I was given a copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.
I fell in love with this book. I stayed up half the night to finish it because I had to know what happened next. I love how the Author took the time to develop the characters, they back stories and connected them all together. She did a great job with weaving the flash backs into the story so it flowed evenly. This book was filled with love, friendship, devotion to family, and adventure.
I can’t wait to read the next book.

Sometimes toads can turn into princes…and princes turn into worse than toads..and this awesome book can show us how patience, perseverance, love and protection can win the game. And Jason will do everything he can to protect and love Julie from the evilness she didn’t know. Loved it!!

I really liked that both Julie and Jason shared their own point of views. Although I liked both of the main characters, I do have to say that it has a pretty slow start to the book. It does take the time to build a pretty good foundation of their lives and their families. Jason’s family is one that I liked. Still, I found the pace slower than I generally like. It’s not until about 50% on my kindle before I felt like much was starting to happen.
Her brother Charlie adds quite a bit when he finally has the ability to share what he’s held to himself for so long. His sister Julie loves him but because her ex- Billy was so charming, she had a hard time believing he was so untrustworthy. And she trusted him for years even though he dumped her. But painful things begin to come to more light. The danger also begins to ramp up more. It all comes to an even more dangerous conclusion but with the “good guys” winning in the end. Jason and Julie get their well deserved H.E.A. I just wished I had liked it more. For me it just felt like it was missing something.

Julie Armstrong had to step up to the plate to become her 17 year old brother’s guardian. To make ends meet, she owns and operates a food truck.
In high school, Julie’s best friends were Lauren and Josh. Josh King is one of three brothers. When Josh introduces the two girls to his brothers, Julie’s impression is that Jason is a bully. Later, Billy, a friend of Jason’s approaches her and asks her out. Billy becomes her high school sweetheart, and she hopes they’ll marry.
Jason King, knows that Julie thinks of him nothing more than an annoyance, but that doesn’t stop him from trying to be there for her and her brother. When Billy and Jason have a falling out, and Billy leaves, Julie blames Jason.
When Julie is accosted by dangerous men, it is Jason that runs to her rescue. When Jarod King, the sheriff, informs that Julie is not to be left alone, Jason pushes his way into her life. Little by little, Julie starts to rely on Jason and see him in a different light.
I loved the story and quickly became immersed in it. Sometimes, we want to hold on to something because we want it to be true, and overlook the obvious.
