The long awaited follow up to the New York Times Bestselling Trilogy Monsters in the Dark. “Life taught me an eternal love will demand the worst sacrifices. A transcendent love will split your soul, cleaving you into pieces. A love this strong doesn’t grant you sweetness–it grants you pain. And life finally left us in peace.
A man like my maître has special needs though, growing stronger as our lives intertwine. The only way to survive his monster is to agree to all his desires.
Including his latest wish.

I loved reading Je Suis à Toi. What a perfect story to close the Monsters in the Dark series.
I enjoyed advancing a few years on from Tess and Q’s wedding to see what was happening with the pair. I can’t deny that my favourite scenes in the book happen at the castle, they were so lovely to witness. Regrettably, I haven’t read Pepper Winters’ books in the order that they were released so I already knew the outcome and wasn’t surprised to discover what Q wanted in this instalment. If you are new to this author’s work, I would recommend that you work through her various series in publication date, as her characters do make cameo appearances. That way, you can experience and discover the storylines as the author intended.
This story highlighted and reminded me that Tess and Q are perfect for each other. I absolutely love where their lives are right now – I couldn’t be happier for the couple. It isn’t always plain sailing for them though, but I am hoping that they will always find a way to communicate and work through any obstacles together…. I suspect they will! I would absolutely love to read Suzette and Franco’s story and if it hasn’t already been written (I will be checking), then I hope that Ms. Winters will consider doing so one day.
4.5 stars.
This was the perfect ending to Tess and Q’s story! I’ve read this series before but didn’t realize this book was even out so this was my first time and boy was I missing out! I was so happy to read it!
A series that has gripped me emotionally and one that I’ll never forget reading! A novel where we get to see a different side to Q and Tess and how they are handling a ‘normal’ life as a married couple! It’s still not for the faint hearted but a story that again will leaven an imprint on you like the other books in the series!
What can I add to an already amazing dark and twisted story? If you’ve read the previous three books then you’ll know the kind of brilliance and captivating stories that Pepper writes.
This book starts three years after Q and Tess have married. Q is still rescuing and rehabilitating trafficked woman sold into slavery; but something is troubling him. He is keeping secrets. I pretty much worked out what it was early on. Pepper is very at dropping subtle hints and clues that keep you not only guessing but the pages turning.
Again told from a dual POV; the book is action packed as Tess and Q come to blows over Q’s secrets. The power between the two is intense; sex is hot and dynamic and Q’s possessive, protective streak is out in force. I love these two characters passionately. This is one series that will stay with me.
I’m just going to jump right to it and tell you that I ABSOLUTELY LOVED this book. Monsters in the Dark was my first dark read and I fell in love with both Q and Tess. So naturally, I about died when I saw that we were getting more of them. As soon as I started reading Je Suis á toi I was emerged right back into the deliciously dark world that Q and Tess live in and I felt like no time has passed since I was first introduced to them.
This book should not be read as a standalone. Trust me when I tell you that you want to experience their story from the beginning.
Tess and Q have settled into a blissful state with each other until recently. Tess has noticed that something is bothering Q and she knows that she’s the only one that fully understands him and allows him to be himself. So in a quest to figure out what has been bothering him, she plans a getaway with their friends for his birthday. Her ultimate goal is to find out what he has been hiding from her and help him chase away whatever demons have started to surface.
Q has always had some major insecurities. Especially when it comes to embracing his monster. Tess has allowed him to be fully free and loves and accepts this part of him. However, when life and love make him change his mind on certain situations, those insecurities set back in. He is struggling with the balance of what he wants and what he thinks he can’t have.
I honestly don’t want to give anything away. You need to experience it on your own. I will say that I had a feeling I knew what Q was keeping from Tess and it turned out that I was right. Along with Q’s insecurities and his undying love for Tess, we get to see a bit more from him that we’ve all be waiting for.
Their love is just pure beauty and darkness wrapped together.
“To the outside world, Q was dangerous, malignant, and someone not to piss off. In our inner sanctum, Q was my protector, prince, and lover all in one.”
I could seriously gush about Q and Tess for a long time. This book was a perfect addition to their story. It gave us a little bit of them that we already knew and loved and it added more. I can’t express how much I loved it. If you haven’t met them, go pick up Monsters In the Dark and get to it. If you have, I’m not sure what you are waiting on for this. GO GET IT!
