Fabulous cook book, anything and everything you ever wanted to cook!
This book started Julia Child as a celebrity, which started the first cooking show, which started more cook books and more cooking chief celebrities, which started more cooking shows which… This was the beginning. Which is worth the money, but it also has most everything you could want to cook in it. Of all my cookbooks if I only had one this is the one I would choose. I do own this one (actually 2 copies) One is in the kitchen, the other next to my chair.
There are three books every could should own and the “Joy” is #1. Julia and Jacques are the other two. You must bake the cake before you can ice it. In other words, this book is the foundation. Still a must have for new brides or anyone who aspires to making great food! EnJOY!
This cookbook has EVERYTHING you would ever want to know or try when it comes to cooking!!!
I received my Joy of Cooking for in 1972. It is my go to cookbook for how to cook meats, poultry and general information. I recommend this book as a gift for not just brides, but also anyone who is moving into an apartment.
One of my all time favorite cookbooks. Very informative, and easy to read.
If you have owned an earlier edition, maybe it’s time to purchase a newer version. I have owned 3 copies of Joy of Cooking.
I just got a newer version.
I was lucky. I found my copy through Amazon’s used books. Luckily, I have yet to receive a bad condition book. I find books used and often 50% of a brand new book. Very rarely have I paid for shipping. I consider the shipping when I’m looking for a deal. Many of the cookbooks I have purchased are in new condition.
My copy of The Joy of Cooking cost me $11, total. And to my eyes, it was in new condition.
Happy book hunting!
