My favorite cookbook!
My go to cookbook.
Best cookbook ever!
This has been in my kitchen for over 40 years – same copy! It is an outstanding cook book for anyone who really likes to entertain with excellent food.
Learned what I missed in home-ec
The one yo need in your kitchen. Classic!
It’s a very basic cookbook that gives precise explanations and directions. It gives substitutions for ingredients and is a great read. The recipes are easy to follow and taste great. I learned how to do many methods of baking and continue to use many of the recipes even though I experiment with epicurious. The sweet yeast dough is a favorite of my extended family and friends. The cakes, puddings and baked custard are still my kids favorites and same with their kids!
Most of the current favorite cookbook authors credit this book as their reference.
The best cookbook ever . I have my Mother’s 1937 edition too
This is a must have book in any cookbook collection. It has all the basics such as pancakes, waffles, muffins, salad dressings, roasts, etc. I use it at least once a month to just make breakfast.
The Joy of Cooking has been my kitchen right hand for so long I hate to admit to it! If you cook, this is a great addition to your kitchen!
a necessity in every kitchen
A classic must have for any home cook
Best Cookbook ever.
The absolute best good cooking bible for the kitchen. No cook should be without it! Excellent time tested true recipes with consistent predictable results for tasty food. Get this as your first cook book. you won’t go wrong (smile)
I have used this for a reference book for any and all recipes or to find out about ingredients. Very informative and I have yet to find something that is not in this book.
A definitive “how to” of everything cooking. I have used this book around the world and it adapts well to different situations. It’s a cross between a cookbook ( with recipes of all kinds) and a cooking text/dictionary. Great book for beginners and advanced home cooks. Excellent wedding, off to college, or graduation gift.
The Joy of Cooking was my first cookbook when I married and it taught everything from the very basics–like how to boil an egg–to entertaining and preparing good food from scratch. It is detailed without being tedious and even manages some mild humor occasionally. I recommend this to those who are beginning cooks and those who want to try out some more challenging recipes. Another good basic cookbook was the Fannie Farmer book, but I am not sure that is still in print.
A book that every home should have. If you are a new, just-learning-how cook or a seasoned veteran of many meals you will find a recipe or cooking technique in this book that will help you advance your culinary skills. A great foundation cook book and a must have.
Wow. Way back when, this was THE cookbook and it has stood the test of time.
This is a fabulous cookbook……basic, interesting, Challenging with recipes that don’t fail. It always delivers, and I’ll never be without it.
