Cora has made a mess of everything. When she ran from the tyrant who claimed her like property, she’d hoped to start a new life, not a dragon war. Now, she’s exhausted in both body and spirit. Her grand plan has led to fires, battles and an unbelievably close mate bond with the scariest dragon she’s ever met. She doesn’t want to be sharing thoughts and dreams with Jasper Drake and the demon that … demon that lives inside him, but when has the universe ever cared what she wanted?
For months, Jasper’s dragon has teetered on the edge of control as he sought to find and protect his mate. When she moves into the guesthouse of his manor, it’s exquisite torture since the same fear that drove her to hide in the wilderness keeps her from even opening the door to him. He’s determined to win her trust, but his dragon is impatient, and her wounds are deep. Sometimes he despairs of ever being the kind of mate she needs—the kind of king his people need.

A king learning to rule
What a fantastic end of a series! The story of Jasper is one that I have long anticipated. Through each book, I felt drawn to the king whose dragon seemed to control him. Jasper was a beast searching for something to complete him. He found all of that and more when he finally has Cora in his grasp. You will not be disappointed when you read this book. With each page you will find yourself drawn to these two characters and the people they are meant to love and protect. I can’t wait to read the next book by this author.
** spoiler alert ** Heavy is the head that wears the crown. Jasper is struggling to control his beast and help his people. Cora is determined to hide her dragon and stay away from men. Can Jasper protect her and his people? Will Cora learn to trust Jasper?
LOVED getting Jasper and Cora’s book. I was really excited to see in both of their heads and this book did not dissapoint. I loved seeing Cora slowly learn to trust. I loved the patience that Jasper showed! Great read!
Jasper is at the end of his rope, his family is dysfunctional, his family owned business was almost ruined, oh and his mate wants to hide from him!!!!
No wonder he drinks and wants to escape….
Cora knows she should be with Jasper, but King’s aren’t good people. She’s hiding from him and her clan, she won’t be a baby machine to produce heirs!!
Jasper maybe the King, but he has no idea how to run his court! Thank goodness for his cousin Griffin (although he thinks of his as a brother, after his father took him in)
His dragon is slowly taking over Jasper’s life, the dragon wants to escape Drake Mountain, it’s always circling, it’s always searching from something.
Until it shares the fact his mate is in the forest on his mountain, then Jasper is in sync, he needs his mate to keep his dragon from taking him over completely!
How can jasper convince Cora that they should be together? He can hardly contain his beast, it’s all going to go horribly wrong!!!
Jasper has been in all the previous books, he’s come across as really selfish, putting his cousin Griffin in danger on a daily basis.
But as the books continue you understand why his dragon is wants out.
Cora finally comes to Jasper’s home, but she’s not interested in mating, she just wants to be safe. But is she safe from Jasper? And how about her clan looking for her?
Getting to know Jasper is a slow process, he wants her now (well his dragon does) but Cora won’t be rushed. Jasper needs to use all his strength and patience to convince Cora he wants her for her.
But Cora is convinced that once Jasper knows her secret, all bets will be off.
She won’t live in a cage!!
The rogue dragons that have squatted on Drake territory are causing more trouble in their town, causing mayhem with the King and his knights, and harming the mates is the last straw!!!!
It was nice to see all the previous couples in the series.
It was fun watching Cora give Jasper the runaround.
Reading how Jasper changed from selfish to King was good. When he realises his town is in danger he has to change his ways.
I liked the series. And I had waited to read Jasper’s story.
Definitely happy to recommend this book and series.
Wonderful paranormal (Dragon shifter) romance with lots of angst. Master is the golden Dragon and as such the king of their clan. He had been very restless, destructive and unable to get along with his beast. Cora has been hiding in Jaspers mountains for months trying to figure what she really wanted out of life. Nadler and his dragon (demon) are desperate to keep Cora safe. The characters are very well developed, interesting and entertaining. This book is part of a set Aurum Court Dragons. I received a complementary copy of this book via Booksprout and chose to write a review. I look forward to reading future books by Ms. Hartley.
Spend an afternoon with this adult definition of what it means to be a good man as well as a good king. I received an ARC from BoookSprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
ARC review I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.Cora is a rare Dragon that all dragon’s want to fight for ever her own clan but king jasper is her mate that she is hiding from too which is making his Dragon have a mind of his own and making things harder.Awesome 10 star
Jasper and Cora
The book was worth the wait even if the wait was short.
I am kind of sad that this is the end and the Drake series. Hoping maybe the author has something else to bring to the table about this family.
Not wanting to provide any spoilers to this story is really hard. Jasper’s dragon has been out of control for a long time except were no one knows his dragon is like a separate entity they call the “demon.”.
Coral will have to make some strong choices if she hopes to have a life of her own. one of the biggest things she will have to do is to learn to trust and we all know that’s easier said than done.
Having read this story I laughed, I sympathized, and on occasion wished harm on some dragons. If that is not the making of a good book to read I would recommend picking up this series.

