Meet the Blackthorne men, each one as hot, fast, and smooth as the whisky that built the family fortune, and the yachts and race cars that bear their name. From proud Scottish stock, Blackthornes never lose. But, one by one, the seven sexy men in this family are about to risk everything when they fall for strong and beautiful women who test their mettle in life…and love.JASON – Book TwoJason … Two
Jason Blackthorne wants to make films. As head of Blackthorne Entertainment, he’s finally getting his break – a gritty cop drama filmed near the family compound. He has a lot riding on the success of the series, both with family and the industry. He doesn’t have time to notice how pretty or talented his assistant is. He just needs her to jump when he says jump.
Mallory Price has tried acting, but what she really wants is to be behind the camera. She is a storyteller at heart and she knows she could direct a killer show. She has great ideas, and though Jason seems to hear her, he never sees her as anything but a Girl Friday.
But when an accident on set puts him flat on his back, and a mercurial director goes missing, Mallory steps in. Long nights at work and equal footing create sparks between Jason and Mallory. But when Jason is on his feet once again, and the director returns, has anything really changed between them? Or was it all just a dream?

So Enjoyed
Jason is one of the cousins and is trying to run the Entertainment industry section of the family. Mallory is a up and coming director but she needs a job and ends up as Jason’s assistant. But things get crazy and he depends on her more. But something heard up between them.
Jason Blackthorne is a workaholic. He is trying to film a series and problems keep persisting. He can’t seem to keep his personal assistants. Mallory Price is a greenhorn. She wants a job so bad in the film industry that she will do anything. Fortunately she gets Jason and his jumbled up brain. She can bring order to the chaos. Sparks are flying. They are both trying to ignore them but the sizzle is just to much. The cesspool of Hollywood is catching up. It is sink or swim. Oh what an ending.
Jason and Mallory book 2 in the Blackthornes series was a great read, the story was fast paced, I enjoyed how different it was from Devlin’s story that even though the Blckthornes are all family they all have completely different lives and Jason’s life took us into the entertainment world and his magical assistant Mallory was the woman behind the genius man, I have to say I worried that Mallory would be a doormat but she surprised me in a lot of ways and I think this couple will be a powerhouse together.
Jason and Mallory
Jason is living his dream by owning his own entertainment company and producing quality shows But he’s known for his disorganisation and needs someone yesterday! Mallory shows up for the interview and his life as he knows it, will never be the same
Mallory starts working for Jason as his assistant and organising his “chaos”. The closeness of their work eventually highlights the attraction and chemistry between them….but first Jason needs to stomp out all the fires surrounding their latest production dramas before they can decide what’s between them
A good story and now I’m keen to finish this series by reading Trey shortly
This is the other part of the Blackthorne business. The movie business. Jason doesn’t want to be a part of the Whisky business he wants to show that he can be good at something else. But to do that he needs Mallory’s help in so many ways. Mallory wants to prove that she can be a director even if she does have to start at the bottom. But she wants to be taken seriously. What is going to happen between these two? Will Jason realize that there is more to Mallory than what he is seeing? Will Mallory stand up for herself? I absolutely loved this one. It was a very interesting addition to this series. Every book has been good and this one shows how good this series is.
Jason by Julia London is the second book in the 7 Brides for 7 Blackthornes. It was another amazing love story in the series. Jason Blackthorne is a film maker, and head of Blackthorne Entertainment and Mallory Price is a wannabe director who takes a job as Jason’s assistant for the money. Mallory gets the job as Jason’s assistant as his last assistant is walking out the door. Mallory’s dream job is to be a director, and is hoping the job with Jason is the break she has been hoping for. Jason returns to King Harbor, Maine to film the second season of his television crime drama. Jason’s current director, Cass is looking for a way out of his contract. He is a no show for meetings and filming and Mallory picks up the slack. Jason injures his back, so Mallory needs to play nurse and director. It was a great story, filled with bittersweet moments. Love the chemistry between Jason and Mallory, and the relationships between all the Blackthornes. It was a wonderful love story that I could not put down. Looking forward to reading Ross’s story.
The second addition to the Blackthorne series is funny, cute and makes me want more, more, more of the Blackthorne family!
Mallory moved to Hollywood to fulfill her dreams. It wasn’t in acting like a lot of people who move to Hollywood, no her dream is to be behind the camera. Unfortunately, directing is just as hard to break into as acting is. Needing to make rent, Mallory applies to be a PA to Jason Blackthorne. A very disorganized Jason Blackthorne. You see the other skill set that Mallory has besides directing is being organized. She is one of those women who is color-coded, binder happy, and ten steps ahead of everyone because she is so organized. She is exactly what Jason is looking for and Mallory sees an opportunity to get her foot in the door to the directing world.
Jason Blackthorne has everything on the line for his second season of “Bad Intentions”. Not only is he filming it in his summer hometown, but his family has invested in his business and the Blackthorne name isn’t associated with failure. Unfortunately, before taping begins the star of the show is fired due sexual allegations and then the director becomes extremely difficult when it comes to pre-production planning. Just when it seems that everything is falling apart, Jason turns to the one person who has always pulled his life together, Mallory. He doesn’t know what he’d do without her and he really doesn’t want to try.
