I’m so sad to see this series end since its such a great series with characters that I have grown to love.
Jeremy is the final book and his story starts off heartbreaking as in Tuckers book we see him lose the one he loved. Still reeling and now essentially shutting himself off from the world. He’s moody and angry at everyone. Enter Melissa who’s moved in next door and these two clash and clash again. Jeremy’s somewhat rude and abrasive at times I wanted to slap him.
Melissa though didn’t take any crap from him and I loved her for that. She’s got her own demons and has only just found the freedom. What happens next with these two is beautiful, yet shocking as their pasts seem to collide in a way you don’t expect it to. It’s heartwarming and heartbreaking and there are some intense and suspenseful moments. There are also some light hearted moments and we do get to see everyone from the previous books.
A great ending to a fantastic series.
This was definitely another amazing work by SM Shade. There is just so much emotions that you are taken through with Jeremy and Melissa’s story.
Jeremy is suffering from the loss of his love Frannie, and Melissa is trying to get her life back together from years of being lost. Each are needing someone that can help them, but both are too head strong to see what is right in front of them. And when a miscommunication has Jeremy opening his eyes and even his heart again, both of their lives are changed forever.
Both have their stories that they are not ready to share, but when the time comes their stories help build a stronger relationship.
I’m sad to see the end of the In Safe Hands series, but at least i can say that just like with Alex from the Striking Back series, Shade saved the best for last.

I thoroughly enjoyed this final installment of the ‘In Safe Hands’ series!!
After Frannie was gunned down during an act of Domestic Terrorism carried out by a Cult, Jeremy has retreated to his family’s home on a lake. He’s in a deep depression & drinking a lot but digging into the Cult is keeping him going, for now!!
After escaping an awful situation, a once rather famous prodigy in the Art World, Melissa needs to rebuild her life from scratch, first she needs to access her money again!! After meeting a wonderful older lady, Agnes, Mel starts to put her life back together & buys a house on a lake. She is now Jeremy’s next door neighbour!!
After some awful interactions Mel & Jeremy end up naked in bed together. This is after two of his best friends arrive for a visit, they invite her over & alcohol gets involved!! Things between them then spiral rapidly down hill from there, until Agnes steps in and informs Jeremy of his ‘growing’ responsibilities
During all of this Jeremy is still attempting to come to terms with his loss and to finding ways to deal the Cult that killed Frannie & 21 others
This is a captivating read. It shows Jeremy at his lowest & worst & Melissa at her weakest & strongest, she has a lot to navigate. This is a book that tugs at your heart strings, it restores your faith in mankind & in unconditional love. ‘Jeremy’ is a worthy ending to this fantastic series!!!

Up to this book, Justus has been my favorite, Justus is still my favorite character because he brings humor into tense situations, but this story has become my favorite. The character of Jeremy starts out pretty much were he left off at when the last book ended. I think this character has the most development. For me, this book also brings out the most emotions. I am glad that the group was group to a conclusion with this last book, it ties everything up nicely.
I loved Jeremy and Melissa’s story. If you have read the other books you know why Jeremy is the way he is. Mean, drunk, rude. But you also know the other side of him.
Melissa is a new character in this series. One you find out her story, your heart will break for her.
Jeremy and Melissa have a rocky start. But the pieces start to fall in line.
But their pasts connect in a way they could have never imagined.
Will this tear them apart or bring them closer together? Gotta read to find out.
This is the fifth in the series but can be a stand alone. Wow we get Jeremy’s story and omg I totally teared up with his story he gets a neighbor Melissa they both have a past when a huge secret comes out will that keep them together? I loved reading this book!!! I loved the chemistry between Jeremy & Melissa!
Jeremy and Melissa
I absolutely love this series . This is the final book and I am sorry to see this come to an end . They are such strong characters, you know quickly that Mel has been through so much and Jeremy has so many of his own demons to conquer . You see them become more powerful , heal and surround themselves with such a fabulous cast ! So Good !!

It was hard not to swoon over Jeremy. Once the story opened to who he was, what he had gone through, and what he had done to help others, he became practically the perfect man. Melissa was a strong woman who had gone through so much, but made a perfect match for Jeremy. She called him on his stuff, but wasn’t afraid to accept help. This book had me from beginning to end. I need to read the rest of the series.
Another Amazing Book by S. M. Shade!!! I absolutely love this series and was super excited to read this next book in it! My heart went out for everything that Melissa goes through in her life, and the heart break and loss that Jeremy is dealing with. I loved that they find each other and through everything they are able to get through tough times and find happy ones together. I was super sad to finish this book because I wanted it to just keep going and going. This is just one series I absolutely love!!
It seems like forever that I’ve been waiting to read Jeremy’s story. I was completely gutted at the end Tucker’s story and need to know what happened to Jeremy. I loved that he found Mel and then so much more with her. The baby part just gave me all the feels. I can totally relate to their situation there. I’m just happy that everyone get their HEA. This was a great series and I highly recommend it.
To say I am gutted that this series has finished is an understatement. I so hope that SM Shade writes a new series that feature the Striking Back and the In Safe Hands guys too. A life without Justuce is devastating.
This is Jeremy’s story and one that is full of heartache, forgiveness and understanding.
Jeremy moves to a cabin by the lake after the death of Frannie. Unable to get over the grief and the blame he has put on himself for not saving her.
Melissa has now got an obnoxious drunk living next door. He is rude and she cant stand him. However all that changes due to one night and a misunderstanding.
Once the secrets are out though will what they build survive? Can either one of them continue with knowing the truth?
It was great seeing the gang together again. it shows that you don’t have to be blood to be a family. A family can be one you choose to be in. Not one that is chosen for you. The banter is still there and I am so going to miss them. I just wish there had been a little more in the book about the Striking Back guys. I would have loved to have seen a bit of Mason, Sawyer and Alex.
Please bring me something soon SM. Shade
I love the men of In Safe Hands. It is one of my favorite series and I’m sad to see it end. Jeremy is the final book, and it is fantastic. Jeremy and Melissa are both tumbling through the upheavals life throws at them.
Jeremy is devastated after Frannie is tragically taken from the world. Now he’s on the road to revenge. Determined to take down the terrorist organization that killed her.
Melissa is running away from her past. Gaining her freedom and her life back, from the same organization that Jeremy is determined to take down.
Together, Jeremy and Melissa are a great couple. I love that they aren’t instantly doey eyed for each other. They learn to live their new lives together, even when they don’t want to, and its adorable.
I love how the story takes shape. The writing is fantastic. The twists and turns are executed perfectly. And of course I love seeing all the ISH men and their ladies come together. Jeremy was a fantastic way to end the series.
This is the fifth and final book in the In Safe Hands Series and what a brilliant way to end. I seriously recommend this series if you love hot AF men who will make you laugh and swoon practically at the same time whilst making you feel safe and protected.
This book picks up after the last book and we have a heartbroken Jeremy. The girl he loved was shot in a mass shooting and he is on a rampage to shut himself off from the world, drink and ultimately seek the revenge he thinks he needs.
Melissa is his sexy neighbour who is finally living her life after escaping a cult. Her strength is growing from day to day. I absolutely loved how she stood up to Jeremy when he was at his asshole best. She’s such a beautifully forgiving person and I loved her interactions with the ISH boys, especially Justus, oh how that boy make me laugh and swoon at the same time.
I couldn’t put this book down once i started it on a sunny sunday afternoon in my garden and devoured it super quick. S.M Shade has brought me the perfect tale filled with suspense, humour, raw emotion, sweet moments mixed with some hot chemistry that bubbles along the surface.
I am sad to see this series end
