JasperHonor.Duty.Loyalty.Three ideals every Marine lives by, and Jasper Watkins is no different.Only he’s lost his edge. He’s failed in his duty to keep someone safe, not once, but twice, and he doesn’t know why. He blames himself and feels he’s lost the respect of the people who matter to him. To get his head on straight, he goes to ground in a little nowhere town where he won’t be found.Only … won’t be found.
Only fate throws a wrench in his plans in the form of a beautiful blonde who loves Christmas, kittens, and sassing him. He soon finds himself caught up in her secrets—secrets that may get them both killed.
Sloane
Wrong place wrong time.
If she’d just stayed in the wedding tent, she never would have seen men dumping body parts, and she’d be safe and sound in her Miami apartment putting up Christmas decorations.
Instead, she finds herself hiding at her cousin’s farm, bunking with a complete stranger who thinks he’s all that. And he is. Just don’t tell him.
The more time she spends with her unwanted housemate, the more she starts to unravel the mystery that is Jasper Watkins.
She finds herself falling fast and hard for a man who can break her heart, but he also has the ability to save her not only from the cartel, but from herself.
Christmas is a time to bring people together, and if the two of them get out of each other’s way, they might just find their own Christmas miracle.

Another great installment in the Kincaid family saga. Although Jasper is not a Kincaid by birth, he is part of their larger ‘family by choice’. Anyone who has read a book in this series knows that once the Kincaid clan claims someone as their family, they just are.
Well edited.
Jasper is struggling with what he perceives as failures. He feels like he let Kade and Angel down, not once but twice. So, he figures if he gets away from everything for a while, maybe he can understand where he went wrong and fix it. In the airport, he literally runs into Sloane. She’s on the run from a local cartel, having witnessed a body disposal. Unbeknownst to them, they are connected by Sloane’s cousin Jarrod. He and Jasper know each other from the Marines. Both are headed to Jarrod’s farm to hide from the world.
Sloane has had her share of tragedy, and is slowly able to help Jasper process his own demons. In so doing, Jasper realizes he is angry with Connor Kincaid because he survived a mission that Jasper’s brother, Henry, did not. It’s misplaced, but grieving is a hard thing to process. Meanwhile, the cartel has traced Sloane to her hideaway. She and Jasper go on the run to New York, hoping that once they reach KSI they will be safe. The cartel follows, and chaos ensues. Will Jasper and Sloane survive to have a future together?
I liked this next step in the Kincaid family story. There are appearances and mentions of most of the family. In addition, we get tidbits into Connor’s past and maybe a clue about his future. There are some serious demons there! Looking forward to much more with this family – those by blood and by choice. Enjoy!
I’m so glad we got Jasper’s story. I loved him in the other books and wanted to know more about him and his back story. Apryl did a great job with him!
I think I laughed harder reading this book then the others in the series. Jasper’s antics had me busting a gut. It had just enough anxiety inducing action and emotion prompting romantic moments. The writing is so fluid and realistic that, I honestly wanted to hunt down one of the characters and beat him within an inch of his life for his actions in the book. Favorite line: “I’m gonna keep her”.
He’s not a Kincaid by blood… Blood doesn’t make you family
Loved this book! Can be read as a stand-alone but puts more pieces of Connors story into play.
It’s never a disappointment to read any of the KSI series books! Jasper however has become one of may favorites! Pick up Jasper and you wont want to put it down. With each book I read I fall more in love with the series!
Apryl has done it again. This is another great book in the Kincaid Security Series. Jasper has issues he needs to face, instead of hard farm work he gets a spunky woman running from trouble. This is what they both need, together they face their ghosts to be strong for the other. This is a perfect Christmas gift, don’t pass this one by.
I loved this book and the characters. I have enjoyed each of the KSI books so far, and I can’t wait until the next one comes out. I hope to read Connor’s story.
Jasper and Solene meet by chance. Each running from their past. Add a dash of Christmas with a sprinkle of kittens and you have a must read that you can’t put down.
What an awesome addition to the KSI series! Jasper is sexy, witty, funny, and sweet all rolled up into one package. Sloane is the perfect mix of fiesty, sweet, and innocent to balance him out! Apryl Baker has done an excellent job bringing these characters to life!! You get sucked in and can’t stop reading! Loved it!!
This is part of the KSI series but can be read as a stand alone and honestly, it was my frist venture into this series. I am so in love and I am rushing to go back and catch the other books in the series.
Jasper needs a break. He has failed on two misions for the company and he can’t seem to get his head right. He is clinging to anger and guilty and frustrations and he just can’t focus.
Sloane is running from something she has seen, something horrible, something that might be coming for her. Can they help each other or will they just keep getting in their own way?
These characters are delightful. This story is filled with emotion, laughter, tears, joy, it’s all there. The story progressses naturaly and while it’s a fast read, I never once felt rushed. There are twists and turns and well, a whole bunch of calamity. I loved every moment and I can’t wait to read more and learn about the supporting cast. So good!
The only bad thing I can say is I wish Jasper were a Kincaid instead of just friends/business associates. He is just as hard core protective as the Kincaids are. Another great book from Apryl, I absolutely love almost all of her work so far. If you have not read this book or any other of hers you really should, she is amazing.
Jasper is actually a little different than the other KSI books in that Jasper is not actually a Kincaid.
Needing a break to regroup, Jasper takes a break from KSI and finds his true love in an unexpected place.
Well written and very likable characters – definitely needs to be on your list!
Swoon, drool, pant! Those Kincaid’s are delicious! Baker does not disappoint in her delivery. She never does. Love and highly recommend. She became one of my favorites with the ghost files, but this woman is amazingly versatile and creative. Highly recommend her and this book.
