Oh My another wonderful Holiday read that had me reading as if I were watching a movie. This was like a fairy tale meets parent trap inside a book. Author Barbara Dunlop knows how to pen a book that keeps you glued to the pages from the beginning until the very end. When I started the book I thought I was going to be getting a wedding book based in the holidays type thing. Oh my no, not at all. This book is all about Kate and her children and of course her ex husband and his wicked fiance’. It is based around the Christmas season thus Jingle Bells and well that is all I am sharing other than this book was so good I stayed up reading it as soon as it touched my kindle. So keep that in mind when you crack the spine of your book as well. Enjoy I did.
Barbara Dunlop’s Jingle Bells and Wedding Vows definitely brought Parent Trap to mind. I loved the original Parent trap and couldn’t wait to read this modern retelling. Ten year old twins, Scarlett and Sam, are irresistible and doing all they can to get their parents, Kate and Brock, back together. I loved the holiday season setting and that we get more than one point of view in Dunlop’s Jingle Bells and Wedding Vows.
Ten-year-old Scarlett and Sam don’t want their father to remarry He used to be a fun loving if very busy paediatric surgeon but ever since he started dating chairman of the boards daughter he has turned into someone they don’t really like and now he is intending to marry her on Christmas Eve but these kids have a plan. Kate Andrews still loves her ex husband but he wanted to move to San Francisco for his career and it was the final straw in their marriage and now he is intending on remarrying and she won’t even have her kids with her for Christmas. Will they kids plan work will they get their parents back together Can the things that broke their marriage be fixed You will have to read to see but I can guarantee that these two schemers will have you laughing out loud
Jingle Bells and Wedding Vows by Barbara Dunlop is a fun to read Christmas It does have an updated “wicked” to-be-stepmother so it follows the traditional literature pattern somewhat. However the children in question are much more inventive than the ones in fairy tales, not leaving anything to chance if they can help it.
There is also a strong Parent Trap vibe to this story but I for one enjoyed it. This has two precocious ten year-olds who make a plan of action to stop the wedding, then precede to follow through. Some drama, some soul searching and a happily ever after, makes this a wonderful story. Sometimes this author and I have not been on the same wavelength but this time it’s a winner for me.
4.5 Stars
An ARC of the book was given to me by Tule Publishing which I voluntarily chose to read and reviewed. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
An awesome book but it should come with a caution label: Do not start late in the day. I started this book later in the afternoon and was up until 3:30am because I just could not put it down. Now there is nothing wrong with that unless you have to be at work in the morning and get up at 7:30.
Kate finds out her ex-husband is getting married again. He is marrying Jacinda and the kids don’t care for her. Kate tells the children that their Dad would not get married without them so they have to go to the wedding. Jacinda has decided to have the wedding over Christmas at an amusement park. She doesn’t want Christmas decorations because she wants the whole thing centered around her.
Kate makes them go to the wedding and she has her Christmas with the kids early so that they won’t miss their presents at home. A really good book that you should read.

If you want a really great read with a Christmas theme this is the book for you its such a lovely story that will truly make the season bright. Kate is a divorced mother of twins, her ex is a pediatric surgeon who chose to practice in San Francisco which was the cause of their breakup. Kate has a tv cooking show that is getting high ratings so her life is as she likes it . That is until she gets the call that Brock her ex is marrying again to the daughter of the head of his hospital. All should be good, you think? Problem is its for Christmas Eve and the twins have to travel to the venue and they dislike their future stepmother. Add in that Kate still loves Brock. Ms. Dunlop has you laughing, smiling and every other emotion in this wonderful story. I loved it and hated to have it end. Don’t miss this one

This is Kate Andrews and Brock’s story.
Maybe I was spiteful.
Or maybe I was just a good mother.
The way I was feeling right now, it could have gone either way.
The timer went off on my oven, and I realized that thirty minutes had gone by since the phone call from my ex-husband.
Brock was getting remarried. Jacinda Addington had succeeded in getting a diamond ring on her finger, and she wasn’t losing any time getting him to the altar.
A Christmas wedding. How romantic. And how flipping inconvenient for everyone but her.
Naturally, Brock wanted our ten-year-old twins at the wedding. And since the wedding was being held in Mountain Mystic Village, Colorado, a two-hour plane ride from Hedly Creek, California, it only made sense for the twins to stay there for a few days.
Jingle Bells and Wedding Vows by Barbara Dunlop is a 5 star book.

Jingle Bells and Wedding Vows
Jingle Bells and Wedding Vows by Barbara Dunlop. This is Kate and Brock Andrews story. But lets not forget their twins Scarlett and Sam who play an important role in this story.
Kate and Brock are divorced and Brock is getting remarried at Christmas time so he needs to the kids to be at the wedding. Sam and Scarlett are not happy about the wedding and do not like Jacinda, their dad’s fiancée so don’t underestimate their power in changing these plans. This is hard on Kate because she thought she had moved on but realizes that she still has feelings for Brock.
A cut, funny, and sweet Christmas read that is a perfect way to get in the Christmas spirit or just escape for a little while. This reminds me of the fun family Christmas movies that I love to watch. I laughed so much while reading the Andrews’ family’s story which is great for relieving stress.

I received a review copy before release for an honest review.
This was a really funny and sweet holiday romance between two exes at a ski resort in a bit of a parent trap scenario. It was funny and I loved every second of the story. It is very different than I have ever read before in that it has two sides, Kate the wife of the ex who is getting married and her daughter, Scarlett, age 10 who is very anti her dads new marriage.
The ex is Brock and he is marrying Jacinda but she is the evil step mother every kids has nightmares about. So the kids come up with a plan or plans to stop the wedding and it’s a lot of fun. If you want hijinks and and laughter, you will absolutely love this story.
I really wanted to enjoy this book just couldn’t get into it,reminded me of the Parent Trap movies only with a Christmas theme.
This is the cutest, most endearing story ever of twins doing all they can to thwart their father’s wedding. Their main aim is to uncover the soon-to-be wicked step-mother. They dream up the cutest scenarios to do this and craziness and humor abounds.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
I wanted to love this book but didn’t. I kept picturing and comparing it to the 2 different Parent Trap moves that are out. Don’t get me wrong. It’s sweet at times, funny especially the kids shenanigans and has a Christmas theme to it. It’s one that does hold your attention. You have ten year old twins-brother and sister working their magic to stop their dad’s Christmas wedding to a self absorbed stepmother to be and needing a miracle to get their parents back together. Overall for me it was just an okay read. But I know others may love it. I voluntarily read and reviewed an ARC from Tule Publishing
Oh how I enjoyed this book, so different than any I have read lately, with chapters going back and forth with the mother and then the daughter, the daughters is her telling what she and her twin brother are up to and their feelings about getting a new step mom they don’t like at all, and their antics and plans to stop this from happening.
Yes it has some heartache, regrets and lots of worries but I am recommending it to other romance readers.
