. However, I would recommend reading it first to truly appreciate what is happening in the story. It gives a new perspective or added details to the same events which was much appreciated.
It is the story of Jenna and Rider. Jenna a complete princess that was very high maintenance and the opposite of Rider in every way. Her love of material things wasn’t because she was snooty but instead was a coping mechanism to hide her true desire which was to be loved. Rider. Sweet holy hell. I need to know what they put in the water in his neck of the woods because the Valentine men have sex appeal in spades. I love his mouth and how steadfast he is in regards to his feelings toward Jenna. I wavered a couple times with whether he was was genuine because of his actions in the very beginning but then the pieces fell into place and I didn’t doubt his intentions. He had the patience of a saint which is good because Jenna could have tried even the patience of Pope Francis. The steam in this book…holy titfire. This author can write steam. She could even make a nonsmoker need an after sex cigarette.
If you like MC romance then give this book a try. Then, go back and read all the books. There isn’t a bad series out there.
Jenna and Rider’s Joyride was certainly one hot, tumultuous and drama-filled ride I did not want to end. Jenna is absolutely hilarious and her unflinching ability to stand up to Rider and be herself is even more admirable. This was another action-packed, startlingly beautiful and dangerous book in the Beautiful Biker series and I can’t wait for what comes next.

WOW!!!! just wow!! I was lucky enough to receive an ARC of Joyride by D. D. Prince and what a journey, I pulled an all-nighter to finish this so great was this stories pull for me.
I just couldn’t put this down, I was enthralled from the opening scenes, right to the finale and this is a long book let me tell you, so my eyes were gritty from lack of shut-eye by the time I finished.
So so worth it, who needs sleep anyway it’s overrated.
So Joyrider itself can totally be read, in my opinion, as a standalone, I will say reading Detour first will definitely give it that something extra and really enhance the whole experience, it isn’t really necessary know.
But if you do want my advice read Detour as well, it’s also a fantastic read that doesn’t disappoint.
So this is set in the same MC world as the previous book and features two of the supporting characters Jenna and Rider.(The Best Friend and Brother)
Joyride basically tells the tale of the development and growing feeling between the two, while also focusing on the misunderstanding and trust issues that arise along the way.
In my opinion its a tale of two halves the before and after and you will see what I am referring to when you read this for yourself.
I also made that initial mistake of taking these two good time guy and gal at face value from the previous book as this is how I perceived them both to be.
The lesson I took away here is don’t always judge a book by its cover sometimes you need to open the pages and read.
And this is something Rider especially had to learn to do as he slowly came to realise that he had done just that Judged a book by its cover.
and with the still ongoing issues of the Dominion Brotherhood MC’s War with the Jackel’s Jenna gets caught in the crossfire as events implode in dramatic style.
So I really adored both main characters like loads and what made them so likeable was their sheer relatability.
I found both to be highly flawed in a lot of ways and it’s so much easier to identify with normal flawed human beings.
I especially adored Riders humour and how he was able to add a lighter tone to events while also knowing when to change track as his intensity was needed.
It was also this humour that I think helped to smash down Jenna’s walls and let’s face it a sledgehammer was needed to totally obliterate these.
Jenna herself was high maintenance with a capital H, events surrounding her childhood have shaped her into the woman she is and Rider can totally identify as he just gets it with his mother being the way she is also.
They have this in common, a thread connecting them together.
Jenna herself I wanted to shake her constantly, just so she’d see some sense.
It was like she was on a fast track of self-destruction, self-sabotaging behaviour and as I watched, sometimes at times with sheer disbelief, dumbfounded at her actions.
I wanted to give her a swift kick up the ass and scream OMG girl really.
This, while still also understanding the logic behind her self-saving conduct.
I have never wanted to strangle a character so much while at the same time give them a big hug and say everything’s gonna be ok girlfriend.
Joyride itself had me laughing and crying and was so much more emotive than what I was expecting.
and boy did I laugh at the many varied comebacks and banter between Jenna and Rider.
And then in the next breath cry at the truly heartbreaking events also occurring.
It was angsty which I don’t always like, here it didn’t bother me at all, maybe because I was just so captivated by the whole story.
I should also mention Joyride is written from Jenna’s POV, again not an issue for me, my only real concern with this style of writing is sometimes it can fail to capture the complete profile,of in this case that would be Rider.
I didn’t feel that here, I felt that I got to know Rider as a man equally as much as Jenna.
Oh and while I’m rambling on here my new fave word, ALPHAHOLE love it.
alphahole’s controlling tendencies push him to the very edge of a-hole spectrum. Any more a-hole and we risk entering Shades of Gray territory. Please note that caretaker hero type falls closer to alphahole on the a-hole spectrum than to beta male. Caretaker hero is driven by an overwhelming urge to protect and take care of the heroine and in the name of keeping her safe, he might exhibit serious alphahole tendencies, as demonstrated by Edward in Twilight series.
Just for the record Joyride is full of Hot Alphaholes. fanning myself here.
So back to it, the story here flowed and I was transfixed throughout I also loved being able to revisit Ella and Deacon and the many diverse individuals that make up this world.
So to conclude Joyride was a fantastic read that I immensely enjoyed and I have no issue recommending to you at all.
And this here ends my rambling, this is hands down my favourite read of 2018 so far.
You so need to just pick this up and give it a chance.
I was provided with an ARC of Joyride from the author of which I have reviewed voluntary.
All opinions expressed are entirely my own.
Rider Valentine makes me want to hate f?ck forever. He is such a sexy, funny, crazy biker that I wanted to lick him and claim him. What do you get when you pair a good time guy with a spoiled brat? You get the epic love story of Rider and Jenna. This book is full of emotion from laugh out loud, to throat punch moments, to tears, to full on steamy and alway love. I wanted to live in the world of the Valentine men.
OK so the blurb on this one caught my attention. I moved it to the top of my tbr list. How on earth were these two ever getting a hea ?Well it wasn’t a smooth ride by any means but it sure was exciting ! Jenna and Rider both had me snarling at my kindle a few times but the scenes that I smiled through made it more than worthwhile. I love that Rider never gave up although Jenna did make him work for it. Happy reader !
2nd read: 2020
1st read : 2018
I received an ARC of this book and this is my voluntarily, honest review of it.
After reading and loving the first book of the ‘Beautiful biker’ series very much, I was really looking forward to the second book. I was also very curious and a little bit nervous about how this story would go because we already met Rider and Jenna (him being the brother of Deacon and she being the best friend of Ella) in the first book and therein we discovered that Rider had a very ‘wild’ side and a turbulent past. So I expected that this couple would have a very difficult journey ahead of them. And I was right!! But I must also confess that the more I got to know Rider, the more I felt for him. And that made me very happy.
Wow! I really enjoyed and love this story. After reading ‘Detour’ I had my reservations about Rider and his wild sexual taste but the writer convinced me that that was his past. That he had finally found THE woman that he wanted to share his life with and I adored that! It was wonderful to see how Rider never let go of Jenna, not matter what. I, personally, found ‘Joyride’ more intense then Detour but then if you have a guy like Rider that isn’t a surprise. It was great seeing everyone back, friends, MC brothers and family.
‘Joyride’ is told from Jenna’s POV. I really liked Jenna. She was a great friend and boss. I really liked the fact that she needed time to accept Rider turbulent past and his taste for darker things in the bedroom. That she didn’t immediately said ‘yes’ to everything he wanted. But then the sex scenes were very steamy!
The story was also very flowed and although it had many pages, it was never boring! I would personally recommend that you read Detour first, because then more things will be more clear to you.
I’m really looking forward to the next book in this MC series!
