Jonah has lost his community, and he’s at risk of losing more if he opens up to his peers. He is struggling to get by in the Englisch world, yearning for his Amish roots, but shunned and unable to return. Mary Lou is recovering from her medical scare. Her own journey has impressed upon her how precious life is, so she decides to go on rumspringa to see the world, believing that she can keep her … rumspringa to see the world, believing that she can keep her faith anywhere she may be.
That all changes once she meets Jonah. Unable to understand his foul attitude, especially towards her, she makes every effort to share her faith with him. Once she realizes why he is shunned and that she should not be speaking with him, she is torn between keeping her faith and leading him back to his.
Will Jonah’s soul be lost? Can an Amish girl keep her faith in the Englisch world? What will God do with these two broken people?
This is the 1st book in a 5-part series.

Wonderful story of lost past, finding oneself, friendship and gods love. You will want book two handy when you finish this one. Well done,…
I loved this book! It grabbed my attention right from the beginning & I could not stop until it was done. This gave a very good view into the heart of Mary Lou, a young Amish girl who had a very open, honest and intuitive way with dealing with Jonah while listening closely to God for guidance. I like the strength she showed by sticking to her faith & way of life while living among the English for her rumspringa. The only part of this book I did not care for was the abrupt way it ended. I know there are other books in this series but it just seems like it could have had a more clear ending, while still making it nearly impossible not to immediately get the next book in the series. I would still recommend this, just that they get the second book right with the first!
This is a fantastic Amish read. It really grabs the heart strings. The Author keeps you on the edge of your seat with all the twists and turns. A fantastic read that I definitely recommend.

This book is a quick and enjoyable read, but it ends on a cliffhanger. (There are more books like this continuing the story.) Personally, I think the books should be joined into one (or at least have a solid ending), and that is the reason for the four stars instead of five. I was totally drawn into the characters and the relationships within the story, and I am looking forward to learning what happens in the next installment! The romance is clean, and readers get a glimpse into Amish life and values. And I do like seeing the faith of characters, especially when it has the ability to challenge my own faith.
I have read all 4 of Jonah’s Redemption, and I find them very interesting. Once you pick up the book, you have to read it to the end without stopping. I am so looking for book 5 so I can see what happens to Jonan and Mary Lou. Sylvia Price is a great author
Jonah’s Redemption is a marvelous book. Author Sylvia Price wrote a storyline that enthralled me. The characters are unique in their own way, which made it more interesting. I highly recommend reading this book. I’ll be reading more of Author Sylvia Price’s books.
I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book. This review is one hundred percent my opinion.
I finally read it!!! All I need is book 2 and I am caught up! I loved this book as much as the others I have reviewed in this series. It’s a beautiful story. It has a little bit of everything in this book. Faith and love and hope. This book and the others in this series are worth the read.
Mary Lou has survived a terrible illness and at 18 is going on her rumspringa. She meets Jonah who is quite gruff but he notices that she is dressed Amish. He helps her to find peaceful places in the noisy city. She invites him back to her community to meet her family. She learns more about his family and realizes she is falling in love with him. When tragedy strikes, he runs! A heart wrenching short story that makes you want more!
I received a free copy of this book and I voluntarily wrote an honest review.
Mary Lou is 18 yo and decides to have 1 year rouspringa in the big, noisy city and live as English people.
Here she meets Jonah, a grumpy boy.
Very nice and hunting story, easy and fast to read, twisted, wonderful characters.
I recommend it, enjoy!
Tragedy in two young lives brings one closer to her God and Amish community, and a young man who becomes special to her further away
Their story is only beginning in this moving series
