Nearly five years ago, Cheyenne Hawkins came to Whiskey Ranch for one thing: to train to be the best. When she left, she was confident she’d be at the top of the rodeo circuit until a dizzy spell landed her in the hospital and she found out she left the ranch with much more than she expected. However, Cheyenne was already engaged to someone else. Cheyenne told herself it was for the best if she … she stayed away from JB. She told herself she loved her fiancé, and she had a career to chase. And that’s exactly what she did. Five years later, divorced, she’s one of the best cowgirls in the circuit, and her four-year-old son, Jimmy, couldn’t be prouder. The last thing Cheyenne wants is to see JB Whiskey, but when he shows up at a rodeo and spots her with their son, she realizes she must face the music and tell him the truth.
She can handle his anger. She can even deal with JB not wanting anything to do with her or her son, but nothing could have prepared her for the idea that JB would demand she allow their son to come to the ranch for an extended visit so they could get to each other.
Jim Beam Whiskey never thought he’d be living alone. He always believed his brother, JD would be his roommate forever. They both shared one major common bond: a broken heart. But his brother went off and did the unthinkable and found himself the kind of love that heals a wounded soul.
Well, JB had done that once, and Cheyenne ran out him, leaving him to pick up the pieces for the second time. He vowed, there would never be a third. That is until he sees a young boy with a double shot of JB’s eyes and a hauntingly familiar smile. JB doesn’t need a paternity test to know he’s Jimmy’s father. However, he is going to need to find a way to forgive Cheyenne for leaving him all those years ago as well as proving to her that he can change and be the kind of father Jimmy needs and the kind of husband Cheyenne deserves.

Awesome Second Chance Romance. Jim Beam and Cheyenne Hawkins were lovers, then her fiance shows up. One thing JB can’t tolerate is cheating. He sends her on to her new future. 5 years later, he meets a precious boy that happens to be his son. Cheyenne planned to introduce them and let JB now they would work out the parenting, him at Whiskey Ranch and her and Jimmy in Texas. Will that work? Read Jim Beam (It’s all in the Whiskey Book 4) to find out.
I loved the storyline. The two main characters can be stubborn to a fault. With the help of family, they see what is in front of their noses. The characters are flawed, but that is what makes them real. I loved the story and highly recommend this along with the others in the series. I love Jen Talty and all her wonderful books.
I do enjoy a second chance romance and Jim Beam was another good addition to the Whiskey siblings series. Cheyenne was an up and coming bronco rider when she met JB at the family ranch in Idaho. They fell for each other and had a whirlwind of a time together. JB hadn’t confessed his feelings to Cheyenne when to his surprise her never before mentioned fiance turns up! Things did not end well and Cheyenne returned home to Texas to try and put together the pieces of her life. She did leave with a tiny piece of JB much to her surprise so Cheyenne did what she needed to do and moved forward with her life. Now it’s 5 years later and she’s returning to Idaho. She plans to talk to JB and let him know what happened 5 years ago but what she doesn’t realize is that JB is at the same rodeo and the cat’s out of the bag! This is a quick, sweet, easy contemporary western romance that can easily be enjoyed in one lazy day of reading. It was told from dual POV and stands alone however I do recommend reading the rest of the series so you can get to know all of the Whiskey siblings.
Jim Beam is the fourth installment of the Whiskey family series and it is an enjoyable second chance romance with a HEA. Talty does a great job encompassing the overall atmosphere of the story as well as the characters’ emotions and family drama to provide the reader a perfectly balanced romance with laughs, grumbles, suspense, conflict, great chemistry, family support and love, and an adorable little boy that steals the spotlight.
JB and Cheyenne had a relationship while she was at the ranch to learn tips, tricks, and techniques from him for the rodeo circuit. She had one goal in mind – to be the best female cowgirl on the circuit. When all her hard work was paying off and they both thought she was ready JB also had some additional plans. While setting up the perfect night and getting ready to confess his feelings and talk about their future, he and Cheyenne both receive a huge shock when her fiancé appears on the ranch without notice. She is devastated that JB will not let her explain but he wishes her well and cuts all ties. With no choice but to move forward, she ends up marrying Scott only to discover a short time later a complication that will not only affect her career but her marriage as well. Her husband takes care of part of her problems by way of divorce (and running her through the ringer to save his pride) but the other part of her problem is a bit tougher to handle. She has to face JB and his family again after five years with a secret that will change all their lives.
JB barely survived his first horrible relationship but Cheyenne became the balm to his heart and he truly thought they had a chance when she was training with him at the ranch. They had so much in common and were good together in every way; especially the chemistry department. But when she lied and broke his heart right as he was ready to confess his love and make a life with her that was the final straw. Never again would he let a woman past his defenses, he’d just stay a confirmed bachelor for life. His siblings had their loves and families on the way and he’d be a great uncle to his nieces and nephews and that’d be that. Well, once again fate has different plans and when he runs into Cheyenne and her little boy at a competition where he’s set to buy some horses his world is upended yet again.
