Could you love a man who had become your ruin?JettAs the president of the Savage Saints MC, I’ve got a million goddamn problems. I thought the woman who cleans my clubhouse would be the least of them. But that’s just what Raine Levick is—a f*cking problem. My problem. Not because she’s sweet and likely gonna get herself killed without the club’s protection, but because I can’t stop thinking about … club’s protection, but because I can’t stop thinking about her. I can’t stop wanting her.
I’ve got a ring on my finger that belongs to someone else, but when the bodies pile up, staying away from her is a war I can’t win. Even if it breaks us both—and it will break us.
Raine
I fell for Jetthro King the second I laid eyes on him. He took me in and gave me a job, a family, and the club’s protection, but he broke my heart all in the same breath.
Love, loss, ruin.
That’s what falling for the MC President gets you.
He’s a married man. I have no right to want him because I’ve been keeping secrets of my own and once Jett finds out, he may never look at me the same way again.
Warning: JETT contains graphic violence, loss, and sensitive subject matter that may cause some readers emotional discomfort. Intended for an 18+ audience only.
Not intended for pussies.
Savage Saints MC Series:
Book 1 – KICK
Book 2 – TANK
Book 3 – JETT
more
There is a warning for this book, and the whole series, from the author that this story is not for wusses and I feel it needs to be reiterated. There is abuse, there is a ton of violence and there is loss and other sensitive matters that might cause some readers distress. This is a series about a hard core Motor Cycle Club…. just that alone should give you some indication it is not going to be light and fluffy. So if you are looking for a love story with some grit and backbone then this is the book for you. Each one is a standalone, but to get the full sense of what the Savage Saints are about, go back and read books 1 & 2 before this one.
Now to tell you what book 3 is about, which is Jett and Raine’s tale. From the previous books, we know that Jett is the president of the MC and Raine is working the bar in his club. Their relationship hasn’t progressed to any level as the Prez is married and it’s not a place Raine wants to go. Those vows hold a special meaning to her. But their chemistry is electric! Both of them are frustrated beyond measure and it is only a matter of time and circumstance that they will collide like two ships in the night. It is how they deal with the outcome that will strengthen their bond.
I have to say, that at times I did find it hard to keep reading this story. It was sad and brutal and savage (hence the club name). My normal go to genre is rom-com, so I am way out of my comfort zone. The thing is, I HAD to know what Raine’s background was, I NEEDED to know more about Jett from reading the preceding books. I WANTED them to each get their HEA, so I kept reading until the end. My heart ached for them, and I cringed at a few chapters that made me draw back. This novel will take you to places you may not want but it is Raine and Jett’s tale, and it is ferocious and intense. I feel this one has more tragedy and action packed into it than the earlier books and it kept me intrigued to the epilogue. I knew they would get their HEA, but it was a jarring road to get there.
“The man I married is dead, and the man I love – the man I tried so desperately not to fall for – is here, holding me, kissing my forehead, and telling me I’ll be okay.
Nothing feels okay in this moment.
Nothing will ever be okay again.”
Raine cleans the clubhouse of the Savage Saints MC and therefore has the protection of the club. Clearly very different from the women who frequent the place, her manner arouses interest, but she is totally prohibited. Hiding secrets about her life, the money she earns has a purpose, which makes her struggle to make ends meet.
Jett is the Savage Saint president. A tough, brutal man, trapped in a marriage of convenience, who lives a life on the margins of society and knows that dreams are not part of his life.
Grim is a mystery. Because of his appearance, he is reserved, but extremely lethal.
Raine loves Jett, who loves Raine, who is loved by Grim. A beautiful impossible triangle.
When a threat puts the club in evidence, sharing the same space will mean confusion. Even more so, when attraction is forbidden and a troublemaker wife is willing to raise hell.
Set in the world of MC, this dark romance has a more violent tone, more adult, some facts or scenes can shock the unsuspecting.
