Two years ago, I committed a terrible crime. But now I’ve got a chance to build a new life and attempt to become a better man and a better wolf. Every single day I’ve been haunted by guilt, regretting the way I hurt my sister and how I followed the brutal ideals of my old pack. But now that I’ve been let out of prison, I have a second chance. I’m not going to waste it. The town of Gayling, Alaska …
The town of Gayling, Alaska is far away from my old life. It’s the perfect place to start anew…as long as I stay away from its nightmare of an alpha.
My plan is simple: Keep my head down and focus on my new life.
But then I meet Carrie.
She’s beautiful, tough as nails, and unfailingly kind.
A man like me could only hurt a woman like Carrie.
But Grayling’s too small to stay away for long…and some women just can’t be resisted.

What a great book in the Quinton Shifters series! Abi has given us a book with a story and characters that will grab you and pull you in to their world from the first page. I loved this book.
From reading the other books, you get to know Jason. You don’t like him much. But time in prison makes him realize how wrong he was, what a bad person he’d had become, and how much he needed to change. His remorse is real. But no one can punish you like you can punish yourself. Atonement takes on many forms, as does self- worth. Finding your fated mate is supposed to bring you joy. But how can you have not if you don’t feel you deserve it?
Carrie has been forced to fight to pay off her father’s debts . And she’s good at it, undefeated. Finding that a lone wolf, broody, and rough, is her mate has her reeling.
The sparks fly between them. They will have to fight for what is right. Fight for their mating. Fight for not only their family, but their entire town. This bumpy road will lead to HEA, but not easily. You’re going to love this book!
This book contains adult themes and language, steamy sex, violence, and is intended for mature readers only.
This is an amazing box set. There are 4 brothers who all meet their mate while battling the same thing. Their mates are different in some ways but all equally matched with their mate. There are other family members and friends involved. There is also 2 other people’s stories added after the brothers. It makes a box set of great stories you just can’t put down. Best one I have read in awhile. It is exciting, entertaining, hot and steamy, suspenseful, dramatic and so much more. I ran a gamut of emotions like crying, laughing and so on. I consider this box set a must read.
Jason’s Mate
Good Book
I love the authors work and I loved the series but for some reason this book just didn’t quite come up to the level of quality I’ve come to expect of her books. It was a good book but I can’t give it its usual five star rating I gave it 4 stars. He was the brother of Alice,, Micha’s Mate in that book he had broke out of shifter prison and went to see Alice at the bookstore. In this book he was a model prisoner who didn’t want to be released from prison. He was deeply remorseful of his wrongdoings. He ended up in this small shanty town in Alaska where he eventually took down the dirty alpha of the pack. Jason did this to save his mate and the rest of the townsfolk because the dirty Alpha was blackmailing them into cage fighting, he was also killing people for sport. The book has a twist at the end you don’t expect because judging by Jason’s previous actions you would expect his act of taking down the dirty alpha to be in order to become the next leader but he turns it down in favor of his mate who he says is the rightful alpha. He also writes a letter of apology to his sister as his mate encouraged
Jeb’s Mate is book number five in The Quinton Shifter series and is about Jeb and Shelly. Jeb and Shelly have completely opposite personalities but they are perfect for each other. Loved that Shelly is a shy nerd and Jeb an outgoing shifter. Overall a well written shifter romance with great characters and a good ending.
A great continuation of this series by Abigail Raines.
It’s easy to root for the good guys but this book shows you how Jason, a shifter raised in a brutal and evil clan, finally gets out of prison and learns how to change his ways for the better. Not only does he find happiness in a remote Alaskan town but he finds his mate.

This author’s has outdone herself, and has just totally blown my mind. This was the best in the series thus far. Her ability to take past supporting characters and bring them to the forefront in their own books is so good that I cant even begin to mention. Jason’s character has so much depth and past hardships; and Carrie is so strong that it just works with the two of them. I just loved it.

The bad boy of Hardwidge finally tells his story
It’s not a pretty story, nor is it an easy one, but Jason finally manges to tell us his story and it’s compelling.
I love the way we hear from Jason himself why he did what he did, and no he doesn’t give excuses because let’s face it nothing can excuse what he did to his sister, but he does allow us to see how he ended up in Shifter Jail and we find out if he feels remorse – and what you find out might surprise you.
I love the book, the way Jason goes on a path of personal growth (without a doctor) is inspirational, maybe there’s hope for everyone.
I love Carrie, her fighting spirit and they way she loves her family, friends and community is inspiring and so heartwarming
And i absolutely loved the ending – it was perfect x thank you for writing this book.
I am volunteering to leave a review of this book
I loved this story. I think it was well written. It is paced well also. I love that Jason gets his own happy ending, even if he started out in this series as a jerk. I enjoyed that this book took us out of Quinton and into a brand new city. I am very much hoping this continues because I love these stories.
Jason’s Mate, is another good shifter romance from Abigail Raines. As usual, the characters are well crafted making an enjoyable read. This story is loosely tied to the Tremblays of Quinton, WA.
Jason was part of the Hardwidge pack from Oregon, They were basically “wolf purists” respecting nothing or anybody, stealing what they wanted. Jason’s had lots of time to think on the things he’s done. Full of self-loathing, Jason gets an early release and decides neither Oregon or Washington is for him. So he keeps heading north till he ends up in a small fishing village where he soon finds the mate he’s not worthy of.
Fishing doesn’t pay the bills and cage fighting and heavy gambling keeps folks indebted to the Alpha Remmy, “The Company Store”.
Jason decides to enter a few fights just to help his wolf release some tension. The Ring is brutal and he finds that no matter how much you win or lose — there’s no way out once you’re in.
Carrie is paying off a large gambling debt her father rang up. The only way to make that kind of money is to fight in The Ring and win – all the time. She has no expectations of ever finding love or a mate, until the lone wolf Jason comes into town.
Carrie and Jason create all kinds of heat, sparks and steam to this story, but will they find their destiny as mates? Or, fight each other to death in The Ring?
This was a deep and moving but also a good and entertaining four star shifter romance. If you enjoy shifter romances, this story is for you.

