If I could, I would give this book 100 stars. Do not go into this book looking for your typical rock star romance, you will not get it and that’s my favorite thing about it. Fascinating story written brilliantly with emotions you will feel right down to the marrow of your bones. Characters that leap off the pages, horror, mystery, suspense, anger, hurt, sex and love, are all contained in this one story. I didn’t want to put this down, waking up in the middle of the night to continue. So worth the bleary eyes and lack of sleep, will definitely be on my top reads list. Highly recommend this book.
This book was nothing like I was expecting. I don’t know what I was expecting because it’s Jewel E Ann and she always pulls the rug from under me but I wasn’t expecting this book to completely consume me. It’s literally all I thought about for three days. This story is unique, I couldn’t for the life of me figure out the characters and I ended up constantly questioning everything. I switched ‘teams’ so many times, every time I picked my person something would happen that sent me back to square one wondering who could be trusted.
I’m a big fan of this author but this book wasn’t my favourite book. I struggled to connect with some of the characters, I sat on the fence for the majority of the book as to who I liked, who I trusted, who was telling lies. I wanted to love Jersey so badly and for her to be my person but she wasn’t. I think it was one of those it’s not you it’s me things. I liked her, she grew on me eventually but I didn’t connect with her character like I was hoping. The other characters I wanted to love, I didn’t because it’s a jewel e Ann book and I know now not to let my guard down like that when reading one of her books but I definitely wanted to.
Overall I thought this is a really good book. The writing is flawless as usual and the story will definitely keep you guessing. If you’re looking for a different kind of story than I highly recommend you give this one a try.
This book was a complete surprise to me. Jewel E. Ann is an auto one click author for me, but I had the pleasure of being an advanced reader on this one.
This story is so complex. I found myself at odds while reading it. I wanted things to be true, then not true. Then I was confused at my own feelings..then finally, the author put me out of my misery. AND. BLEW. MY. MIND.
Yes. I was left blown away. I wondered about some things, but had absolutely no idea where I was about to be taken. Once all the truths are revealed you understand all the flawed, amazing characters.
Jewel E. Ann’s greatest strength in writing this story is her consistency.
Before you even begin to think that that isn’t a compliment, read on, dear reader. Read on.
Yes, this story will shake you, devastate you, and try its best to break you before it leaves you feeling protected and hopeful. I try to avoid books in which children suffer abuse because they tend to be too difficult for me to get through. Jewel E. Ann does not flinch when she tells you about Jersey’s suffering, as well as other kids lost in the same foster care system. Let me repeat: she does not flinch. You will. You will recoil in terror. But Jewel E. Ann shows you every bit of Jersey’s pains and horrors.
Yes, you will love Jersey. Not all the time. Sometimes you will want to grab her by the shoulders and shout at her to go with her gut, to listen to her voices and not the voices of another character. Yet if there ever were a character you will cheer for and desperately want to find peace and happiness, it’s Jersey Six.
Yes, you will cry. Tears may not roll down your cheeks as they did mine, but your soul will weep for the Jerseys of the world, and not just because of how they are made to suffer at the hands of despicable monsters. You will weep over what this does to them, how it leaves them feeling unloved and, worse, unlovable.
Yes, this is beautifully written. I am fairly new to Jewel E. Ann (I think this is the third book of hers I’ve read), but I am hooked. If you happen to see her, let her know that I am a fan for LIFE. From the very first pages of this book, I did not want to stop reading. I had to know what would happen to Jersey, her friend Chris, and rock star Ian Cooper. The plot twist? I never saw it coming, and I am so grateful for that. I had suspicions about someone, but I didn’t see that.
And yet what I appreciated the most is how consistent Jewel E. Ann is in characterization and plot. She is steadfastly true to who Jersey is. After all of Jersey’s tortures, she is a woman with only one context: survival. She has never been in a hotel, never flown on a plane, hasn’t even taken a shower in almost a decade. So Jewel E. Ann needs to be ever mindful of that. When Jersey is in a hotel, of course she won’t realize that the floors and doors look the same. Of course she won’t know how to put on an airplane seatbelt. Of course she won’t know what “cynical” means, however ironic that may be. Of course she will not equate sex with love. Sex, for Jersey, is a monetization. It’s a means of survival, not something you do to show affection for someone.
