What’s the deal with a mob princess like myself and a gorgeous alien warrior like Jave?Well…it’s complicated. At first he was just Mr. Right Now.But I’ve got this feeling he COULD be my Mr. Right…If you can get past the fact that he’s an alien. And a shapeshifter. And part of the Alliance military. And likely to want to put some or all of my family in prison. But he’s also a genuinely decent man.… in prison.
But he’s also a genuinely decent man.
That’s as rare as anything in this galaxy.
But I am who I am.
The insurmountable obstacle here is the fact that he’s on the side of law and order, and I’m the heir to a criminal empire.
It doesn’t help matters at all that he rocked my world in a way I’ll never forget…
And…a repeat performance could probably put that one to shame…
8 feet tall. 10 pack abs. Over 400 pounds of muscle….
In fact, you know what? Screw this…
I need to go see him.
Mr. Right Now just became Mr. Right Right Now.
So yeah, it’s complicated.
Jave is the fifth book within the Marauder Mates series set in the Athenaverse. It can be read as a standalone, but it shares the same universe that you’ve found in other books. This book features a romance of an alpha male alien warrior, a smart, sassy human woman. Expect to see characters you’ve come to love pop in during the story. No cheating and HEA guaranteed!

Love the continuation of this series. The attraction between Jave and Cyrl is unusual since Jave works for law and order and Cyrl’s family are criminals. As usual danger plays a big part in this story and involves a transporter device that the criminals are trying to keep and Jave and his team are trying to recover. The banter between Jave and his team is hilarious at times and comical. The danger turns deadly but the team survives and Jave and Cyrl admit to the love they feel for each other. This is a great read and I would recommend it along with the other books in this series.
Everything that can go wrong does go wrong. I think of all the Marauders’ Mates I might love Jave the most. I love that Cyrl ( a gangster’s foster daughter/hostage) who dreams of freedom and Jave(an outcast sidekick of the Penetrators) who wants a mission to prove himself, just seem to be the missing halves of a whole and fall in love, even though it seems like every part of this mission seems to fall apart or stumble into disaster. Loved it. Gotta read it!!

Find the machine
The beginning of this book it is difficult to understand, with the overload of information you are given. The story line was a good idea. There is a lighthearted side in this book. I would recommend the book.
I just adore these Penetrators! Jave and Cyrl are an awesome couple, and stranding them on a planet with some seriously deadly creatures made for a wonderful story! These two truly work and play well together. And they all actually completed their mission, sort of. I am eager to read more! Great read!

The Penetrators take on a mission that require Jave to use the one trait about himself he is ashamed of and has hidden from even his closest friend, but he does so without hesitation. I’ve personally never been a big fan of the shifter trope, but I did like that this book did something a bit different with it and presented it in a way that was more feasible and had something approaching the hint of a physiological explanation (obviously there is an element of fiction that requires suspension of disbelief, but it’s sci-fi, and we like a bit of science with the fiction.)
Even with this sub-plot, these is a strong tie to the overall series theme of showing all sides of a story and finding the sympathetic characters even among “the bad guys.” This holds true even for the mobsters in this story, or at least, Cyrl’s “uncle” Ruk. Ruk isn’t someone who could easily be called a good person; even outside the realm of “the business” has some cruelty in him and no shortage of greed (and like the other mobsters of the series, is a little too cartoonish with the film-mobster vibe 😉 . But he is not without a heart. Even while we’re hating him for putting beloved characters at risk of death, he makes efforts to include his ward (hostage child from another mob family, meant to keep them all in line), treats her kindly, and indulges her to excess; And while we read things from her perspective, we can’t help but want him to escape relatively unscathed.

I liked this book because it adds yet another character to the crew of the Penetrator. We get a chance to get to know Jave and his history as well as met Cyrl who is more of a bad
azz than even she knew. It is always a hilarious, bumpy ride whenever this crew takes on a new assignment. Nothing ever goes as planned and they pretty much continue to escape by the skin of their pants. But it is such fun! Of course all the males are sex fiends and I just want to know where I can hitch a ride on the ship?

This is the 5th in the Marauder Mates book but note that they do not need to be read in sequence. This book had a really fast paced and exciting story line and the characters were defined brilliantly. The book was very humorous and had me giggling at the interactions between the characters. Another great book and highly recommend.

I loved the marauder series and this one is no different. I am loving Jave and Cyrl even from the beginning. It feels like they are here beside me, talking to me and telling me their story interspersed with humor.