Away from the crazy of California and in the small town of King Harbor, Maine Jason and Mallory are pulled closer together than ever. They’ve always had an underlying chemistry, but once they cross a line how will things work between them? Jason obviously has connections, but does Mallory want to be known for using them? And even though Mallory has made it clear what her future goals are, she truly begins to wonder if she will ever get her chance to make her dreams come true or will she be stuck working for Jason as his PA forever?
This Blackthorne novel is full of fun and sizzling chemistry. I really hope you enjoy it as much as I did.
Jason Blackthorne desperately wants to make films and he needs a good assistant to take care of the details of production. Mallory Price takes the job because she loves film making and has lots of really good ideas. Will ambition and trust issues lead to a happy ending for Jason and Mallory? I believe that the author did a very good job with this work place romance and I am anxious to read the next story in the series.
Another great entry for the 7 Brides for 7 Blackthornes series! So many great details and Jason kept me hooked from beginning to end!
What can I say? I’m a sucker for Ms. London’s contemporaries. When I was asked if I wanted to read her newest, I was completely on board. This is the second time that Ms. London has written a book within a series of other books that are connected and I’m hooked. I bought the first series that she did and I bought this one, too.
Why? Because once I started reading Jason’s book, I just had to know what the secret is and why it has caused a riff between his aunt and uncle. It’s intriguing and we get a bit of what it MIGHT be but I don’t think that is what it is. Confused? You won’t be. I haven’t read the first book, so this one stands alone. That said, I’ve got to know about the other Blackthornes.
Jason could be your typical workaholic but beneath all of that, he’s just a man that grew up with a family of 7 boys, cousins and his own brothers and was sometimes forgotten. He found himself in watching movies, so wanting to be in the business was an easy transition for him. Too bad, it has come with some strings attached. It doesn’t get him down though. Of course, finding an assistant that can keep up with him is a problem.
Mallory is an out of work actress and filmmaker herself. Growing up with parents that are still hippies, she found her niche in the chaos by being highly organized in everything that she does. At times she wants to kill Jason for his disorganization and other times, she wants to kiss him. The attraction is deep with these two, but they fight it all the way.
Jason and Mallory are kindred spirits. Both loners in a way, but very much searching for that one person that makes them happy has been elusive. I’m happy that Ms. London didn’t bring up back relationships because it is not needed in this story. We are quickly introduced to them and Ms. London takes her time building the romance. We get to see them as colleagues and then friends. I find that refreshing that even with the trope of boss/employee, Ms. London establishes a friendship, too. They listen to each other, support each other, despite their somewhat different childhoods. Jason could have been the rich boy douche but he isn’t in this story. In fact, he doesn’t understand, at first, Mallory’s reluctance to even ride in a private plan but he soon does.
The secondary characters are great in the book. Between the douche of a director, the housekeeper, the “driver” at the airport and Fiona, his grandmother, I fell in love. Mallory’s friend Inez was a hoot but I felt like she really didn’t support Mallory in the end. Protective but nothing more.
Overall, I loved the plot of the book. The pacing is perfect and the romance is spot on. Not rushed, sexy and sweet at the same time. Not much in the way of heavy-handed angst either. Mallory grows in the story and in the end, Jason has to if he wants Mallory. *sigh* Ms. London doesn’t leave us hanging in the HEA department.
If you have never read Ms. London, pick this one up. Its Ms. London at her best.
Part of the7 Brides for7 Blackthornes series, Julia London’s “Jason” can definitely stand alone. Mallory seems to be the answer to Jason’s prayers: she keeps him and his production organized, and he needs that after running through many assistants that couldn’t keep up with hfis demands. That sounds bad, but he really is that disorganized. Mallory came to Hollywood and had found she would rather direct than act, all she needs is a break, and a job, and Personal Assistant for a producer could be just the break she needs. If only he would listen to her ideas and give her a chance, and hopefully she can get past the chemistry that is obviously there, and mutual. When what seems to be a ton of bad luck makes Jason see Mallory as more than his assistant, she realizes she has some decisions to make about her personal and professional future.
This was a fun, sweet, quick read. I really loved Mallory and Jason, and, together, they are a force that may succeed on all levels, if they give themselves the chance. There is instant chemistry, but the relationship takes longer to develop and deepen. It was a riot watching these two together, and satisfying when Jason realizes that Mallory knows what she is doing professionally.
I haven’t read the first in this series, but this is definitely one I am happy I picked up!

Jason (7 Brides for 7 Blackthornes Book 2) by Julia London This is the second book in the series and I thank Julia for letting me preview this book. Jason Blackhorns ..owner of Blackhorn Entertainment in need of an assistant Mallory Price ..director of short films who want to be a big time director.. This is where their story starts she gets him organized and she has some good ideas which he sometimes hears… there are laughs, tears, angst, frustration, family drama, some not so nice people and some steamy stuff all getting us to a very HEA and looking forward to Ross the next book in the series.