Jason committed a terrible crime against his family and the Tremblay clan and he found that they cared more about his family than he did. Jason is in prison again for his crimes and when he is released against his will, that the adventure brings us to Grayling, Alaska where he meets Carrie the a waitress/fighter and it makes Jason nervous. Love the story line, the characters are just trying to survive life in their little part of the world. HEA. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Have you kept up with “The Quinton Shifters” series? If so, then you’ll remember Jason from the Hartwig Clan! Yeah, that’s the one. The one that was the bad guy, that betrayed is sister Alice, went against the Trembly’s and wound up in Shifter prison. I’m all for giving someone a second chance but really couldn’t see where this one would go. I didn’t think he had any redeeming qualities from what I knew of him. Until he gets out of prison and moves to a little town in Alaska and meets Carrie.
Just wow. It’s a bit of a reversal here, which is thrilling for me. Carrie is tough as nails, all Alpha. She has to be in order to fight and win every match to pay a debt and save her family.
These two will take you on a rollercoaster filled with emotion. The ups and downs of these two damaged individuals is awe inspiring and heart breaking. In my opinion, this one had all the redeeming qualities I wanted to turn me into a Jason fan. And he so deserved his own story after all this.
A well written story of Carrie and Jason and of Jason finding forgiveness I enjoyed reading. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Jason left Mulligan behind to start new and leave Alice behind, bet the memories of the abuse he did to her wont leave his mind. He decides to go the fartherst place away and ended up in Alaska. While trying to figure out how to live and be more a human than the wolfe Jason gets a job as a bar back and gets a tiny apartment. Curiosity get the best of him with The Ring and became part of it not knowing what he was getting into. While Carrie is the undefeated and the draw to each they have Carrie is slowly making Jason see and feel differently about himself. In the end Carrie and Jason both get the HEA.
Jason’s Mate by Abigail Raines is an awesome read.captivating, intriguing, intense packed with emotion, action and adventure, loved it! well written, interesting characters with great chemistry, another great book to add to the series, well done!

This was a wonderful story about Jason. Jason has spent time in shifter’s prison and comes out feeing a lot of guilt over what got him put there. While trying to find a place away from everyone he finds a small town. Cassie is a fighter in this town where the alpha forces fights. Great characters and a good story! Cassie was also a fantastic character as a strong female shifter! Loved it!
Redemption and finding home
Jason’s Mate by Abigail Raines is another awesome Quinton Shifter Series read. While this book takes place well beyond and far away from Quinton and the Tremblays, these new characters and setting are just as intriguing and engaging. Carrie is fierce, protective and absolutely tough as nails. She also has a soft vulnerable side. All of these qualities match and compliment Jason, who is equally fierce and protective of everyone but himself. His vulnerability is deep and in this book we get to see the real man he is. Carrie and Jason together creates all kinds of heat and sparks adding steam to this book as well as an insta-mate situation that compounds the tension and urgency.
Overall a really well written book with an interesting plot and a great HEA for the characters as well as this new shifter community.

Jason really wanted to stay in Shifter prison because he felt he deserved to after kidnapping and terrorizing his younger sister. They both grew up under an alpha who encouraged a fairly brutal style of living, staying often in their wolves, with females mostly very subservient.
Carrie grew up in a rural village in Alaska. A series of alphas had ruled her local pack. The latest exploited the pack members via The Ring. Not only cage fighting, but heavy gambling keeps folks indebted to Alpha Remmy for as long as they survive. A different kind of brutal existence.
When Jason gets an early release, he goes north, away from the Oregon packs where his sister has found a home . Jason does well just working hard, and living in a simple set of rooms. Too much off time leads him to The Ring where he sees pretty Carrie from the bar fighting.
Carrie expects to work off a gambling debt for her father- for as long as she survives. When Carrie and Jason connect, there are many opportunities- if they can grasp and hold onto them. There may be a chance to change the future for more than just the two of them.
An awesome KU read for fans of strong women and intense yet awkward romance.

I liked the story. This story starts differently than other shifter stories, which I like. It wasn’t just a Romance but also a book about life and how your upbringing helps mold yo y into the person you become, and that you can change if you want. I loved the story and the characters were well developed. I loved the ending g.
