Jonah thought his life was finally back on track when he agreed to stay in the Amish faith and planned to marry his love, Mary Lou. The bliss was short-lived because Mary Lou fell into a coma. While waiting for Mary Lou to awaken, Jonah tries to make amends with his past and prepare for the future. Jonah enlists the help of his childhood best friend, Samuel, to build Mary Lou’s dream house. … build Mary Lou’s dream house. Samuel convinces his younger sister, Catherine, who’s now all grown up, to help as well.
Will Mary Lou wake from her coma? Will Catherine’s presence distract Jonah? Does God have other plans?
This is the 4th book of a 5-book series.

Not only does Jonah find his way back to God, but the woman he loves is willing to spend her life with him.
Sweet Amish romances and fictional stories about the Amish are some of my favorite stories to read. This book is pretty good, the characters are very nice and the story itself is good. But for me, the story line was too drawn out and long, the book lagged a lot and I found myself losing interest from chapter to chapter. I have not read anything by Sylvia Price before, and did not read the previous four books in the series. Perhaps if I had, my reading experience would have been much better. I’m confident that the next book I read of Sylvia’s will be rewarding and inspirational.
READ the first three books first!!! –> I enjoyed book 4 as much as I enjoyed the first three. Faith struggles, romance, Amish life, drama… It’s all there. But for me, I definitely am glad that I read the first three books first. I can see in the description that this is book 4 of a 5-book series. But to me, that does not indicate that each book will end in a cliffhanger! That is my primary reason for giving only 4 stars. I also feel that this book was my least favorite of the four (if I try to think of them individually). But I cannot explain that sentiment without revealing any spoilers, so I won’t explain! I was given a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review, and I’m so happy to have read it! If you enjoy reading about faith and romance with good bit of drama, check out this book! (Just read the first three before this one!)
Great book with a great story. Really enjoyed reading it. Very well written.
I did receive an advanced copy of the book and the review is mine voluntarily.
Book four in the Jonah’s Redemption series and right now I am not liking Jonah very much. He may still be lost but that does not make what he has just done okay. I want to read the next book. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
An emotional and sweet read. Mary Lou continues in her coma while Jonah is still dealing with his guilt and grief. Wonderful story! This series is best read in order.
I received an advance copy of this book from the author, however, I voluntarily wrote an honest review. All opinions are strictly my own.
“He would have felt God in that place sustaining Mary Lou and ready to confort him”, Jonah is at the hospital, “the wait was unbearable, and the loneliness, palpable.”
Mary Lou is ill. Jonah feels so much pain to see her loves one in an hospital bed, she’s fighting with the death.
Nice story, full of emotions, good author.
I have always had an interest in the Amish community. There are times I wish I was. They lead such a simple life then again a hard life at the same time. I can understand how they turn to God. Their faith is beautiful. This book is no different. It’s a beautiful story about death and how to deal with it. It so beautifully written and it touches your heart. I have read books 3 and 4, I cannot remember if I read 2 but I just got book 1 so I can read it. These books should be read in order. Wonderful book!!
Jonah seems to face strides ahead and leaps back on his faith journey
While he is smitten with his fiancée, her continued coma makes for a variety of challenges.
When an old friend faces challenges in faith and life plans, a different kind of faith and life challenges come into play.
Who knows what might happen next with his comatose fiancée and her family. They might have turned their backs on her when she was taking cancer treatments, but who has the legal right to make decisions for her now, since she and Jonah were not yet wed
Tough faith and life questions and struggles abound
