I loved this book so much. Leah and Ryan’s story captured my attention and my heart. Drama, steam, intense emotions, angst, passion and romance are blended beautifuly into story line that will keep you fully engaged and invested in this couple. Leah made my heart ache. She had been through so much. If anyone deserves happiness and true love it was her. Ryan is the type of hero that falls under the love to hate heading. His anger and need for vengence make him do and say some very unlikable things at the beginning of this couples journey. He will redeem himself beautifully though and in the end be a truly swoon worthy hero. In spite of the history between these two there is no denying their attraction and their chemistry. An excellent read that delivers all the heat and heart you could ever want.
Leah Brandeis lived next door to Ryan Jedson her whole life. She always had a huge crush on him growing up but she was just a shy girl with a messed up mother. Why would he ever notice her? When he left town, she never thought she would see him again, until 6 years later when he walks into, The Dirty Cactus, the bar she is managing. Ryan always cared for Leah, thinking she was good until one incident sent him running. He is home now though and plans to get his life back, including getting the truth from Leah about why he had to leave so suddenly. They both grew up in troubled situations. Can he put his plan in motion and find out the truth or will the truth not be what he was expecting? A heartbreaking and touching enemies to lovers romance. You truly are rooting for these characters. This is the second book in the Ruins of Emblem series. Told in dual POV
The second book in The Ruins of Emblem series and I’m already craving more. Cora always creates fascinating compelling stories/series that are unputdownable.
Her characters are always intriguing sometimes flawed with harrowing pasts but they are unforgettable whatever their backgrounds.
Ryan and Leahs story is definitely an emotional rollercoaster they do not have an easy time, starting out as friends then becoming enemies.
As a young girl Leah had an obsession with Ryan. He didn’t see her that way, she was just to young.
Then a cruel twist of fate sees Ryan having to leave Emblem, only to return years later with one thing on his mind…Revenge.
There’s so much history between Leah and Ryan, secrets and lies, betrayal and uncertainty. But they also have undeniable raw passion that can’t be ignored.
The truth could set them free and maybe give them the second chance they deserve.
I seriously loved these two. All the chemistry, angst and lies had me on the edge of my seat. The pace of the story flowed really well and I loved every heart pounding minute.
I’m ready to be Ruined by Emblem again in the next book. I can’t wait.
This is turning into another fantastic series from Cora and a must read.