Excellent Dragon Romance!
Wow! What an engaging adventure. Jasper Drake is having a tough time controlling his beast, convincing Cora she can trust him and keeping her and his Clan safe from evil Calvin who wants to enslave her. A fast paced story with plenty of suspense, fighting, family drama and sweet romance. Nice HEA. Enjoy!
I received an arc copy and am happy to leave my honest review.
This is finally about the king of dragons. Here we see Jasper finally step up as king and take the responsibility he should have taken when his father died. Although his mate, Cora has brought a war to his doorstep, his dragon finally starts to meld in with the man. I’ve liked this series, but with this story; it has finally all come together.
So, if you followed the series (which you should have) this is what we have been waiting for. Definitely not disappointed. Jasper and Cora really needed each other, even if she didn’t know it. All the family was present, questions were answered and you will see a completely true side of Jasper. Loved it! Please don’t pass on this author. Her stories rock.

This is the one I’ve been waiting for. Jasper has been fighting his beast since his father died and not doing it very well. After his cousins have rallied around to help him it has gotten a bit better. Especially now that they know his dragon was acting out because of his mate, Cora, hiding in the mountains. Cora is a very rare crystal dragon and ran from an abusive alpha wanting to possess her. Cora has seen Jasper’s beast rampaging and can hear him in her head. This terrifies her. One of my favorite parts is when Jasper’s dragon is talking to her in her dreams and she is worried he will find about her treasured scales and want to own her. Jasper’s dragon chuckles and promptly tells her he has his own, he doesn’t need hers. Once Cora moves into the guest house next to Jasper’s things get better with his dragon. There is still trouble brewing with the other dragon clan, but Jasper is trying very hard to show a better side of himself to Cora. I thought Griffin was my favorite until I read this one. I requested an advanced reader copy from Booksprout and am under no obligation to leave this review.
A really good shifter romance.
Jasper has been the topic of discussion for his family and his hometown for a while now but he’s finally getting his story with Cora. As the King of the dragons, Jasper is a metallic gold dragon who has been tortured by his other side all his life. They aren’t the typical shifter with a personality that is somewhat dormant or relaxed. Jasper’s dragon is his own being and takes over every chance he can to the shame and fear of Jasper and his family. But what hasn’t been helping is the reality that Cora, his mate, is hiding from him and he doesn’t understand why. Cora has her reasons but they are going to have to work together if they want to stop a war between the dragons.
This is the fifth and last book in the Aurum Court Dragons series and it deals with the leftover threads from the other books. It really shouldn’t be read as a standalone as they are all interwoven and refer back to each other. But it is an amazing series!

Cora grew up knowing she would be a dragon wife to someone. She hated it. She could not cook keep house or any of the things she was to know. She was told that she would be Cal’s mate and she hated him even more. So she finely escaped. She found out that she ran right to her mate and had no idea that he even exist plus his’ dragon scared her. It has been a long hard and dangerous trip. Very good story and plot. I loved it.
