If you like sci-fi, this is your book! Incredibly well written book with a unique plot. The world-building is phenomenal. This book deserves and demands your full attention but it is WELL worth it. Once you get started, you definitely won’t want to put it down! Marvelous job! 5 stars!
“All attendees sat in anticipation of the wonderful event about to unfold.” This is the first line in JOURNEYS THROUGH SPACETIME and much like the attendees at that event, I cracked the binding of this book with much anticipation.
An incredibly detailed story with world building in many different universes and lots of characters pepper this multilayered story. At times I did find myself pausing to remember who was who and where was where. Once I grasped the cadence and rhythm of the story, the pages virtually turned themselves.
This was an enjoyable journey and I look forward to reading more from this author.
I enjoyed this book. The author’s writing style and attention to detail made me feel as if I was right there in the story. There are many different characters, they made the story realistic and kept me reading. Of all of them, Hirisho is my favorite. This is a science fiction story that flip flops between a few different worlds but the story transitions perfectly. It is a story of space time travel as well as getting to see life on other universes, add some suspense. I highly recommend this book
You would never believe that this was James Talisman debut novel, it has been written in such an incredible way, it’s as though he has been writing his entire life. This is an incredible multiverse, multi-layered adventure story that you are unable to put this read down. This book is packed full to brim with in-depth, realistic characters that are scattered across the multiverse each telling their own unique and amazing story. You will be totally captivated with each storyline that occurs, in fact as the story goes on you become more and more invested in all that goes on.
This book has been created with such detail and descriptive writing you can’t help but mentally visualise the entire read. While there are many elements to this read you never got lost within the numerous storylines that are weaved together, each time the storyline changes you are made aware of it, yet even with the different storylines each one flows effortlessly on to the next one.
This is an amazing debut novel from James Talisman, one that I’m so glad that I got the chance to dive into and experience. I cannot wait to see what else this amazing author brings and what else he has to offer! I highly recommend this book and ill be eagerly awaiting Book #2.
Journeys Through SpaceTime by James Talisman is the first book in the Journeys Through series. This book is detailed and intricate and so immersive that you will really feel like you are right there with all the characters.
For a debut novel this book really was outstanding. The book is so complex and detailed that I found myself drawn in and lost in the story instantly. This was the kind of book that as soon as I had read it I had to immediately start it again. The first time I flew through the story because I enjoyed it so much with the second reading allowing me to add in all the detail I missed the first time round.
From the moment you start reading this book you can feel the author’s passion behind it. This comes through in every aspect – from the characters to the overall plot. For me this only served to draw me ever further into the story. I am genuinely blown away by how captivated I was by this book. Anyone that is a fan of this genre should give this book a try. It is easily one of the best books that I had read this year!
Journeys Through SpaceTime
By James Talisman
This book is a full length novel, for the Sci-fi readers. It takes you on many journeys. Just as the title promises. It will draw you in and keep you there. A true “Good vs Evil” Fantasy Thriller.
James Talisman has writing this extremely complex story. His writing is well thought out and to perfection. His descriptions of his characters and the world they live in, will set you right into the story. While this is not my genre. I found James Talisman’s story interesting, well worth the read. You can bet I will recommend it to all of my Sci-fi Fantasy friends. As they will LOVE this story. This may be James Talismans first book, but I can already tell he has so much more to tell. Congratulations on you first book! Now get the next one done as I’m sure people will waiting.
Journeys Through SpaceTime by James Talisman is the first book in the Journeys Through series. This is my first book by Talisman and I can already see that I will be looking to read more books by him in the future. The characters and scenery is beautifully descriptive and easily seen in your mind’s eye. This is definitely a work of passion for Talisman. The story plot line is that of a sci-fi story. It has all the good characteristics with time travel and multiple worlds all rolled up inside. There are some teaching moments with in the story to set the story up to the next level as well. There are some twists and turns which keeps the story moving and interesting. There were moments that I needed to revisit something I just read because I moved too quickly to get to the next page. So my warning is to really focus on what is happening because it is that amazing of a story. I cannot wait to see what Talisman has in store for us next.
Journeys Through SpaceTime is James Talisman’s debut novel, and the first in his Journeys Through series. It sits on the border between sci-fi and fantasy, with a story that transcends an array of times and places.
The story begins with an introduction to the different worlds we will encounter in the book, as characters in every setting have a similar, unsettling experience. Their stories unfold as they seek to understand the experience, and the reader seeks to understand what connects the strands of the story.
Talisman clearly has a passion for world-building, and readers are given a rich and detailed description of the many worlds the story inhabits. For the most part, it is easy to keep track of although there were times when I wished I had a paperback copy so I could refer back to the Dramatis Personae. The settings each very much have their own character, ranging from modern-day Earth to alien worlds that evoke ancient civilisations, each with their own cast of interesting and developed characters.
For me, this is a five-star book. It is a complex story that demands your full attention, and rewards with a rich tapestry of worlds held together by an original and engrossing story. I’m looking forward to reading more from this author!