This consistency makes Jersey’s path all the more emotionally compelling. Jewel E. Ann shows you a woman who slowly opens herself to seeing the world, literally and figuratively. Jersey doesn’t so much evolve as shed. She sloughs off her emotional armor much like the dry, filthy skin of her feet is sloughed off during a pedicure.
Read this book. Please. Read it. Then come back and let me know what you think. Let me know how you feel about Jersey and Ian and Chris and Max, too.

How far would you go for revenge?
A hit-and-run accident leaves Jersey Six orphaned and homeless on the streets of Newark, shattering her dreams of school dances, pink nail polish, and a diploma.
Eight years later, a burn victim with amnesia wanders into Jersey’s barely-existent life. She resists his efforts to form a friendship until he reveals knowledge of the person responsible for derailing her future. Through their unusual friendship, she discovers a way to avenge the deaths of her foster parents.
All she has to do is destroy the world’s biggest rock star.
In the ultimate game of sex, lies, and manipulation, can Jersey discover the truth? Or will she be blinded by attraction, deceived by love, and destroyed by her past?
My take on this book:
This was one of those books that sometimes makes me wish I listened to audiobooks. I did not want to put it down at all. It seriously messed with my mind in a awesome way. It twisted so many times that I had no idea where ir was going. This is a definite Do Not Miss book.
Till the next book ~ Nancy
I first came across Jewel E Ann’s books back in 2014/2015 and knew then that I had happened across something very special. And with every single book that view builds and is reinforced. Each book leaves me blinking, trying to make the transition back to my real world; each and every book! Her characters are there, right on front of me, clothed in flesh and vibrating with life. Jersey and Ian. My God!
This is a rich, intense, twisty, unpredictable, deeply emotional and utterly readable book. It sits firmly in unputdownable category and will reward any reader who picks it up.
That’s it. Buy this. Read this. Go and drink gin and think about it. That’s what I am going to do….
“Maybe good people could do bad things without being truly terrible.”
Jersey Six by Jewel E Ann is a standalone romantic suspense about a rockstar and an orphan seeking revenge. Let me first just say, HOLY SHIT! This book is unlike ANYTHING I have ever read from Jewel E. Ann, and I’ve read quite a lot of her work! This book completely floored me, and the twist… OMG! This is not your typical rockstar romance AT ALL!
Jersey Six was just a baby dropped off on the doorstep of a New Jersey fire station. She spent her whole life enduring so much abuse from the ones who were supposed to be caring for her. When Jersey was 15 years old she was placed with Dena and Charles Russell. She spends 6 months in their care. The best 6 months of her entire life. Jersey grew up not being able to count on anyone, the only people she’s ever felt truly cared for by was Dena & Charles, and a girl she only knew as “G” that she formed a bond with out of circumstance in one of the worst homes she was ever in.
But when Dena and Charles Russell are killed in a hit-and-run, instead of taking the chance and getting stuck in another abusive home, Jersey runs.
“Be brave and run fast.”
Eight years later, at 24 years old Jersey is living in the back of Marley’s boxing gym where she trains when a man with horrible burns all over his face and body comes in looking for a place to get out of the cold for the night. Jersey tries to deny him but when the man, Chris, who has amnesia and is only getting pieces of his memory back sporadically remembers that it was his friend who killed the Russell’s, Jersey is dead set on finally getting her revenge. Now to just help Chris remember who that friend is.
A month later, Chris still hasn’t remembered anything else about his life but Jersey and Chris have developed a friendship, sharing the measly possessions that they have.
But everything changes at a hotdog stand in Newark right down the street from Marleys. After dropping the change that Jersey had scrounged up, a stranger pays for her lunch. But then that stranger follows her back to Marley’s and offers her a job.
“Jersey Six… I’m going to show you the world.”
Life changes drastically for Chris and Jersey when they find out that this stranger is Ian freaking Cooper, a big rockstar who they are now working on the road touring with.
Ian is different with Jersey right away, instead of her on the bus with the rest of the crew, she travels with Ian. For some reason, Ian wants the mouthy girl around. And more and more, Jersey wants to be around him too.
