I’ve investigated some pretty strange cases in my life, but I have to say this is a first. A corpse—a murder victim—has gone missing during the middle of an investigation, and no one has any clue where it went. Psy is called in to clear the investigative team, make sure they’re not an accomplice. It’s a four hour drive outside of Nashville, to a place famous for being haunted, so none of us are … are particularly eager to go.
And then we arrive on scene and I see who we’re dealing with and I want nothing more than to turn around and go right back to Nashville.
This case is complicated and strange, and absolutely nothing is as it seems at first glance. Even with my eyes, it’s going to take some digging to get to the truth.

Another wonderful addition to the series! Jon finally has settled into the relationship with Donovan, and whatever doubts he had before are now gone. So, when the unusual case takes them out of town, Jon never expects to find the answers to his past and change his family forever. I loved the family drama. It was very emotional and highly entertaining.
The case while still depended on Jon’s psychic abilities did require some police work. And while working on it, Jon has uncovered evidence of a long forgotten cold case and was able to give justice to the victim’s family. I love when that happens! This book was funny, slightly angsty, emotional and full of teasing banter. All the characters were approachable and very likable. I enjoyed this light-hearted mystery.
3.5
This was a really cute read.
Jon is, as usual, a sweetheart. I loved how patient and forgiving he was. We get to see a bit more of his past and his family and that made me so very happy. And also a bit more of Sho and Garrett (I love them so much: who do I need to sell my soul to for their own story? *cries*). I’ve, unfortunately, gone off of Donovan a bit: some thing he says and thinks irritated me quite a bit, but to a lesser degree than the previous book. I’m still much a fan of his possessive/protective streak but alas, I think I liked him more when we didn’t know his thoughts.
Looking forward to starting book number 4, though I’m hoping we’ll get to see a bit more action and Jon, once again, desplaying his full abilities.
*WARNING* intended for mature audiences
This cases in this series are interesting. The characters are entertaining. I really like that these books are so realistic. If not for the psychic part, these could be true stories. The story balances between Jon’s cases and his home life perfectly. It also brings in friends. There are many characters, but it’s not hard to keep up with of them.
A haunted house, a missing corpse and wonderful family time!! Loved it!!
„People make serious mistakes and then really learn the consequences of them years later.“
„Jon´s Spooky Corpse Conundrum“ is book three in AJ Sherwood´s „Jon´s Mysteries Series“ and I really do admit, this was my favorite of the series so far!!
Come and follow the next amazing story of Jon and Donovan, now they investigate in an all new mysterious and spooky murder case and solving another cold case.
Again, Jon and his colleagues of the Psy Agency are requested by the police of the four-hour-away town Sevierville. A murder in a haunted mansion and during the police investigations the body disappeared without a trace.
Donovan is anything but enthusiastic, because what?
A haunted house? With ghosts?
No, he really does not want to have anything to do with ghosts.
„Sometimes evidence could be found in the place you least expected it. I´d seen some families leave a loved one´s room intact, sometimes for decades, with the hope that they´d get them back. Or because they couldn´t admit that they wouldn´t.“
Come and accompany Jon and Donovan on their way to the haunted mansion in Sevierville, where on the crime site they get surprised by an oh so very unexpected encounter that Jon does not know how to deal with it.
„I´d had eighteen years to both miss and hate him, and that was very hard to let go of.“
Find out how the hell that body could disappear and follow an oh so wonderful and finally happy reunion after 18 years with a lot of happily spent family time.
„You know what really gets me? The hell of the thing is, he´s bright. Not Havili bright-„ I loved that we now had our own mark on the scale. „-but still, pretty damn bright. If this was a person I didn´t know, someone I´d just passed on the street, I´d want to meet him. I´d want to be friends with him.“
OMG, Alani, Donovan´s mother, she´s the very most sweetheart but also so tough, there seems to be an absolutely stunning scene with a spectacular water hose chase.
I loved her so much, and like always her cooking seems to be an excellent cure for most everything.
Enjoy with me how they finally a) get rid of Sho´s stalker-ex-boyfriend that made Garrett´s day and b) in the end they get rid of another asshole (that one was so long overdue, I hated him so much) and that made my day!!
Again I had a lot of fun reading this new surprising episode of Jon´s and Donovan´s relationship, how they grow together, always having each others back and giving strength and support.
„Times like this, I wished I could take the pain from him, but there wasn´t much you could do about a broken heart.“
„Corpses and murderers could wait. The man in my arms was my first and only priority.“
Can´t wait to read more about Jon and Donovan and their ever growing family, their story continues in book 4 „Jon´s Boom Shaka Laka Problem“ and I´m really excited for this one
Jon’s Spooky Corpse Conundrum is the third book in the Jon’s Mysteries series. This series is best read in order to get maximum enjoyment, but this book could be read as a standalone.
This book not only gives us all the Jon and Donovan goodness with a slice of supernatural flair, but it also uncovers more of Jon’s family drama. The relationship Jon has with his family is extremely complicated, and these complications only become more extreme when family secrets are exposed. The characters experience a range of emotions from love, anger, regret, and joy, which combines to make a really touching and sweet story. I love everything about this book from the romance to the humor to the plotline. This was a great addition to the series.