Unfortunately, I didn’t connect with Raine or Jett. The protagonists of the book have dubious attitudes and are difficult to defend.
Grim who would be a supporting character, steals the show and becomes the best one.
3.5 stars! I’ve waited an age for Jetts story… Kick & Tank were dark , intense , raw, gritty. It had all The ingredients for the perfect MC book for me, these are and will always be my top read for this genre. Jett however, felt like it had been written by a different author , the darkness was there but the intensity wasn’t, it lack plausibility.
Raine really started to grate on me from quite early in. I want you Jett , no I don’t . Yes I do , oh what have I done you need to go… this to-ing and fro-Ing started to irk me. This was not the type of character that would suit the Prez of a 1% MC club she was weak, insecure and really not cut out for the life. Jett was not the man we came to know in the previous two books. His character was reduced to someone who pussy footed around the woman he wanted, he’d lost his macho bravado. I really wanted to shake him tell him to move on Raine wasn’t deserving.
Some of the dark scenes felt more like a spoof cowboy film, the Members charging in then a shootout and then leaving again. One scene in particular I thought just wouldn’t happen… it was like something out of a comedy sketch .
All told loved the story and this authors writing but this part was just missing the grit which would be fine if the h wasn’t so weak !
Well jees, where do I start??….
This is Book 3 in the Savage Saints MC series and I definitely recommend reading both Kick (book 1) and Tank (book 2)…I actually went back for a reread before starting this and they were better than I remembered!!
Jett is the Prez of the Savage Saints and they live up to their name! If you like your MC romances with more romance than MC then this isn’t the book for you! It’s rough, it comes with a warning which you should pay heed to because it is savage!!
Raine works for the club in their clubhouse behind the bar but only the bar, she’s not a club w**** and it’s clear as day that Raine and Jett are attracted to each other, however he’s married which is a no-go for her.
A lot happens – this isn’t an innocent MC! Which I’m not going to talk about lol, but I don’t want to give anything away! But I will say I really enjoyed it, it definitely makes you feel! Some of it I thought was rather tame, especially compared to Books 1 and 2, but then things happen and I shed a tear!
Overall, thoroughly enjoyed it, Carmen definitely knows how to tell a story!!!!
Please please please tell me we get Grims story??? Please!!!
*I voluntarily received an arc from the author and this is my honest review
ARC received for an honest review
I am a slack Jenner-babe, and haven’t read Kick and Tank, even though I have had them sitting on my bookshelf forever. I think at the time I bought them, I was a bit over the MC genre and I never went back.
But man-o-man, I am Kick-ing (see what I did there) myself now for not trusting my Carmen Jenner instincts and not reading them. I will be rectifying this soon.
I love that this series is set in my home city of Sydney, as I could a good mental picture of where things are happening.
Jett and Raine’s story had me frustrated, had me mad, had me oh so sad. I had mixed feelings about Jett, and even after finishing I am still on the fence about him – I think there were other characters I liked more for Raine then him, but this is probably just me.
Raine is so strong, so resilient, and I adore her. Because man, the hits just kept on coming and a weaker woman would have crumbled under the pressure.
So much was happening, every time I turned around, BAM there was another WTF moment hitting me in the face.
Well played Ms Jenner, well played!
I definitely need to pull Kick and Tank off my shelves and get those babies read. I hope we get more of the club in the future.
Jett is book three in the Savage Saints MC series by one of my all time favourite authors, Carmen Jenner. She never fails to get to the heart of the story, revealing everything each character is made up of. She hides nothing and exposes everything, good, bad and belligerent.
There were no smooth edges on Jett. Complete harshness, hardness and with a blinding loyalty to those he loved and his club. He really was larger than life and total frustration in a cut. He gives everything when you have his devotion, but as nobody is perfect, his brutal honesty and no beating around the bush attitude is hard to comprehend at times, but it is also a quality that makes you fall the hardest for him. He can do no wrong in my eyes, and provided me with a lifelike picture of him and all he stood for.
