When former Congressman Mark Stedman throws in the towel on his presidential campaign, his only choice is to return to his home state and decide how to spend the rest of his life … until he meets Josiah Stoltzfus, an Amish farmer from Pennsylvania. Stedman learns more from Josiah in a few hours than in his many years in office. He comes to the conclusion that someone like Josiah should be … should be running the country. Not a career politician, but someone with a little old-fashioned common sense, someone who’s not afraid of rolling up his sleeves and getting his hands dirty. Someone like Josiah Stoltzfus.
Using his old campaign headquarters for a base, Mark Stedman determines to introduce a new candidate to America. He pledges to do everything in his power to make sure Josiah gets elected. But can a plain man of faith turn the tide of politics and become the leader of America, and what will he have to risk to do it?

I loved this book! One of the best I have ever read! It was an exceptional read!
I have read a lot of Amish books. This one was different, very interesting, held my attention all the way through. Very appropriate for today’s living.
It was a fun easy to read book even though you knew it was completely impossible for it to happen in real life.
It brought out good principles that we should all follow.
A delightful read and so unusual. Great story line.
How the country would be with a simple man as president.
Although I have read many books about the Amish, this one stands out as the premise is so creative. I would recommend this book to anyone and everyone!
thoroughly enjoyed it
Joshuah for President is the off chance encounter between a devote, kind, helpful insightful and highly intelligent Amish man with an unshaking belief in his way of life and God. He has a chance encounter with a down and out worldly politician on his way home to his home state to hang up politics. In our world, society and politics this is …
I really enjoyed her writing and to think she even wrote for Bob Hope!! The story was true to the Amish way of life but it did not have a happy ever after ending. A fast read!!!
Interesting and clever in its writing style. Makes you think about listening to a question and answering it properly. Introspective!
Good clean reading.
excellent no bad language
Josiah for President is a compelling tale of an unlikely friendship, and an even more unlikely agreement. Heartwarming and funny, Martha’s book will leave you cheering for the underdog, while believing there is still hope for America’s future.
I wanted to read this book as we attended the live performance of this story in Shipshawana Indiana and enjoyed that.
This is a book I would like to see as a movie. Great story!!
I enjoyed this book very much. Soothed my soul after all that has been going on in the political arena in the past 10 or so years.
Very enjoyable.