Journeys Through SpaceTime (Journeys Through Book 1) by James Talisman
5-Stars
Journeys Through SpaceTime is an excellent novel that pulls readers in immediately from page one! There is a strange presence introduced at the beginning that immediately caught my interest especially since it was leaving each individual introduced. With this, I want to mention that there are several characters from multiple universes in this book. Each of these individuals had excellent character development and Talisman provided a detailed back story for each.
I loved how organized and easy to follow the storyline was. There is specific wording and formatting notifying readers that the storyline is changing which helped me keep track of occurrences I’m the multiverse. I also enjoyed the beautiful setting described with each character. It was easy for me to visualize and place myself in the book at that point in time. This book is easily 5-stars and I cannot wait for the next book in the series!
This is an amazing adventure story. The multiverse has several worlds, all with their own stories and battles.
On every world there is a battle between good and evil, however what they dont realise is that they are all connected to each other, and they need to work together in order to win this battle.
Will good win over evil this time or is the evil force too strong to be beaten.
I really enjoyed this story once i got into it and kept track of the characters and how they are all linked. Its a really well written story and the characters are captivating.
If you love time travel, flexible reality, multiverse theory, and sci-fi/fantasy, this is a great read. If you have difficulty following multiple story lines in a book, this is probably not going to be a fun read for you. Personally, I like a complex story to keep my brain engaged.
One of the things I resonated with were the Seven Principles that were introduced toward the beginning of the story. It reminded me so much of the principles I learned on my personal journey as a Priestess. It’s hard to find stories that convey these principles in mainstream books.
Journeys Through SpaceTime has a wide variety of interesting characters. I liked that diversity because it added depth to the reading experience.
I appreciate the amount of thought that went into creating this adventure!
Journeys Through SpaceTime (Journeys Through Book 1) by James Talisman is a sci-fi story and is his debut book. It is a unique and interesting tale that he has lovingly shared with us. You can tell he has written the story with passion and poured his heart and soul into it. The characters were many and varied as the story takes place, as the title says, through spacetime with multiple species and races and worlds you can only imagine. James writing, descriptions and depictions are very detailed and you can easily imagine what the words portray. The concept of All-That-Is is intriguing and many will relate to some of the teachings/concepts that James has given us in the book. To that end it is a complex story with multiple layers and sometimes I had to re-read something just to take it all in and absorb what was being said. I also felt that the story could have been told with less words. That being said I look forward to see what James comes up with next.
If you love sci-fi grab a copy and settle in for a unique tale that will get you thinking.
4 Stars
‘Journeys Through SpaceTime’ is the debut novel, and first instalment in the ‘Journeys Through’ series by James Talisman. This sci-fi/fantasy story has so much going on in it and quite a lot of characters to keep track of. The storyline is multi-layered and complex, with multiple worlds and time-lines. The weaving of the story takes us on an action-packed adventure- where good vs evil, danger abounds, hidden agendas come to light, and a bit of ‘political’ manoeuvring takes place.
As this story spans space, and time- and introduces various principles/concepts to do with consciousness, universal energy and wisdom- it begins to build and explain the dynamics of this MultiVerse. The story is told from multiple points of view- which gives the reader a fully immersive reading experience whilst helping us to better understand the dynamics of each ‘layer’ of the storyline.
The story has a mysteriousness to it which definitely adds to the overall intrigue. It’s very interesting, if not a little wordy in places. All the ‘action’ in the various ‘worlds’, and with so many characters playing their part in this epic story; as well as all the switching back and forth between worlds and POV’s- made things a little confusing for me in the beginning. But as I got more of a handle on the story, characters, and flow- I really enjoyed the journey.
There are factors of the story which had a ‘Roman Legion’ feel, while other parts felt more Egyptian- with space and technological components, some Japanese Samurai like elements; as well as delving into some spirituality and consciousness concepts, & then the space and time factors, and conspiracies/plots/hidden agendas thrown in for good measure- and this story really took off. It will both captivate you, while making you think.
There is plenty of suspenseful moments which had me flipping the pages to discover how everything would play out. I loved that while a few of the threads were tied up at the end- we are left knowing that there is more to come- and plenty more to discover and unravel in the following instalment/s.
I am looking forward to continuing this journey and watching the story evolve.
Well done!
Thank you, Mr. Talisman!
Journeys Through Spacetime is the first book from James Talisman and I definitely think it will be the first of many from this talented author. I am not usually a Sci/Fi reader but after reading this book with such vivid worlds and creatively written characters I might just be starting to become a fan. To get this old girl to try something new is no small feat so thanks Mr Talisman for showing me old dogs can in fact learn new tricks.
I will say I struggled at first with the amount of changes from one place/ set of characters to another…I guess I should actually call that the Multiverse… but that is totally on me. I kept with it and found my flow with the story and I am so glad I did. If this kind of story telling is a challenge for you also, I strongly suggest sticking with it as you will be rewarded with an action packed, imaginative and phenomenally well crafted story.