Raine. Well she was a hell of a woman and goes through absolute hell. Her strength was inspirational and her love for Jett unmeasurable. She had an inner strength that would help keep her adrift when life seemed to try to sweep her into oblivion. Her life was not an easy one. Her relationship with Jett was a difficult one. But despite that, she held her head up and possessed a humble dignity that was blinding in its beauty. She was always there when she was needed, and I loved her quiet but sometimes feisty personality.
This story had everything thrown in, and I really do mean everything. Many open mouthed and gasping moments, with a few “are you kidding me” times. I loved absolutely everything about Jett. Just when I think I have read everything there is to read in the MC genre, along comes Carmen Jenner and just destroys me for other authors of this trope. I am slightly obsessed with books that are risky and touch on sensitive topics. I love the books that a lot will not even take a chance on. I can always find something endearing about a book. Taboo topics enthrall me, and Carmen Jenner is the master of this field. It is so hard to put a measly 5 star rating, as I think this is worth so many more. A thrilling, brutally honest story of a hard fought love. 5 stars.
Savage Saints indeed!
Definitely not a tale for the faint of heart. All the violence and just outright brutality that come along with this gang can bring you to your breaking point. Yet in the same breath, the depth and circumstances pull you in and don’t let go.
While Jett and Raine’s story is full of sadness and loss, they are brought together by the very things that should push them further apart. They have a chemistry that is undeniable but if timing were everything then they may never have seen theirs without jumping the way they did.
You don’t necessarily need to read the other books in this series but its definitely recommended. I feel like it’s important to know where these characters come from to get a better understanding of where they will take you.
Keep in mind there are some brutal, graphic parts, that aren’t easy to read.
The story drew me in from the first page. Jett is the President of the Savage Saints MC, and he carries alot of weight on his shoulders, the constant threat to his club, looking after his MC brothers, and their women, mafia turf wars, wife he can’t stand, and the sweet bar girl Raine who he can’t help but love from afar. Raine is just trying to survive, she works hard at the club, and secretly has feeling for the Pres, but knows that they can never act on them. Jett is fast paced, action packed, gun slinging, blood thirsty, revenge, and it had a bit of everything I look for when reading MC stories.
Oh wow this one was totally worth the wait from Carmen!
This book had everything in that I love in an MC story. It had drama, Violence, battles, emotions, angst, and so much steam and passion. Soon as you start this one you will be hooked following the fight Jett and Raine have to be together.
The connection between them is off the charts hot and the chemistry is undeniable. With having to deal with everything that’s thrown at them, in all honestly their love still shines through, even if the going gets heartbreakingly tough. She brought us too people that are flawed, that are real, that have been damaged by the people meant to love them and they are starting a journey to find their happiness, together.
Carmen did an amazing job with this one, she brought the drama and so much emotion. I had tears in my eyes at one point as my heart literally shattered for Raine and for Jett. This tale isn’t for the faint hearted. Its dark, its hard, its heartbreaking but I wouldn’t want to miss out on this emotional rollarcoaster.
Well done Carmen! loved this one, made me want to go back and read the rest of the series again!
Wow this was phenomenal I was addicted from the start not knowing what to expect and oh boy I got a shock Jett and Raine were outstanding characters with alot to deal with which was brutal heartbreaking with a whole lot of feels and I had to compose myself from the shock.
This is one of those stories that will take a longtime to forget and I absolutely loved it hard .
*4 Stars*
ARC kindly received in exchange for an honest review.
This was my first Savage Saints MC book, (but not my first book by the author) and I definitely want to go back and read the first two. You can read this without, as it is easily read as a stand-alone.
Right from the start, this book captures you. The intensity doesn’t let up the whole way through. I’m a big fan of the TV Show Sons of Anarchy, and reading this reminded me of that. It’s the first MC book I’ve read, and this is definitely a part of the romance genre I want to continue to explore.