“They were the perfect kind of wrong.”
But when Chris tells Jersey that Ian is the friend who killed the Russel’s, she can’t believe it. How can she feel such a connection with Ian if what Chris is saying is true? But then, why is Ian so secretive about his past?
Jersey starts thinking that just maybe Chris is right.
Is it possible that Ian is the man she’s after?
OMG, what an incredibly moving story. Just when I thought I had everything figured out BAM another twist that I NEVER saw coming! Absolutely incredible story, and extraordinary writing. Sheesh, I have laughed, cried, yelled, and then cried some more I was COMPLETELY invested in this story and these characters, you can’t help but fall in love with a piece of each and every one of them even though they are “terrible people”.
“I am nothing… “she whispered.”… insignificant… forgettable… no one would miss me if I died. No one would look for me if I were lost. No human has ever cried for me.” “I am unloved.”
Jersey, she makes it hard to like her but that’s the point, isn’t it? If no one gets close enough they can’t hurt you. She’s tough, her mouth has ZERO filter, and she’ll kick your ass if you cross her. The life she’s been forced to lead has hardened her beyond measure. But for some reason the connection she feels towards Ian makes her feel like a girl with her first crush, which is definitely unlike Jersey.
“Wish me luck, Jersey.” “Luck, Coop.”
Ian, the mysterious rockstar. God, he is seriously the sweetest everrr! I mean what rockstar takes in two homeless people?! Apparently, Ian freakin Cooper does! He was so patient with Jersey, even when she kicked his ass he still kept her around, and actually WANTED her around. Nothing he did was out of pity but… UGH, I can’t even say anymore. This book you guys!
Chris is also a huge part of this story, the relationship between him and Jersey, they depended on each other and sought comfort from the other when they needed it the most… their relationship begins changing when they meet Ian and my feelings for Chris changed as well. But, all in all, I feel sorry for him, I don’t hate him I just hated that even when Jersey was questioning what she should do next he kept pushing her. Their relationship went from one of care and comfort to toxic.
Seriously when I say this is a one sitting book, I don’t mean it’s short because it’s most definitely a full-length novel, I mean a one sitting book because you will NOT want to put this one down! No seriously you guys, dinner was late and I STILL had a load of laundry to fold lol, I was hooked from the very first chapter.
Absolutely incredible writing, with every release Jewel, blows me away time after time. I already know going in that I’m going to love it but the way Jewel is able to write pretty much ANY genre, and write them WELL, blows my mind every. single. time.
I’m not going to lie, I have SOO many highlights throughout this book and I wanted to add SOO much to this review but I’m determined not to leak any spoilers but man was it hard, the writing and the dialogue… GAHHH I can’t even explain it, you NEED to read this one for yourself!
There are a couple of triggers but in my opinion, it was all very tastefully done. Jersey Six is far from an “easy” read but it is so worth the tears. I would give soo many more then 5 stars if I could, I highly recommend and I will be moving Jersey Six up on my top reads of 2019 list!
“Bunnies still hop with one ear.”
I voluntarily reviewed an advance complimentary copy of this book.
A brilliant masterpiece of heartbreak, tragedy, romance and mystery! I couldn’t put it down! About half way through I almost flipped to the ending (yes, I’m one of those) because I couldn’t stand the suspense of the unknowns to the mystery even when an unconventional romance was blooming to distract me. But I didn’t and it wouldn’t have really helped because there was more than one heart-stopping twist and they weren’t all revealed at the same time. This is quite the story between Jersey and Coop and throw in sad, confused Chris as Jersey’s sidekick and, well, this is a threesome unlike anything I’ve ever read. It’s hard to know the lines between love, hate, revenge, and jealousy. This story had all in varying degrees. I love this author’s fabulous heroines that are a little off center and truly unique. Jersey’s story is so heartbreaking but she’s not completely broken. Such a strong, fierce heroine with an indomitably that is outstanding. And who doesn’t love a hunky rock star even if he has a few dark secrets? The intrigue was killer, the romance was swoon worthy and sexy, the loves were wonderful on so many different levels, and the hate was deserving. I have so much love for this author’s beautiful writing, fabulous characters and spectacular storytelling. Simply outstanding! Beautiful cover, too. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC.
