Ho! Ho! Ho-ly shit! I’ve really screwed things up this time. Now it’s gonna take a Christmas miracle to convince my wife to forgive me. This is the part of happily ever after that no one ever told you about, when real life turns Prince Charming into a giant Grinch. No matter what it takes, I won’t stop fighting for my family until we get back to where we belong. This is a novella that should be … to where we belong.
This is a novella that should be read after the novels in the Cocky Cage Fighter series.more
We’re really starting after Jax & Page have had their Son Xavier & Jax has given up fighting & he’s not REALLY coping very well with it especially after loosing his last professional fight against his youngest brother Jude.
Page has now gone on to item her own law company to be the lawyer for Professional Sport Players.
But it’s the final straw for Page when Jax hits her newest Contract during her ‘party’ for her clients & they’re not being able to open up to each other.
It’s so moving & they both need a little push & honesty to each other.
And we have a great EPILOGUE as Xavier & their daughter are in their late teens early 20’s
Jax is Fighting for a Christmas Miracle
“Jax: A Christmas Story” is a holiday tale that allows us to catch up with the Havoc crew from Lane Hart’s Cocky Cage Fighters MMA romance series. It features the original couple from Book 1, and it takes place several years into the future. Jax may be retired from the cage, but he is every bit as growly, sexy, and aggressive as he was at his prime. Trading the limelight for playground time with his toddler has been a difficult adjustment, and Page’s new career doing contracts for young professional athletes adds a bit of strain to their relationship. This one is less about the steamy chemistry (although, of course, there’s that as well) and more about redefining themselves as individuals and as a couple, and my series-obsessed self loved every minute of it. I truly cannot wait to see Lane Hart continue the second generation of books because I am invested in the Havoc family!

Jax: A Christmas Story was a novella within the Cocky Cage Fighter series by Lane Hart. I read this one out of order since I had already read Jax and Page’s initial story, but it was intended to be read as the conclusion to the series.
The storyline took place four years after Jax, book one. And quite a bit had happened since then so it was interesting to immediately read about their troubles. And I was surprised at how I wasn’t a fan of Page. She reminded me of when she first met Jax when she was judgmental and unrelenting. I was never a fan of that Page – and this novella was no exception. Unfortunately, I really hated her in most of this novella.
With that said, the author hit on two important issues – finding self worth after retirement and anger management. Two very real and very difficult subjects. But thankfully, in the end, the author brought us full circle and it was a good quick read. And as a bonus, Hart included an epilogue nineteen years into the future and we were provided with an enticing teaser into Jax and Page’s legacy. Can you say Second Generation spinoff…?
It’s not often you get to visit a couple whose story you read before to see what their lives are like. There are two time periods covered in this book that I won’t spoil for you, but this book carries on after Jax retires from MMA fighting and Page is running her own sports contract law firm.
Xavier was being born at the end of JAX. In JAX: A CHRISTMAS STORY, Xavier is four. Unfortunately, the story starts with trouble in paradise between Jax and Page. There are secrets, misunderstandings, jealousy, longing, distrust, and steamy piles of what not. Enjoy this short novella for its holiday flavor and it’s visit with one of our favorite MMA families, the Malones.
