Another Fun Installment
I have read all but Book 2 of this series, and I find it such a delight! You can tell that the author really knows her stuff about swing dancing. This is a super short book, somewhere between a short story and a novella, and the author does a great job of keeping it tightly focused on the heroine, swing dancing, and her choice between two men. This is a fun and sometimes funny book; the title is really apt, too (and definitely humorous after you read the story). You need not read other books in the series to appreciate the romance and the humor in this one. It’s kind of funny, but before this year, I hadn’t read any Australian or New Zealander authors. But thanks to Booksprout, my favorite book review site, I have enjoyed books by several southern hemisphere authors, including this one, Mel A. Rowe, Kate O’Keeffe, and others. Like the others in this series, this book definitely oozed all things Australian in the descriptions, vocabulary, and dialogue phrasing, making the read a little armchair travel as well. This entire series is a lot of fun, and I recommend it as well as this particular super quick read.
I received a free copy of this book, but that did not affect my review.
Karen’s friend Tracy finally gets her to go to a swing class. She has a great time, and meets Ben. And Lowan. She’s interested in both of them, but thinks that Tracy likes Lowan. Who does she like better? Who does she want to ask out? This is a cute continuation of this quite enjoyable series, and some of the old characters make an appearance. Karen has much better chemistry with one of these guys (no spoilers). This is short and sweet, and easy to read at lunchtime.

Dragged here after repeated invitations by her good friend, Tracy, Karen is taking her first swing dance lesson, trying not to kick anyone or make a mess of things. Lowan is her second partner, and it took quite a few tries before they finally got in synch with their steps – only to find they were not in time with the music! But by then, they were both smiling and feeling successful until Karen collided with a pool table! Lowan gallantly switched positions with her, then collided with the same pool table, just as she had! Unable to hold back her giggle, they decided they both needed more practice. Her final partner in the lesson was an older man, but he was a wonderful dancer and she had a good time.
She loves the dancing and the music and was grateful that Tracy hadn’t stopped pestering her to take the lessons. Sarah danced with Karen in the Jam Circle, then passed her hand to Ben, whom Karen had been admiring from her table earlier. He was a good dancer and promised to dance with her the next week if she came back. Now all she needs is to find the courage to ask one of her two favorite partners out on a date!
This was such a good book, the author’s style of writing quickly pulling the reader into the story. The story line moves at a steady pace that keeps all eyes on what the characters are doing. The descriptions of both characters and their environment make it all real and exciting. Grab your copy and see how things turn out for Karen, both on and off the dance floor!
Karen takes her first swing dance lesson after being pestered by a co-worker. She loves the dancing. Soon she has two potential partners. Can love be found on the dance floor?
This is a short, sweet contemporary romance that is set around dancing. The main character is well developed, indecisive and likeable. She draws you into her story and you want to see if she can connect with someone. The interplay between the characters was great and the romance was sweet. I liked the setting, the characters and the writing style. I look forward to reading more books about dancing.

K I enjoyed reading this book from beginning to end. It was a great having characters that are well developed and engaging and have plenty of chemistry. The flow of the storyline was steady and smooth.
This is a fun and enjoyable series. This is book 4 in the Got That Swing Series but can be read as a stand alone book. It’s a short and sweet read so no worries that it will take too much of your time. The story line is definitely entertaining and fun to read.

Latest story from the “Got That Swing” series, it introduces Lowan and Karen but we also see some characters present in the previous book (Sarah and Ben). I cannot wait for “Ain’t Misbehavin” (but really sad to learn it will be the last book in the series).
