Kip Carmichael is no pretty boy. He’s a rough. Dirty. Giant. Hair so unruly, and a beard so thick, his friends on the team call him Sasquatch. The first time Sasquatch lays eyes on Theodora “Teddy” Johnson across the keg at a party one night on Jock Row, she’d been relegated to the sidelines by her jock hungry “friends.”Week-after-week, he watches beautiful but bashful Teddy getting overshadowed, … Teddy getting overshadowed, and overlooked. Sasquatch finally broad shoulders his way through the crowd, offering to to be her hairy godmother. But the minute their eyes meet? He’s a goner.
Teaching her the RULES for winning a jock will be the easy part. Not falling in love with her is going to be a losing game.

I really enjoyed this one a lot! I’m giving it 4.5 out of 5 stars. This review is for an ARC, and reflects my honest opinion.
I read Jock Row a few months ago, and loved the characters, so I wasn’t sure I’d love this book as much. Newsflash: I did! We had dual POV again, and I loved both equally. This was an entertaining read, and there were some scenes that were fire! This focused on rugby for the sport, which was a happy surprise; although we only really saw one match, and it wasn’t that detailed.
Kip was a little crass, and definitely hairy (he calls himself a hairy godmother after all), but I just loved his character! He was used a lot, so he was super cautious especially at the beginning of the book. Teddy was adorable, and I felt like we could be best friends. The connection between these two was great; I liked how they started out with a weird friendship/partnership.
I found myself laughing several times while reading this, so I’d say it was a romantic comedy. We don’t meet that many people in this book besides the main characters, so we were pretty much focused solely on them. We met some of Teddy’s friends, some of the jocks were mentioned, and Kip texted his sister a few times. I was expecting a bit more family after how big a part they played in the previous book, but these characters were more independent, so that made sense. I can’t wait to read more books in this series!
***5 ‘Hairy Godmother’ Stars***
This was a fun and quick read, it really was, not that I am at all surprised considering how much I’ve loved the other books in the series as well as the HTDAD series, but this one I devoured and while devouring it I not only laughed out loud (many, many times) but also swooned and melted as Kip and Teddy barreled towards each other and their unexpected HEA.
Kip aka Sasquatch aka Hair Godmother ~ I WANT one. No, seriously. I want a man like Kip Carmichael. Talk about book boyfriend goodness. He’s perfectly imperfect in all the best ways: protective, lack of edit button and dedicated along with a golden heart, and the man is simply leathal.
Teddy. This girl. I’ll admit that in the beginning I wanted to reach out and shake some sense into her, because it was painful to watch her do what she’d been doing. But then that spark, that strength of will that got her to where she currently was in her life started to become a true flame and I ended up adoring her. I loved her wit, sarcasm and drive and just how good of a soul she truly was.
Kip and Teddy’s journey to their HEA was all kinds of sweet and swoony and laugh out loud fun. It was a slow burn, sweet one and I loved watching as they got to know each other and find that there was a lot more going on beneath the surface than either expected. Their bantering was a lot of fun and smexy between them was perfect!
I’ll admit that I went into this one already believing that I’d end up adoring it, not only for the reasons I stated in the beginning, but also because our ‘Hero’ is a rugby player and I have a HUGE ooey gooey soft spot for rugby players and the sport ~ though I still only know the basics. So I definitely unbiased going in, but what I found was a story with two characters I could connect with on many levels and truly want to see them evolve and while doing it, be together. And as for the supporting cast of characters…Ronnie is abso-fucking-lutely AMAZING. Hands down. Hard stop.
So, if you’re looking for a sweet, relatively low on drama but high on snark, romcom…then this is a definite must read!

When Kip spots Teddy at a keg party one weekend, he ends up watching her for a bit and sees just what kind of friends she has. The very next weekend he spots the same girl pretty much standing in the same place. Deciding that something should be said, he walks over and does just that, says something. When Kip offers his services as her “hairy godmother”, and will sort of coach her and get her into the dating scene, he isn’t attracted to Teddy at all. But the more time the two spend together, the more they become aware of each other. Will the two figure out that maybe what they needed was right in front of them the whole time?
This was a cute read, that ended way too soon for me. The build up between Kip and Teddy was amazing, I do wish that the follow through was a bit better, the naughty times were a bit of a let down after all that build up. I did really enjoy it so I give it 4 stars.
I loved this one! It’s not a baseball story this time it’s Rugby. Teddy is just trying to enjoy college and maybe find a nice guy. Her room mate and best friend Mariah keeps making her go to the Rugby house for party’s.