Both these characters were so incredibly stubborn, neither wanting to give in first, that the tension stayed high through most of the story. Each was a little too set in their ways at certain parts but it fit with the scenarios and added more intrigue to their situation. I enjoyed the interactions with the whole Whiskey clan as they all tried to help JB and Cheyenne sort their relationship and see what everyone else saw – that they belonged together. And in my opinion, little Jimmy just stole the show. He was such a delight to be added in the mix and the scenes with just him and JB were so sweet. I also really enjoyed the ending of the story with this couple; with the road they traveled on to get their happy ending, it was perfect.
This is the first book of the series that I’ve read and I’m going to read the first three soon. Obviously the series doesn’t have to be read in order because each book is about a separate sibling in the Whiskey clan, but the other books would clear up the characters backgrounds. Cheyenne lied by omission that she was engaged while having a relationship with JB (Jim Beam). He was ready to take the next step in the relationship when her fiance showed up to take her home. She tried to contact JB. At first he would ignore her calls then changed his number. Message received. Five years later they come face to face and her newest secret was revealed – Little Jimmie. Cheyenne always talked to Jimmie about his Daddy in a good way and wished JB was part of his life. They may get their chance now if only they would be honest with each other about how they feel. This story was also interesting to me because it is set in Idaho not too far from where I live.
Five years ago Cheyenne spent time at the Whiskey Ranch training with JB. During that time they fell into a relationship and when her fiancé shows up on the last day it very near broke JB. He wouldn’t let her explain and she married the man she left the ranch with. That didn’t work out for her once she discovered she was pregnant. There was no way it could be her husband’s child.
Cheyenne is been back on the Rodeo circuit, her goal is the same as it’s always been, win and beat the world record. This rodeo in Nevada is where she started her career and as of today she would end it.
JB has to pick up a couple of horses at the rodeo and he brings JD’s wife’s assistant Paget along to help with them. Normally he’d watch the events but his plans were to avoid Cheyenne. That is until he sees Jimmy and realizes he’s Cheyenne’s son and looks just like him.
After her ride there was some conversation until Jimmy joins them. The scores were about to be announced.
Cheyenne makes two startling revelations to the crowd after taking her victory laps, first she’s retiring and second, JB Whiskey is her son’s father.
JB is more than willing to step into the role of father, but he really wants more. He still loves Cheyenne and she loves him, but the barriers they’ve both put up will be hard to break down. The interactions with Jimmy with JB and the rest of the family are full of love and fun. However, Cheyenne intends to return to Texas with Jimmy only to visit on long weekends and holidays. JB is determined to change her mind, but in order to do that he must say the words.
I loved this story with all it’s ups and down’s, the birth of a baby, some sizzling heat, and so much more!
I loved how the book started 5 years previous so we got a better insight to JB (Jim Beam) and the feeling she originally had for Cheyenne. We then pop back to the now and yikes talk about a surprise for JB when he bumps into Cheyenne again. You really get to feel how torn and stubborn (good lord are they stubborn!) both JB and Cheyenne are about the past and what is happening now and not just with Jimmy but between them, I also must admit I was scared how Georgia Moon would react to Cheyenne lol This was a great read and perfect addition to the series about the Whiskey Ranch family.
This book was sweet and fun, and the characters were wonderfully frustrating. Yet, for some reason, I can’t seem to put the words together to properly express that and be more helpful to other readers than “I liked it”. Normally I don’t enjoy many books that have the same kind of secret as the one at the heart of this story. I’m not fully onside with Cheyenne’s handling of it here but I’m a sucker for a second chance and there are enough other factors that push me beyond my knee-jerk reaction. JB and Jimmy are just the sweetest. One has a heart that been a little battered and the other’s is as trusting and wide open as the sky. I think the thing I love the best about this series has been getting to know the Whiskey siblings and watching them all pull together for one another. I’m so glad to know this isn’t the last we’ll read about them.
I received a complimentary advanced copy of this book from the author.
JW is still my favorite brother, probably because it had more of a story and these others are more a glimpse. This book involves the last sibling JB. This series is about siblings with the last name Whiskey and their parents must have been drunk to get that pact. You do not need to read the other stories in order to read this one but it does help with understanding the interactions of the family.
JB loves Cheyenne. But because they are not communicating (major flaw) they wind up apart for 5 years. Yes, in the end, it does get a HEA. But we have to go through the angst.
The reason for the 4 stars – I do not feel like it was a well-developed story. It just seemed a bit to surface. I might feel this way because I have read the others so if I just read this – it might have been better.
That being said, I love the Whiskey series and cannot wait for the spin-off. It was an easy read and a good way to escape for a couple of hours.
I did buy this book but I also had an Advance Copy for an Honest Review.
