After helping out Vince, Johan hadn’t planned on staying at Levi and Ice’s compound for long. However, Johan realizes how much plans can change when Galen comes over from Africa to join Johan, and the two are sent into town on a job that’s close and up-front personal to another member of Legendary Security.Joyce, otherwise called Joy, sought a career position but accepted something out of her … her normal skill set in order to pay the rent. But when her inventory lists show missing drugs, she knows something ugly is going on. With no one at the company willing to listen, she turns to her old friend Kai for advice.
Johan wasn’t the answer Joy was looking for, but, when she finds out the previous employee to hold her position is in the morgue, she’s damn happy to have him.
Her job might be safe … but her life? Well, that’s on the line …

This was a good book. There were some sparks between Johan and Joy. It seemed to be mostly on Johan’s side at first. I did understand though as Joy was the one with her life in an uproar.
Joy works for a company and finds some drugs that have come up missing. She calls her friend Kai who in turns called Ice. Ice sends in Johan and Galen to find out what is going on. Things quickly heats up in action. There is plenty of murder, mystery and mayhem here.
This book is written in a dual POV format. This was great into understanding some of the actions and speech of Joy’s. I loved Johan. You could really see that he was attracted to Joy but he was cautious to get behind what was going on at the company where Joy worked.
There was a sexy scene so I can only recommend this to someone over the age of 18. If you enjoy a suspenseful romance, you may what to give this a try.
This has a strong sexy hero, and a smart sexy strong heroine. The sexual tension between them has sparks flying. There is enough danger, suspense, passion, spice, action and intrigue to keep a reader’s interest. I enjoyed reading and can recommend to everyone who reads this genre..
This is book 21 in the Heroes for Hire series and it features Johan and Joy. She discovered some inventory discrepancies at her new job and being that the last person in her position was killed, she need some help. Johan and Galen go in undercover. Johan and Joy are attracted to each other but it’s very difficult to see her attraction to him. She’s kind of an odd person. The build up of the mystery and suspense is fantastic but when the climax hits, the story just rolls over it and continues on.
The story line is great but needs a little more of an exciting peak. As always, all the guys that work for Levi and Ice are awesome! Always looking forward to more!

This is another book in Dale Mayer’s “Heroes for Hire” series. As in her other books, Ms. Mayer creates two strong characters – an intelligent, courageous, independent heroine, and an intelligent ex-military hero with lots of patience and compassion. They both have a strong ethical code of what is right and what is wrong. Ms. Mayer also creates a compelling, complex plot, which includes an evil villain who she expertly hides through a lot of fake clues.
Joy is a relatively new employee when she discovers that her inventory lists show some missing drugs. When she tells her superiors, they ignore her. Finally, she tells her friend, Kai, who is married to an ex-military man who works for the Heroes for Hire group. The group sends two men, Johan and Galen, to investigate.
Some of my favorite parts in this book occur when Johan, Joy and Galen attempt to figure out who the villain is and why. This author skillfully creates scenes that illustrate how they work together to find evidence which they eventually piece together to solve the crime.
Johan’s Joy is a mystery with lots of intrigue and adventure. When you add Johan and Joy’s romance to the formula, you will find a page-turner that is impossible to put down.
I never have been and never will be disappointed in any book written by Dale Mayer! … She has a definite talent for writing books both individually and in a series……the characters and the books flow so smoothly together!….this book kept me on the edge of my seat, turning the pages and gasping with each new turn in the story. I will be reading this book/series again and again. I loved the development of the story and how the author decided to put it together. The characters were rich in detail and thoughts and I could picture their lives and feel their emotions. The steamy was well balanced with the action and drama. Can’t wait for the next book! Happy reading everyone!!
Heroes for Hire is one of my favorites! Each entry is new and yet familiar and this one is no different. Johan is sent to help Joy look for missing drugs. Joy’s coworkers are no help and the atmosphere is tense. Thankfully Johan and Galen are there to help. Great suspense and and exciting turns. Love the risks and how Joy is protected from those out to get her. Joy and Johan get together and another perfect couple is created!

Johan is still getting use to how things work under Ice and Levi after working under Bullard in Africa and isn’t sure the job he and Galen are sent to do is really what they would be doing while in the US. Joy didn’t expect to cause such a ripple effect when she started her new job and now that Johan and Galen are here to dig deeper so much more is unraveling and she doesn’t who to trust, lucky whether either of them like it or not they are attracted to each other and Johan has gone into protector mode. It was great that Kai who is Joy’s friend makes an appearance along with Tyson Kai’s partner as it made you connect even more with joy. There is plenty of action, mystery, murder, some fun and a twist or two that you don’t see coming!