I’m loving this whole series so far and this one is just as good as the others. Jave and Cyrl story is a bit different from the others because they are from different sides of the fence. Jave works for the good guys but dances outside of the law sometimes, and Cyrl is part of a criminal family and after being adopted but her uncle Ruk life was a little better with him but not always, Ruk’s son Kurr is in prison on Jurtik a place you never leave but Ruk gets his hands on a teleporter device and trades this for his son’s release but unbeknown to Ruk his son had died so now they need someone to pretend to be him and that’s what Jave does because he is a shapeshifter but not all the crew on the Penetrator know this about him so it’s his job to infiltrate Ruk’s mansion posing as his son and get the machine back and get out safely but he never expected to meet the most amazing woman that makes him want to forget why he’s there and stay with her forever. So how does it all turn out for Cyrl and himself and can they have a chance at a HEA or will there different worlds keep them apart and does he and the crew save the day.
This is a great sci-fi romance! I enjoyed it! It has action and adventure, fun characters and steamy romance,

This is book 5 in the Marauders Mates series and it doesn’t disappoint. The Penetrators are on a mission to steal back a teleportation device that has been stolen by Ruk, a Member of the 9 crime family. Jave is chosen for this task due to his shape shifting abilities – he has to masquerade as Ruk’s deceased son Kurr. Cyrl is Ruk’s niece and she is the first person he comes across in his new form, things, however, do not go as smoothly as he thought they would. This story has so much action and adventure, it’s a real page turner with some wonderfully witty writing. Loved it.

I had a hard time getting into it. I kinda zoned out all the books world explaining until it got to the fun stuff. Cyrl is a human woman. She lives with her “godfather” who is apart of organized space crime. Jave is an alien apart of a police/military group. Jave’s group has to fake out Cyrl’s godfather to get a teleportation device he stole back. It was basically love at first sight for Cyrl and Jave. It’s got space, action, gangsters and immaturity. It’s a cute read.

Just Because Its A Brilliant Idea…

The Greeks have tons of exciting stories there’s this one father creates a maze and wings from feathers and oh a son who didn’t listen.
Cyrl wanted to fly high too but she was so over the whole gilded cage thing just because its pretty doesn’t mean its acceptable.
Growing up the way she did with the family’s lifestyle especially with violence.
But she couldn’t see how Uncle Ruk could really achieve his final goals there just was no way it work.
The teleportation device was stolen during transportation possibly by the nine syndicate.
Even with all the supposed facts and this was just one more complicated assignment after all nothing could go wrong.
Cyrl knew her Uncle Ruk was no fool and should never be underestimated and what he said did have merit.
She could see something wasn’t quite right with Kurr she just couldn’t put her finger on what was different.
Jave “Kurr” the act of pretending to be someone else took delicate maneuvering to much either way and he could end up overplaying his hand.
He knew he was under suspensions by the looks he was receiving by the two people in front of him.
He just realized that he screwed up but he wasn’t quite sure how but now Jave”Kurr” needed to figure out before he made another one.
Again there was something wrong Cyrl clearly could see he looked like Kurr but she had to know.
Jave”Kurr” should have anticipate the question. Brilliant simply brilliant.
Be careful what you wish for, the situation just went nuclear in sixty seconds flat.
All this over that stupid device her Uncle had acquired was the seat of every problem.
However I’ll be gone as soon as I have the transporter in hand and on its way back to where it truly belongs.
Jave wasn’t above eating his dessert first and she was the most delicious pie ever.
There were to many variables to calculate he’d already surmised trouble would find him eventually he just needed to be ready for when it did.

I loved this story about Jave a crew member of Penetrator in the Marauder Mates series. Jave is the only member on the ship who isn’t mated and he feels left out so when General Dowron assigns Jave to impersonate Kurr a son of one of the Nine leaders, he’s looking forward to prove himself. When General Dowron wants him to show up for surgery to look like Ruff, he shows that he has the ability to shapeshift a rarity among his kind. When Jave as Kurr is given to Ruk Deveel as a exchange for the tech and Ruk reneges, his mission is now to grab the tech that is being sold to the highest bidder. But Cyrl sees thru Jave disguise but the attraction between them is sizzling. Will Cyrl tell her Uncle Ruk the truth? This is another action pack, romantic story with lovable characters with the crew of the Penetrators and Zerberu and his mate Vera appear in this story since it’s Zerberu’s tech they all want. This is another great addition in this series. I volunteer to read and review via the author and Booksprout.
I really enjoyed reading this book , it is filled with adventure, intrigue, and is action packed. The chemistry and interaction between the characters of Cyrn and Jave is wonderful. I can’t wait for more from this author. I received this book as a FREE ARC copy to read and I voluntarily leave this review.
