The last thing Scott needs is friends. He moved to Woodland Village to forget about the past and to write. Since his partner’s death three years ago, he hasn’t written one word, and his agent, publisher, and fans are clamoring for the final book of his award-winning series. His life is spiraling out of control and he doesn’t know if he can finish his series. He doesn’t need the complication of love, especially with the arrogant John Kramer. And, he certainly wouldn’t associate his name with a computer game.
But when John’s life begins to fall apart, Scott must decide where his loyalties lie — with John or his principles.

Look for the doors opening! Scott, fantasy writer is John’s new neighbor. John’s boss, Ryan asked John to get Scott to sign over his characters for their computer game, saving their company, Fantasy Arts from gong out of business. Scott, has writer’s block for the past 3 years, since his partner died. He wants to be left alone! John and Scott didn’t have a good beginning and they had several presented challenges standing in the way of the relationship. Mr Kramer, John’s dad is a peach! Does Scott’s writer’s block clear up? Can John and Scott resolve their issues? Are they willing to do the work? Good story. Great characters. Nice conclusion! I received an ARC from Booksrout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Sweet and salty is the name of these two men and their relationship. One step foward and two steps back. The emotional drama that Scott has dragging him down is sad and filled with unresolved anger and disappointment. When your partner dies it is hard to find answers to the whys of what happened. But, the emotional bond these men create is funny, tender and full of excitement. I liked the way they were able to resolve their issues and move foward.

I loved this bittersweet story of two lost souls finding love. Scott a fantasy writer is in a funk and can’t get his writer’s mojo back. John is also in a funk because he blames himself for his company’s loses. A chance meeting and they got off on a rocky start but once they got to know each other more they began to let down their defenses….John a little more than Scott. Of course their is some drama from misunderstandings and lack of communication but they worked through all that and had a wonderful HEA. I really enjoyed the guys journey to love and I think most readers will also.

John Kramer and Scott Marwick are very different personalities, both strong and hard-headed. They meet when John helps out Scott’s son who has gotten drunk and stranded in the parking lot. John gives him a ride home, only to find he lives next door. But Scott is furious, immediately assuming John took advantage of his son.
The two of them do have chemistry that can be felt by the reader. But they also have some betrayal issues they need to work out before they can take a chance on each other. The characters are well-developed and will have the reader hoping for the best for them. Seeing them work out their differences and find something in each other gives the reader a deep sigh of happiness. Grab your copy and chuckle as they battle out their frustrations and come to terms with their feelings.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book from the beginning to the end: it was such a page turner with excellent pacing and great character depth.I love John and Scott’s love story. It has angst, heat and a great ending. I want to read more!

Scott and John don’t have the best first impressions : Scott’s drunken son Rob was pretty wiped out- and he was exhausted after getting freaky ya guy on the hood of John’s car.
Daddy Dearest Scott cannot imagine his son getting wild and needing a ride home from a stranger who turns out to be their next door neighbor.
Both men have had different types of serious betrayal in their lives.
Caring enough to try again is a gamble both men have to be willing to take.
Life and love are complicated!