Raine was a pretty cool character, I had no issues with her, except maybe the way that she sometimes treated Grim (who by the way MUST get a book, I NEED his story!). Jett I’m not quite sure if I liked him or not. Sometimes I did, other times not so much. I’m kind of meh about his character.
The other girls in the book were fun secondary characters, as were some of the other members of the club. I did think the issues were solved between the couple without really being solved. It felt a little glossed over to me. Otherwise everything was good. Lots of intense issues that really make you think, and definitely not for the faint-hearted.
I liked this book and I will definitely return to this world. Would recommend, and look forward to more!
Before diving in to this book, heed the trigger warnings. It’s dark and dirty and pretty explicit. Not for the faint of heart.
With that said, I had read Kick and Tank years ago and was super excited to get Jett’s story. It’s been awhile since we had been back in the Savage Saints MC world, but I was ready to dive in, especially since we were warned of the triggers. I needed something more dark and disturbing with some romance.
Jett starts out fast paced and introduces us to the main characters this story is going to include. And what happens at the beginning is not pretty. It’s sad, but intense and gets your heart beating and wanting to know how the characters and the club are going to handle the situation. It had some good potential of what was to come.
Jett is the Savage Saints President and he wants one woman and one woman only. Unfortunately for him, he’s married and someone else is interested in “his woman”…..Grim.
What can I say about Grim? He’s like the scary member of an MC, but has a heart of gold, says what’s on his mind and is carrying a torch for the clubhouse’s bartender, Raine. I LOVED him and loved that he was all out in what he felt for Raine. He was a protector and was just plain there for her, no questions asked.
“I’m not happy for him. I’m not happy for you. I’m fucking miserable because you just broke my goddamn heart.”
Raine? The verdict is still out on her. She for sure wasn’t my favorite character and I think Grim could honestly do better. Especially after we find out that Raine is carrying a secret and it will change what Jett and Raine have towards one another.
I really wanted to love Jett and the story between Jett and Raine, but I was finding the story somewhat predictable and like there was too much foreshadowing. Right when a character said they would wish for something or thought something, it would happen shortly after. And it was never pretty the way it happened either. I wasn’t too keen on that. I liked the side characters and I liked when we got to be in the clubhouse. When we were on the outside, I got too much of Raine, and I guess I wasn’t a huge fan of hers, unfortunately. But I did like seeing her interact with the other women of the clubhouse. Indie and Ivy are spitfires and all three of them (along with Kimba later on in the story) together are fun to watch. I wish we had more time with the other members of the MC and what was going on with the Russians.
Overall, the story had potential but seemed to be missing some of the grit the characters had in previous books. It’s still dark and dangerous, but I wanted more from our Prez. He’s the Prez, afterall. Dark and foreboding with a strongass woman. That’s what I want for our Jett. I’ll be waiting for more in this world and I hope it’s downright ugly (in a good way). 😉 3.5 stars (rounded up)
I received a copy of this book from the publisher/author to review.
Jett
As the president of the Savage Saints MC, I’ve got a million problems. I thought the woman who cleans my clubhouse would be the least of them. But that’s just what Raine Levick is-a problem. My problem. Not because she is sweet and likely gonna get herself killed without the clubs protection, but because I can’t stop thinking about her. I can’t stop wanting her. That’s what falling for the MC President gets you. He’s a married man. I have no right to want him because I’ve been keeping secrets of my own and one Jett finds out, he may never look at me the same way again.
