Since 1925, the Suttons have helped create movie magic on their ranch in Central California. Now in 1973, it’s time for a new generation to take over.Jesse Sutton holds the reins on the newest movie project, but he’s more than aware that he’s just filling the shoes of his brother who was lost in Vietnam. His biggest challenge, making the star of the movie look like a cowboy when he’s never even … never even been on a hobby-horse.
Etta’s family has always been anything but. Tired of living in the narrow lines of her father’s love she leaves to make her own way in the world and discovers that she’s wholly unprepared to find her way.
The Suttons welcome Etta Bradford like family and the feelings that Jesse is harboring for the beautiful young woman makes him wonder if she could be the one he’s always dreamed of, but never felt he deserved. When issues with the lead actor threaten his family’s livelihood, Jesse’s forced to make a decision that might destroy the legacy created by his grandfather to protect Etta.
Will the pressures of his family legacy put an end to their love story or have they only just begun?

A great start to a new series! Set in the 1970s in California, the hero Jesse Sutton and his family work to make their ranch prosperous again. Henrietta ‘Etta’ Bradford leaves her home to find a better life. Could her stop in a new town lead to her happily ever after? I loved the instant chemistry between Jesse and Etta! His family and friends were such caring people. I can’t wait for the next book.

This is a great introduction to a new series with wonderful characters and storyline. Reina is an amazing writer that makes the characters come to life. I was rooting for the family throughout. Excited for the next generation.
I wanted to try to keep spoilers out of my review because this book is gonna be a must read for yourself and find yourself falling in love with Jesse Sutton And Henrietta Bradford. She left her fathers home for a better life and He is in charge of helping his family’s ranch which happens to have movies shot there, but when their worlds collide can they make it work? Or will she run back to her father? I absolutely love these cowboy books because Reina Torres has a way of making you feel like you are there watching from the sidelines and connects with the characters emotions as if it were you. Congratulations Reina on another Fantastic Book.
What a great intro to a wonderful family that I can’t wait to read more about. Set in the 1970’s on a ranch in California, I loved that it was a mixture of western cowboy with a contemporary movie/Hollywood type theme. Jesse and his family live on a real ranch that they built a western town on so that Hollywood producers can film their western movies or shows there. Such a cute concept. I’ve never read anything like that before so this was such a fun story for me. Jesse and Etta were absolutely adorable together. Wish they had communicated their feelings to one another before any misunderstandings occurred but then there wouldn’t be a story to read. There is a bit of drama that happens that made me almost cry for Etta but no worries there is an HEA and everything works out as it should but wow. The “villain” of this story was a real jerk. Anyway, I don’t want to give too much away but just know this was a very thoroughly enjoyable story to read.
Interesting story. Almost seems like an old western instead of modern times in 1973. Pretty good book with a HEA.
Slow sweet romance…..
Jesse is under pressure to manage the ranch and everything for the movie that is to be filmed on the ranch and with that he has to deal with a douche actor who think he is all that…
Etta is a sweet young woman finding herself and learning that she can do anything she puts her mind to. Having a domineering father who kept her on a short leash, she leaves home and ends up in a small town laundromat and meets Jesse and the owner Bettie.
This is a sweet story with some suspense, where you just want to throat punch the douche actor!
Really enjoyed your book Reina. Thanks for sharing your talent!!!
Oh and I loved the songs in the book… were singing them in my head as the scenes played out. Magical!!!