4.5 Stars
Jersey Six is the all new fantastic stand-alone novel by Jewel E Ann. Holy WOW this book blew me away! It is so different from Ms. Ann’s normal style. It is raw, gritty, and soooo real. Jersey Six is full of tragedy, lies, and revenge. It takes you through twists and turns and on a journey that you’ll never forget.
I’m going to show you the world…but he destroyed your world.
There’s always tomorrow…but tomorrow comes at a price of the past.
A chance to right wrongs…But you can’t undo certain wrongs.
Chasing the truth…but the truth could be a lie.
I don’t belong to you…but you belong with me.
When a famous Rockstar meets a homeless girl he invites her to join his tour offering her a world of possibilities. Finding out what’s on the other side of the line.
In all seriousness I love how Jewel manages to squeezed in a few good laughs. Jewel’s sense of humor never ceases to amaze me. The humor is effortless on her part.
Overall:
What you as a reader can expect from Jewel. Obviously, you’ll get the unexpected twists and turns with laughter, tears, and excitement. Each book Jewel produces is unique with a touch of her personality in each one.
The masterful way she crafts her characters begging you to reach for more. With each page you turn you’ll wait patiently for each character to unfold backstory like no other. Everyone of her characters has an untold story quite unique to the name given to them. Jewel kept me entertained, enthralled, and on the balls on my feet. Her characters behave in impulsive unexpected ways adding shock value and intrigue. I like how Ian’s career choice doesn’t define him nor the fact that Jersey is a homeless person. They see into each other’s eyes the depth of who they are from the top of the scale down to the very bottom.
To answer your question Jersey: Ian did that for you because Jewel chose to write the scene that way. Wow! What must go on in your mind Jewel? The types of questions you address are concerns that for a fleeting moment I might ponder this same thought process, but rarely will I remember this thought provoking question to warrant it a genuine answer. Jewel you surprise me with your wit. I always say I want to meet you to pick your brain. I don’t need to meet you to know you. I get to know you through your characters. Each one of these characters has a piece of you in them.
Even though Ian was a rockstar Jewel made sure that his career didn’t take precedence over the purpose of this story which was to dig out the truth that was buried in the past. His lifestyle was relevant to the needs of Jersey.
JERSEY SIX is an emotional, unique, intense romantic suspense novel by Jewel E. Ann.
Jersey Six is unbelievably raw and gritty. This is a story full of anger, angst, drama, passion, heat, secrets, intrigue, deception, lies, PTSD, amnesia, harsh truths, deep feelings, huge feels, and love that will blow you away.
The relationship that develops between Jersey and Chris is one of dependence. Then Ian blows into their lives and things change completely- for good. Ian and Jersey’s relationship is complex and intense. This book will take you on an emotional journey that will push you to the edge , break you and piece you back together. JEA writes such a beautiful and fiery story that shows dark and twisty with a rocker whodunnit twist. Dont walk but run to read this.
My Rating: 4.5 stars *******
I went into this book blind. I knew I wanted to read it because I love everything this author writes. I really wasn’t expecting how gritty and suspenseful this book would be. The story begins with an amnesiac burn victim. He has no clue who he is until he comes across a gym. At the gym he realizes he has been there before and his name is Chris, but not much else. He befriends a tough girl by the name of Jersey. Jersey was abandoned as a baby and grew up in the foster system. This poor girl led a really rough life, I felt awful for her. The two of them form a bond and stick together. One day Jersey meets a man who unbeknownst to her, is a famous rockstar. The rockstar turns out to be, Ian. Ian is so sweet and caring with Jersey. I loved him even when Jersey questioned who he really was. Chris convinced Jersey that Ian was the reason her only good foster family died. So together they plotted their revenge against him when he was nothing but nice to them. This story was everything. I was so into it that I hated to stop and take care of my responsibilities. It is full of twists and turns, suspense, action, sexy times, and even some emotional times. I would give this book ten stars if could. I think everyone who picks it up will enjoy it.
Incredible story.
I was completely enthralled and fascinated by this twisted suspenseful read.
Nothing is ever what it seems.