Every Friday night they go and every week Teddy is ignored and left at the keg to be a “bar maid”
The big bearded man Kip notices her and her terrible friend that looses her. He decided to step in and leave his comfort zone and no girl zone.
I loved the dynamic between them and how she gets confident and he gets more cuddly. All the things you love about Sara’s writing with a whole new set of characters. I want more of the rugby team and more Kip!
Another wonderful story. I love the writing style. It’s fun. This was a good story that made me laugh and smile through the whole thing. Enjoyed!!
I was immediately sucked into the book and could not put it down until I finished the last word! I just loved everything about it! The story, the characters, the humor, the banter, the steam…it was all perfection! This book has one of my favorite and hottest non-sex scenes ever! The author was able to create so much passion and heat and intensity in just this one scene. I felt like I needed a cigarette after reading it and they didn’t even have intercourse! The author just knocked it out of the park with this story! It’s going on the 2018 favorites list for sure!
I loved Teddy and Kip! Kip decides he’s going to help Teddy snag a jock by being her hairy godmother. They become closer and they end up falling for each other and it was so adorable! The steamy scenes were hot! They had amazing chemistry and the banter between them was hilarious! I definitely recommend this hot and sweet read!
Another amazing read from Sara Ney!!
As soon as I heard about Jock Rule, I knew that this was going to be yet another must read from Sara.
Kip and Teddy are two characters with an undeniable passion between them. Sparks fly almost instantaneously. Even in the beginning, when they may not be the best of friends, you can tell the heat that burns between them. They have this pull that will make readers everywhere swoon and sigh with the overall connection behind it.
I am a huge fan of Sara’s books, and Jock Rule is certainly no exception. It is definitely a must read!
4.5/5 Stars!
I liked this book a lot. The only problem I had was one it could have been a little longer it felt like the last chapter kind of just cut off. Also the last few pages of the last chapter Teddy was a tad bit to rude to Kip for my liking.
Overall I really enjoyed the book & recommend the read.
You can never go wrong with a Sara Ney novel. Kip was everything!!!
Sara Ney does it again!! I love this series! Friends to lovers is one of my favorite troupes and Sara Ney knocks it out of the park with Jock Rule! Kip and Teddy were so perfect! This was a sweet and steamy read – FIVE STARS!!
Sara Ney knocks it out of the park with Jock Rule. Funny, sweet, just the right amount of tension. And that one scene? You’ll know it when you get there. All I can say is, DAMN.
Refreshingly different..loved the humor and snarkiness! Great characters, no angst.sweet fun read!
I enjoyed this one. Not as much as Jock Row, but it was still enjoyable. I liked Kip and Teddy quite a bit. While Teddy was timid and learning her way around,Kip was so damn funny. I mean who doesn’t love lumberjack looking dude who is crass and says whatever is on his mind? He and Teddy together were fun to read about.
There were some things that I wish were done differently. I liked that this was a friends to lovers. However, it seemed like the relationship turned romantic out of nowhere. Also, why does every female in this series have to have crappy female friendships? It was the same in Jock Row. I would LOVE to see just one heroine in this series have a good female friendship.
While I did have a good time reading this one, I enjoyed Jock Row so much more. I hope she continues with this series because I would love to read more about the athletes and their relationships on Jock Row.
I love everything about a story that makes me laugh so much it causes me to snort and this book was definitely one that did that.
I loved everything about the characters, the snark, the subtle innuendos and the all around feel surrounding the cute Teddy and adorable Kip. I swear I had a huge smile on my face as I read their incredibly entertaining story!
I just loved both of their attitudes, I particularly loved how Kip was. He was so endearing I really wanted to adopt him as my own, can’t I do that with fictional characters????!!
To be quite honest, this book could have been longer and I would’ve floated away on a happy high. I kid you not!!
This was the absolute best book and just has to be read to be enjoyed. Go grab it or you are missing out on something really wonderful! #JockRulerules
Kip can be my hairy godmother.
ANY.
DAY.
Loved this book so much.
So many feels, so much love, I couldn’t turn the pages fast enough.
Oh my god, I LOVED the living hell out of this book! It was everything I was hoping for and more. I didn’t expect to be this captivated and taken by this story, but here I am—all smitten and swoony and just high up on cloud nine because of Kip and Teddy! Hell, I’m still smiling like a damn lunatic, writing this review. I couldn’t put the book down—these two had me flipping the pages like crazy, yet at the same time, I never wanted it to end. Their story was just hilarious and adorable and so addictive. I couldn’t get enough!