Once again we are on Whiskey Ranch well part of the time and this is a lovely story of second chances and that love will eventually conquer all if you just give it a chance JB and Cheyenne both have their hang ups and this causes a lot of drama between them but the major fact is that they do love one another and Jimmy could be the reason to try again. I have loved all the All In The Whiskey series and I do believe that this series is better for having read them all you just need that background information.
Jim Beam “JB” Whiskey had his heart broken but he thought he had finally found the woman that he thought could mend it that is until he discovered Cheyene was engaged to anther man and she walked away from him What he didn’t know was that she took something that was his with her That is until he saw Cheyenne now divorced with a little mini version of him Now he wants to get to know his son but can he ever forgive her You will have to read to see
This book is all about second chances, healing, and being with you one true love! JB and Cheyenne go on a journey that follows all of the above! This sweet second chance romance gives you all the feels especially when sweet Jimmy is involved!
These books are a must read! You will laugh, get angry, cry, and go through all the feels with the Whiskey Family!
Jim Beam: It’s all in the Whiskey
Jen Talty
A second chance romance that pulls at your heart strings. JB and Cheyenne just couldn’t ever seem to work it out without misunderstandings and miscommunications. Could 3 little words bind their family together. A must read from first word to last.
JB knows heartache. Cheyenne wants to be the best. JB trains her to be the best. But in the process he gets his heart broken again, through a misunderstanding but she gets her heart broken too in the process. Each go their own way and Cheyenne finds out she’s pregnant after she’s gone and married to someone else. When JB sees her again 5 years later, though he tries to avoid her, he ends up meeting her son and there is no denying this is his son too. What comes after is a beautiful story of second chances and happy endings. You won’t be disappointed!!
This was a beautiful story. Cowboys and cowgirls, finding yourself, falling in love, and always getting back up. So many emotions in this book. Jim Beam is the 4th in the series. I was hooked frombthe beginning to the end
Possibly my favorite Whiskey brother
This book opens with a scene that absolutely breaks your heart for JB himself – and then the story moves forward and it’s hard not to hurt for him again. As soon as JB sees Cheyenne’s son, he knows he’s the boy’s father, and he’s determined not to lose him again. There’s considerable interaction with the other Whiskey siblings, and Georgia Moon particularly shows her gentler nature. I didn’t find Cheyenne a sympathetic character; I felt she left a lot unexplained (especially her earlier behavior), but Jimmy’s joy in the ranch was definitely my personal highlight.
This is another Fantastic Book by Jen Talty! I absolutely loved it and could not stop reading it until the very end. This is #4 in this series and I have enjoyed every single one. These are books that will remain in my Reread List.
I highly recommend them.
The story of JB (Jim Beam) and Cheyenne Hawkins is about family and second chances.
Cheyenne and JB have a history. Five years ago they had an affair while she was training at his family’s ranch. Unbeknown to JB, Cheyenne was engaged.
When she left with her fiance, she left behind a heartbroken JB, a man who no longer trusts the concept of love.
When they face each other 5 years later, JB sees a boy running around the rodeo grounds, and was shocked when he faces a miniature of himself. Needless to say, he felt betrayed and is determined to spend time with his son and gain back the lost years.
While the story was entertaining I never warmed up to Cheyenne. In addition, even though the author does a remarkable job in giving the reader background information on the secondary characters and their stories that occurred in the previous books, not having read them, I felt a little lost and not totally engaged.
Because of that, for me it was more of a 3.5 stars story. Realizing it’s not the author’s fault that I have not read the previous books, I will give it 4 stars.
I was entrusted a copy of this book. The opinions expressed are solely my own.
Second chance. JB and Cheyenne had a fling 5 years ago but, she left to go on the rodeo circuit. Five years later JB discovers he has a son. Cheyenne and her son move to the ranch for the summer so JB can get to know his son. Will his family forgive her? Will they be able to get past their mistakes and forgive each other? Was great to be back on Whiskey Ranch and get caught up on the rest of the family. It’s a quick read you won’t be disappointed.
After five years, Jim Beam Whiskey, aka JB is coming face to face with Cheyenne Hawkins. Five years ago, Cheyenne tore his world apart when she cheated on him. He knew she was divorced, had a son, and was set to break the record for her bronc ride. Cheyenne knew it was time. After this event she was heading to Whiskey Ranch to tell JB about Jimmy, his four-year old son. Five years ago, when she learned that she was pregnant and her marriage fell apart, she tried to contact JB, but he had blocked her from his life. When JB shows up at the event he realizes that Jimmy is his son. Can he control his temper long enough to listen to what Cheyenne has to say? He insists that she come to the Whiskey Ranch so that he can get to know his son. Ride along with JB and Cheyenne, two strong willed characters, who must learn to bend enough to give their love and future a second chance. A wild ride and an amazing book #4 in the series! I received an advance review copy at no cost and without obligation from the author. (by paytonpuppy)
Love this family so much. JB and Cheyenne had a fling while she was training for the rodeo circuit. But there are secrets, surprises and broken hearts. Another great story with the Whiskey family. HEA