“Johan’s Joy” is book 21 in Dale Mayer’s must-read Heroes for Hire series and she blew me away with the unforgettable characters and a fast-paced story that included drug theft, blackmail, murders, twists and turns, ups and downs and kept me totally immersed in all that was happening from beginning to end. I loved the instant attraction and undeniable chemistry between Johan Kotton, currently at Legendary Security from Bullard’s African group and Joy Baxter who finds a lot of drugs missing from inventory at a medical research center in Houston. Ms. Mayer never disappoints whatsoever and I look forward to her next book. I received an advance reader copy from Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving my review. Johan’s Joy by Dale Mayer

Johan and Galen are on trade from Africa, spending time with Ice and Levi, when a job comes up for them. Joy left Boston and came to Houston for a change, in temperature, job. life. But once there she took the only job she could get. Working as an Inventory control person, she starts seeing drugs going missing. So when she contacts her friend for advice, she gets help. But there is trouble everywhere, and when bodies start piling up, it’s time for Johan to save Joy. A really good story!
This book dragged me in from the first page and had my attention till the very end! I loved the characters and their interaction and loved the story line. The story was another that keeps you engrossed and had you wondering what would happen next. Again this was an awesome book and can’t wait for the next in the series!
Another awesome installment in this series.
A suspense romance that is full of drama, mystery, theft and blackmail. Oh we won’t forget the slow simmering chemistry happening too.
Is she is danger? Is he her knight in shining armour? Time will tell if they both survive.
Great story, wonderful characters, I loved it.
When Kai’s BFF, Joy, asks for help with some missing Ketamine. The Levi’s group assigns Johan and Galen to help solve the mystery. Johan and Joy have great chemistry. Johan is very concentrated on protecting Joy to help her survive till they solve the mystery. As always, I love how the author has intelligent and hard-working men and women in her stories. It was a great read and a great addition to the series.

Johann over from Africa is hoping for a job or two with Levi before heading back. Little did he know it would be sooner not later. Joy finds a discrepancy in the inventory. A serious problem when a valuable and very dangerous drug is missing and it wasn’t just a vial but a box. When her boss acts like it is nothing, Joy contacts her bestie and the Legend’s are on the job.

Johan’s Joy is book 22 of the Heroes for Hire book series. Johan and Galen have worked all over the world as teammates for Bullard out of his Africa business. Joy is concerned that she found a large amount of drugs missing and no one at Westgroup where she works is concerned about it. Her bosses keep brushing her off saying that its an accounting error. When Joy brings her troubles to her friend Kai, who just happens to have a partner that works at Legendary Security, Kai brings up these concerns to Ice the co-owner of the company. Now that Johan and Galen are in the US, they are looking to take a job from the Legendary Security company to see how the US company works. Their assignment is to find out what happened to the drugs Joy discovered missing. Although this is not the usual adrenaline filled job that Johan and Galen usually work, they accept the job from Ice to find what happened to the missing drugs and who is behind their missing. As they investigate, they find a mysterious death, murders and blackmail. Johan realizes that his protection of Joy is more than just the job, but he doesn’t want to look to closely at why. Everyone can see the sparks between Johan and Joy except for the two of them. Besides the budding romances, I like reading the books in this series because the endings are always a surprise. If your looking for a good story and great characters, take some time to read this book.
Oh yeah…I’m a fan of Heroes for Hire series, and this book is not an exception, it has theft, smuggling, murder in it and of course I love it, not much actions as I’d wanted to and the first few chapters a bit mundane for me with those company processes things, but when the actions hit, I forgot everything and devoured it in one sitting and the banter between Joy and Johan is so adorable and always love the camaraderie of the troops. So overall I really enjoyed it.
If you’re looking for a light suspense read, this the book for you.
Another great read in the Heroes for Hire series, this time it’s Johan, who is one of Bullard’s men and in the U.S. going on assignment to look into a potential theft of ketamine. The one who asked for help is Joyce aka Joy, who happens to be Kai’s BF and enlists the help of Ice. Johan and Galen go undercover at the company and meet Joy, who Johan is attracted to. But with all that is going on, the theft and murders, Johan is more worried about protecting Joy when she becomes a target.
A great read with a bit of steam, suspense and great characters. I love these reads, the little to no drama between the couples, no OW drama and the suspense, trying to figure out who dun it. I was missing what happens to James, Joy’s boss, was he involved or not? Otherwise another great by this author.
*I voluntarily read an advanced copy and expressed my honest opinion*
Book #21 carries on the non-stop action of the SEALs of Honor series.
Who would have thought a job keeping track of inventory could be so suspenseful? Dale Mayer did when creating Johan’s Joy, the latest addition to her famous SEALs in Heroes For Hire.
Johan is stateside from Africa when Levi and Ice assign him to check into a case involving some Ketamine that appears to be missing from Joy’s workplace. It doesn’t take much to stir up a hornets’ nest and put a target on their backs.
Rich with great characters, who dunnit suspense and sparks of romance, this story is page turning entertainment!
I voluntarily reviewed an arc of this book.
Another wonderful story in the Heroes for Hire series, it is a standalone romance with plenty of drama, action and sizzling chemistry. Joy has mentioned to her friend Kai, that something weird is going on in the company she works for and soon Johan and Galen walk through the doors and chaos and murder begin. There is so much happening that it just keeps you enthralled. Highly entertaining every time. Loved it.