I was well I still am really that we got to dive back into the Savage Saints World. Kick and Tank were the first two book in this series and I fell in love with Kick from the get go. If you haven’t read these books you might want to go and read these amazing reads first. However that won’t keep you from enjoying Jett. You can read this as a standalone. It is so well written that you won’t know your missing a thing from the other character that have had previous book. But they all do make appearances in this book. This is the story of Jett and Raine. Jett is the President of the MC and man oh man is he is a messed up marriage and too has a thing for Raine. He saved her from an assault at her last job and gave her one at his MC and she has been cleaning and pouring their drinks every since. That sure isn’t helping either one of them as they are both super attracted to each other. However he is married and Raine knows better than to fall for a married man. However she too is hiding a huge secret and it is the reason she struggles to make ends meat. Then you have Grimm and he is slightly obsessed with Raine. He is actually her stalker. And because he follows her he saves her life one night and they go back to his place right away and he helps Raine. Right in the middle of this though the club has to go into lock down and that includes Raine and we find out her secret has Grimm does her a huge favor before the lock down. This book is dark and gritty and I loved it. I don’t want to give it away. What goes down in this book needs to be experienced. It is dark and gritty and will have you one the edge of your seat at times and your heart shattering at others. This book is amazing. But now I am so curious about Grimm that I can not stand it and oh Carmen Jenner please please please give me Grimm’s story.
On the very first pages and I was already hooked. It’s not the traditional guy wants girl. It’s more like 2 guys want the girl, even if a portion of that equation becomes an after thought later on.
Grim doesn’t have a filter so don’t expect him to sugarcoat anything (but I still like him and Lola very much, he has a good heart). Jett is off limits and full of responsibilities. But also sweet, demanding and protective. And Raine is a mix between a strong but naive woman. For a woman who works with bikers, she has been oblivious to the hard reality of their lives. But sadly, she is given a crash course on it.
This story is brutal. It makes you cry, and cringe with all the surprises it has. It has many triggers. You will feel a heaviness because you don’t want to see these bikers as so far gone that there is no hope for them. But it will get to that point where a line could be crossed. You will feel your heart in your throat for most of it. It has action, violence, desire. All characters will disappoint you at some point but you will already relate to their pain by then. These bikers are extreme and living a difficult life but they are good men, you can’t help to be drawn to them. They are delicious.
It might feel like eons that I’ve been waiting for the third book in the Savage Saints MC series but as soon as you start reading you are back into their world and you feel like you never left. Honestly, it was totally worth the wait!
Raine and Jett’s story is tumultuous with issues involving wives, husbands, battles with enemies and their own desires and feelings. I loved every bit of that ride with them though. They have a chemistry that is undeniable and super charged plus were so in sync with each other they were meant to be, just how this could happen was the challenge.
Absolutely amazing descriptions of both the characters and the scenes make it exceptionally easy to visualise the story. It also enables readers to feel every emotion deep in their hearts and souls. I’m not ashamed to admit that there were scenes where I had tears in my eyes and my throat was tight with emotion. My heart ached so much for Raine in particular but also for other characters as well. Strap yourself in for this emotional ride where you will laugh but you will quite probably cry too. There’s a line in the story that sums um a period of time so accurately… “…my heart filled with joy and slaughtered by sorrow”… this author is the queen of angst!
Well Wow, you did it again!! This is Phenomenal!! A Emotional yet Gritty MC Experience! Raine Levick-Cole might have protection, safety and a job by Jethro “Jett” King’s Savage Saints MC but her heart, well that might be another matter. She shouldn’t want him but she just can’t stop the pull. He is the MC President. Ruthless, hardcore, oh and already taken. There’s just something about his new clubhouse cleaner/bartender that he can’t ignore. When danger strikes and they go in lockdown, can he keep his club and Raine safe or will everything around him start to fall apart? This book is fire from the very beginning! The tension is palpable and yummy. You’re also going to need a box of tissues to get through this one. This does have a few trigger warnings but if you’re ok with that then I truly recommend this dark, gritty, emotional MC Romance. Also, I cannot wait for Grim’s story! I just need to know more!! Oh and I must mentioned that the little chihuahua with my own pup’s name stole my heart! (You’ll see what I mean when you read the book) Told in dual POV with a couple chapters in Grim’s POV. You’re going to want this one!