Secrets, betrayals and unknowns anew exceptionally portrayed in this thrilling story.
The build up, the development of the characters had me thinking they were one way only to discover something else!
Flawlessly written the characters came to life and gave us their story.
Jersey is a phenomenal character. A survivor, a warrior princess, this Jersey girl is fighting the fight of her life to get answers.
What she discovers brings her to her knees.
Be careful what you ask for as this twisted mystery unfolded!
I couldn’t read fast enough to discover what happens.
Oh my goodness…
A must read!
Jersey Six A beautiful rock star crosses paths with a rough-around-the-edges homeless girl at a hot dog stand, and neither of their lives will ever be the same. Jersey Six is not a light and fluffy, “Pretty Woman” type of romance. You know, the kind of story where an ordinary woman meets a rock star that sweeps her off her feet. Ian wants to show Jersey the world, but Jersey and her friend Chris have other plans for the generous rock star. This bitter-twisted romantic suspense is equally addictive and unputdownable.
Jewel did an incredible job spinning a complex and darkly disturbing web of love, secrets, and revenge. Jersey Six is going to leave your head spinning! I loved this book!
This isn’t a “bed of roses, bucket of hearts” story. The rawness of it all, the grit, the out-of-whack emotions.
The plot is intriguing, it keeps you going as you clamour to find out more. Everyone seems to have secrets, the mysteriousness drives the story. I don’t know if many of us could have survived Jersey’s heartbreaking life experiences. They shaped many of her decisions, wariness, and survival instincts, until Ian unwittingly broke down some of her walls.
The underlying tension held a tight grip on my reaction until the end. Gritty, entertaining, moving.
Once again Jewel takes us on that fantastical trip only her mind and her words can. Jewel has an unique way with her words. She’s able to make you fall in love, tear your heart out, put it back together, cuss out loud, laugh out loud, cry many tears, and at the end, say “when’s the next book coming?”. Then you have to hope you’re over the book hangover from the book you just read.
*I am unloved…*
*4,5 stars*
It was my first read from this author and it definitely won’t be my last one. It was a story I didn’t expect and a rollercoaster that just took you everywhere! A gritty read that will leave you wondering throughout reading this story ‘cuz some things I just never saw coming and it left me guessing until the end…
Jersey has been in so many foster homes and has been through a lot in her life. She has a roof over her head but that’s it. The only family she ever truly cared about, was run over by someone who left them for dead. But one day, she’ll have the revenge she desperately seeks and needs. When she first meets Chris, there’s something about him that draws them together but when there’s an unknown man giving her and Chris a new life, maybe they’ll get a new chance at a life they didn’t even know they wanted. But there’s so much more underneath and even though Ian was that generous man that gave her a new hope, secrets will come out and she’ll have to make a choice. But will it be enough to satisfy a deep rooten hunger inside her and still her desperate claim she’s held on for so many years. Will Ian be the one to give her something more, something she never thought was possible? Or will it all be the end?…
This is Jersey Six written by Jewel E Ann. This one is so different from her normal books. It’s very dark and gritty. Jersey has lived a very hard life and has become self sufficient and hard. When Ian meets her, he decides to help her and her friend Chris. Just fair warning….it gets worse before it gets better! Jewel E Anne has become very popular for writing the kind of story that grabs you by the heart and forces you to trip through the “feels”….this book?? It will stay with you long afterwards! I had to read it again to be sure that I caught everything!! What a story!!
Holy hell. I just don’t even know what to say or where to go with this one. Once again Jewel has blown me away, with another mind-bending, spell-binding story. Jersey Six gave me Scarlett Stone and End of Day vibes, and I was completely enthralled.
This book, like pretty much all JEA’s books honestly, is probably best gone into blind. The blurb gives you a hint of what’s to come, but you have no idea what you are in for, no idea. Just know you’ll be going on a journey unlike any other.
I think I may just leave it at that.
WOW! I mean, just WOW! This book was so freaking good! My emotions are all over the place after reading this! Jewel E. Ann created an intense world that will hold you captive. This book has angst, suspense, romance…my word it has it all! Once you dive into this story you will not be able to stop. I can’t truly express how great and creative this story is. I am already recommending this book to my friends and anyone who will listen!
