I’m rather used to the crazy cases, because let’s face it, most cops can handle the run-of-the-mill with their eyes closed. I’m only called in when the situation is weird or they need to solve the case fast. This case is a little of both. Someone’s attacking women as they get off of work, hitting them in the back of the head. What started as a case of battery has steadily built up to homicide. … up to homicide. With three murders, six victims, and no leads, the Clarksville PD are desperate to catch the assailant. But there’s no real leads for us to follow, either, and for once my eyes can’t really help.
A madman running around attacking women is bad enough, but the police are demanding answers we can’t give them, and they’re not taking no for an answer. It’s pushing us all past our limits, and frankly, I don’t know what’s going to break first: The case or Donovan’s patience.

I enjoyed this a ton. This series is light and fluffy and not at all what I was expecting.
I really loved Jon here, as usual, and his willingness to uncover the truth and get justice: I love me some self-sacrificing, slighty idiotic, protagonists. He’s such a fun MC and the fact that he never jumps to conclusions and is so good at reading people (literally) makes him a delightful protagonist. Donovan, on the other hand, I liked slightly less: I love overprotective love interests, but I found some of his expectations about Jon and what he should or shouldn’t do about his health a bit too much controlling for my tastes.
I also completely loved Garrett (and Sho) (like, seriously, I’m craving a spin-off about them) (and Carol and Sharon are lovely) and I cannot wait to see what else the author has planned.
„Jon´s Crazy Head Boppin Mystery“ is book two in AJ Sherwood´s „Jon´s Mysteries Series“
Come and follow the next amazing story of them both, because Jon and Donovan investigate in an all new mysterious supernatural criminal case.
Actually, there is a serial killer on the run in Clarksville and the police there, who are extremely reluctant to work with the psychic consultants, no longer knows what to do and requests Jon and his colleagues and asks for their support.
During this investigation Jon has to go to his limits and beyond. What Donovan, his boyfriend and anchor, does not like at all. His above-average protective instincts are in overdrive and he takes care of Jon around the clock, because Jon had to do a deep reading even twice, after which he is usually knocked out for serveral days.
Fortunately, Garrett, Donovan´s best friend and also former military, was hired at the Psy Agency and he is supposed to be supporting them from now on.
But apart from the fact, that Jon recognizes right away, that once upon a time there had to be more between Garrett and Donovan than being just best friends, another topic causes Jon headaches.
Donovan has almost finished his house renovations and the little house, he inherited from his grandmother is soon supposed to be sold. AND Donovan wishes nothing more than to move in with Jon. Add to that, Rodger (Jon´s stepfather) comes again and again with his unwanted „good“ advices and it does not long for Jon´s doubts, fears and insecurities to reappear.
Come and follow this new and amazing story, accompany Jon and Donovan on their way and their developing relationship, find out what´s the matter with Garrett, why you just can´t find this serial killer and how ( or if ) moving in with Jon works out.
I love them both, Jon and Donovan, so much by now, I am really very excited, what the next stories will be like and how their relationshop will be further developing.
Their story continues with book 3 „Jon´s Spooky Corpse Conundrum“ and I can´t wait to get my hands on it!
When I read the first book in this series I loved it but that usually meant higher expectations for the following books. In this case, the expectations were well placed, the second book is even better!!! Interesting new characters, (and the base for another story, I hope), great reaffirmation of Donovan and Jon as couple all in a storyline full of action. I can’t wait for book 3!!!
Jon and Donovan are one of my favorite couples. Jon is head over heels in love with Donovan and Donovan is just as love-struck as Jon. The mystery was well done and interesting, but my favorite part of this book is the relationship between Jon and Donovan. I adore how protective Donovan is over Jon, and honestly, Jon needs that. He gets himself in so many sticky situations that I’m honestly not sure how he survived without Donovan. What’s wonderful, is that as protective and supportive Donovan is of Jon, Jon is just as protective and supportive of Donovan.
Overall Rating: 5 Stars. A.J. Sherwood is a fabulous writer who knows her craft and creates not only an action-packed plot, but also has well developed, likeable characters that I couldn’t help but fall in love with.