Kip “Sasquatch” Carmichael was this hairy and burly, yet gentle giant you’ll just want to snuggle up to and keep forever. He also has this certain charm and protectiveness you’ll crave to get wrapped up in. Theodora “Teddy” Johnson was this shy girl bursting at the seams with kindness, but still had a hint of her own brand of sass. She’s demure, but when she gets comfortable around you, her feisty side comes out to play.
These two couldn’t have been more different looking from the outside, but when they’re together? It’s like an explosion of flirty, giggle-worthy banter; fiery sexual tension that’s off the charts; and a heart-melting tenderness that will strike you deep. And their inner thoughts—gosh were they like a pot of gold. I was freaking snort-laughing half the time just because of all the ridiculousness going on inside their heads. It was spectacular!
Jock Rule is more of a slow burn romance, but with the kind of electrifying chemistry that these two have, you’ll be so engrossed in every single moment, you’d barely even notice. The build up was just too intoxicatingly delicious. Kip and Teddy have the kind of fire and sexiness that’s subtle and will creep up on you—the next thing you know, your heart is hammering inside your chest and your toes are curling right alongside them. This is the kind of book that’s light with little to no angst at all and just full of good vibes, yet will still stick with you for days on end. There were scenes that I’m sure I’ll remember long after I’ve read this. It was just ultimately that awesome and memorable to me.
A completely unputdownable new adult rom com with uniquely unforgettable characters you wouldn’t want to miss, Jock Rule is definitely one of Sara Ney’s best work to date. If you’ve read, loved and obsessed over her other novel, The Learning Hours (like I did), I guarantee, you’ll fall hard for this one too. Get ready to have your heart, your ovaries, and yes, your panties stolen and owned by Sasquatch. Trust me, this hairy godmother with a sweetness like no other is absolutely worth EVERYTHING.
I’m a sucker for a good sports romance and Jock Rule checked all the boxes. It was signature Sara Ney. Full of humor, heart and heat.
I LOVED me some Kip. Holy smokes- he just kind of snuck up on me and made me swoon all over the place. He was a bit of a recluse and tried to keep to himself. And despite his tall stature and out of control hair, he was gentle giant. Especially when it came to Teddy. Shy and smart and sweet Teddy. She was a bit awkward and socially aloof but determined to break out of her shell just a bit.
I liked the sweet slow burn. Teddy’s naivete when it came to all things of the opposite sex. Kip’s patience even when he was burning up inside. But holy smokes did these two steam it up. It was a hair unexpected and a whole lot of hotness. I don’t think either of them knew Teddy had that in her, but neither one of them were complaining.
Overall, Jock Rule was a sweet and easy read. It was high on humor and randomness. Sara Ney has this uncanny ability to take the outcast among the stars and make them shine. And that is exactly what she did with Kip and Teddy. Their connection was genuine and natural. Nothing about them felt forced. And seeing them both come out of their shell put a happy little smile on my face.
So in love with Sara Ney and all her books and Jock Rule just adds to why I love her so much. Teddy and Kip- AMAZING!!!! It’s a sports, young love, real love romance! Kip- the rugby guy, who is just ready to be done with college stalks Teddy at some rugby parties. He drawn from a far! Teddy- hard working to get through college to give herself a better life, tries to go and socialize but isn’t really into the party scene.
Their connection is one of annoyance at first when Kip first throws himself into Teddy’s life to help her, and develops into something so sweet, so true of love and friendship.
I laughed through the whole book as Sara Ney’s writing is amazing one again full of witty lines where you just laugh out loud and smile. Kip’s relationship with his sister Ronnie is awesome too! Thank you Sara Ney for another amazing book!
Man, I loved this book!
I didn’t want to put it down. Like, at all, even for the time to eat or sleep.
Kip—aka Sasquatch—is THE BEST. A hairy beast with a heart of gold, and a great, crude sense of humor. I loved his bumbling attempt to be Teddy’s ‘hairy godmother’ when he sees her friends, and then his teammates, taking advantage of her natural inclination to be helpful and quiet. And I loved the slow-building burn of their chemistry, which is initially blocked by Kip’s very visible shield of his ‘moutain man’ beard and mane of hair that he keeps in a man-bun, and Teddy’s irritation with his interference in the jersey-chasing that she’s not actually doing. Not to mention his insistence that her oldest friend and her other friends are taking advantage of her. I love how Teddy is initially so awkward with Kip, but she never once hesitates to trust him. And it’s incredibly sweet how protective Kip is of her from the first time he lays eyes on her, almost a month before he ever speaks to her.
But as they grow to be friends, and grow more comfortable with each other, they have off-the-wall chemistry and so much heat you won’t hesitate to call them Sara’s hottest couple yet!