4.5 Star Review of Jason (7 Brides for 7 Blackthornes # 2) by Julia London
Julia London is a new author to me and I have no idea why I have not heard or read her before. This is the second in an exciting new series from multiple authors and is Jason and Mallory Price’s book. I was intrigued when I first read about the Blackthorne men and the dynamic surrounding their family and now having read the first two books I am more intrigued than ever.
The Blackthornes own a diverse range of businesses and Jason heads up Blackthorne Entertainment; he has trouble keeping assistants as he is disorganized and unfocused. Hiring Mallory to be his latest assistant he has hopes that she will work out. Mallory is efficient and capable and when Jason is injured she takes on the additional workload and performs efficiently.
To his surprise she is not only a great assistant but eventually he realizes that she might just be perfect for him as well.
The chemistry between Jason and Mallory builds and I loved how the relationship that built between them, particularly since they have both been burned in the past. Can these lost souls come together and embark on a bright future together or are they destined to be alone?
The characters were intriguing and there were times that I worried that Jason and Mallory s would not get the happily ever after they deserved. A well written, romantic, sweet and at times passionate read that kept my attention from the start. The characters were strong and I enjoyed Julia London’s style of writing and I was thoroughly entertained throughout my read.
Entertaining story that centers around the a TV series creation. Jason and Mallory are such perfect characters.
Their relationship starts as work but becomes so much more. Wonderful.
Yay! We get to follow the film maker in this second story of the Blackthorne brothers and cousins! We get to follow him when he is working on what should be his big break! Who is Mallory Price? Oh my, this story gets very interesting pretty quickly! When Mallory has to fly to Maine, what elephant in the room is addressed? Who is Cass? I have to say that I really didn’t care for him just 1/3 of the way into the story. Yep, really ended up not liking him. Wanted to murder him in my sleep. Glad to see Inez is not always right!!! It was good to see Jason come to his senses about several things! Read and see what happens!

Jason is book 2 in the 7 Brides for 7 Blackthornes by Julia London and a part of a series with six other amazing authors! Each is a standalone but has an underlying story that looks to connect to each new book…
Jason Blackthorne is head of Blackthorne Entertainment and finally getting the break he needs to make his new cop drama but he is so disorganized and needs an assistant who is the opposite…in comes Mallory Price. She is totally organized, efficient, had great ideas and really wants to be behind the camera.
Working together but no letting the sparks ignite is getting harder to ignore…what happens next is funny, lots of chemistry, snarky comments, learning more about the past, family and hopefully a HEA for these two…
Can’t wait for the next book in this series…Ross by Lynn Raye Harris.
Jason is the second book in the 7 Brides for 7 Blackthorns series and it makes me want some more Blackthorns! Jason runs a production company and hires Mallory as his assistant. What she really wants is to be a director. When it seams like everything is falling apart they pull together and make everything work!
This book has a wonderful storyline and fantastic characters! There was some mystery, family drama, amazing chemistry and romance!
I loved this story and I look forward to the next 7 Brides for 7 Blackthorns book!
7 Brides for 7 Blackthornes Book Two.
Mallory Price is struggling to break into the film world as a director when the perfect opportunity is dropped in her lap. She goes in to interview for the position of assistant to the owner of Blackthorne Entertainment, Jason Blackthorne. Only her roommate’s warning tells Mallory that Jason might not be the best person to work for. Mallory finds that he is messy and extremely distractable. That works for her, because she cleans up after everyone else already. However, when Jason calls her at 3:30 in the morning on her vacation to summon her to his summer home immediately, she almost loses it.
If you’re looking for a short story with drama, behind-the-scenes cinematic info and a spitfire working with a total spaz, this is the book for you!
Jason by Julia London is the second book in the 7 Brides for 7 Blackthornes series. Book one is Devlin by Barbara Freethy and it’s worth your time, too!
Jason is struggling to make his production company successful and keep his new series at the top of its game. Mallory takes the job of his assistant in hopes that this will be her “in” into the industry. When everything seems to be falling apart, can they work together to make everyone successful or will it all come crashing down?
This book was a quick, satisfying read. There’s romance, a little mystery, and family drama. While it can be read as a stand-alone book, I highly recommend starting the series before reading this one. We’re only 2 books in, so there’s not much to catch up on.
The characters were likable. I could really feel for Mallory having to keep Jason organized as he seems to have ADHD. I live in a houseful of people with ADHD and it’s truly a constant struggle to keep everything and everyone organized. But I could also sympathize with Jason for the same reason. He’s also struggling with the family pressure from his uncle that truly does seem impossible. I really liked the chemistry between these two characters. It wasn’t angsty and Mallory was not a pushover, despite her lack of experience in the business.
NICUnurse’s Rating: The writing was good and the story seemed to move along well. While it didn’t leave me thinking about or agonizing over the story for days, it did leave me will that feel-good feeling we all desire when reading romance books. It’s definitely entertaining and worth taking a shot on! I give Jason by Julia London 4 out of 5 stars!
This book is about the film industry. Jason is a producer just getting started with his production company. Mallory wants to be a director. Jason hires her as his assistant. Before long things heat up between them even with all the disasters that keep happening. Great book.