Journey Through SpaceTime by James Talisman was a difficult read for me. I typically can jump right into a book but I found this very hard to keep my interest and was easily distracted while reading. Perhaps it was trying to get into each individual storyline and character grouping. I don’t typically delve into this type of story but I do enjoy multiverse type of subjects. With this, I was hoping for more crossover into the multiple worlds and dimensions that the author lays out for us. All the meditation was too much for me, but this is from a perspective where I personally don’t find value in this form of mental awareness. The author is very good at describing the multiple worlds and people but it became too descriptive and longwinded for me in some places. I was hopeful for more of the action I see from other reviews, but half way through, I felt it was lacking in what I consider action. I do feel this book is good for some readers, but just ok for me.
Journey Through SpaceTime tells the story of a group of unlikely allies from all different worlds and walks of life. This group of protagonists began a fight to save their worlds and their reality. When the teachers appear, they shake the group’s core beliefs of what reality is and should be.
First off, I want to start by saying I am NOT normally a Sci-Fi, Space novel reader. However, this novel may have changed my mind! The MultiVerse is something I have never really delved into, but Journey Through SpaceTime presents it in a way that draws in the reader and kept my attention for the entire novel. James Talisman writes a story about the classic good vs. evil dilemma, that is full of wonderful characters, fantastic worlds, and great stories. Journey Through SpaceTime will be the Sci-Fi novel I recommend for years to come. It is one that everyone should read at least once. I look forward to reading the rest of the series!
Poor rating for personal preferences only, and I chose not to finish this book, so please take that into account as you read my review. The reason I didn’t finish was for the porn (I’m told this was only in the beginning, but I read it 20% through and while reading it could only assume it would continue. From heterosexual encounters, homosexual, orgies, rape, and murder while intimate; this book certainly has more diversity than I’ve encountered before. I was disappointed that I found no comment on such controversial content when I researched the book as I would never have picked it up. For those who don’t mind this sort of content, please know I don’t expect you to, and the scenes I read are paragraphs and in no way encompass the entire narrative. Some people do mind (and have that right too.) This review is for them.
Aside from that, I thought this book would be sci-fi, but what I read I would classify it more as mystical or spiritual; lots of mind over matter magic with the classic good vs evil as the conflict. Interesting concept, love the multi-verse, really sorry I couldn’t finish it.
This one was probably a lot more science fiction than I could handle. It was a really neat concept with the multiverse and connected minds. But as a reader who does not delve into sci-fi very often, I couldn’t get engaged enough. James Talisman is definitely a great writer and I just know that those who enjoy science fiction more than I, would gobble this up entirely and beg for more.
“Journeys Through SpaceTime” is a hard-to-classify book for sure. It’s a combo of New Age/Sci-Fi/Fantasy w/ edge-of-my-seat action and mind-bending world-building.
In this book, we meet characters in multiple worlds, occupying somewhat-familiar Earth time periods, such as ancient Egypt, Shogunate Japan, a futuristic Europe, and present-day Colorado. The book started slowly for me, b/c it was hard to switch between the plot lines/characters in the different worlds we visited. But again, the suspense and great action scenes kept me pulled into the various scenarios, although honestly, some of the worlds felt like “Star Trek” fan fiction – which isn’t necessarily a bad thing. The plots in each world explored had nothing to do w/ one another – except for supernatural beings helping our heroes during meditation – until the book ended w/ a nice set-up for book #2 in the series. To try to present a synopsis of each of the worlds would make the review far too long; suffice it to say that the characters in each world are engaging. And the good-versus-evil theme throughout is my absolute favorite! And – I dearly LOVE the cover!
My rating is dragged down by the sheer number of characters to try to remember. It did help that I I read the final 50%+ in one sitting. Adjectival descriptions and certain phrases became repetitive, which was either annoying or a method of unifying the chapters; I’m not sure which. I enjoyed the book; I just don’t feel that it quite deserved four stars, so I have grudgingly rounded it down to 3 stars. That being said, I may read Book #2 at some point, just to see if I can re-visit some of the great characters introduced in this book.
Journeys Through Space Time by James Talisman was a unique read. It follows the stories of several different characters among different time frames and multiverses as they hear a mysterious voice. The beginning of the book, while describing the main characters, feels like it was written with a minimum word requirement with the excessive describing of every single detail. It became almost overwhelming at times. It wasn’t consistent with the style of writing for the remainder of the book which I was very happy to see. However, if you like a book that gives strong vivid details to set the scenes, this is the book for you.
Beware, the book can be hard to follow and it can be confusing how each story is connected. Jumping back and forth between the different realms, I found myself having to go back to the previous chapters to remind myself who these characters are. Thankfully, James does provide a character list in the beginning of the book that I found incredibly helpful. Once I stopped trying to connect the different realms/characters and read each chapter as individual short stories, it became a page turner that I couldn’t put down. I was excited to see what happened next and the final wrap up at the end was the perfect ending.
Ultimately, I was hesitant to read the story as the overview seemed overwhelming and confusing but I am so happy that I did. Journeys Through Space Time ended up being an exciting book following different characters who had to find the good in themselves to beat the bad. Classic good versus evil written in a completely new way.
