What’s hotter than an alien with scales? An alien with wings and scales, not to mention a hot body.
At 457 Preor years old, Jarek sen Claron is a dragon ready for his final flight into the skies. This voyage to Earth as the War Master of the third fleet will be his final assignment. Once he has helped his fellow Preors secure human mates, he will return to Preor before the madness of loneliness … madness of loneliness overtakes his mind.
That all changes when he meets Melissa. Human Melissa with her sparkling eyes, bright smile, and body that would make any hot-blooded male drool. Unfortunately, she never registered as a Preor mate hopeful. No matter, the Knowing stretches between them and there is no way she can resist him. Until she does.
Jarek wishes to give her the choice to mate him, while everything inside him screams to take Melissa beneath his wing, now. No choosing necessary.
But should he draw her to his side when his enemies are circling? Many males do not believe the son of a Preor mass murderer deserves to have a mate. Can he survive the coming battles? Or will he die without tasting sweet Melissa’s lips?

This is the first book in the Dragons of Preor series. If you like sassy heroines, alpha males and some funny-ass writing, you’ll love this entire series!
Exceptional story telling and great world building! I <3 the Preor! Highly recommend!
Read this on kindle unlimited, excellent reading, actually read the second book (“Taulan”) as well since I enjoyed the first. Interesting take on dragon shifter aliens, especially enjoyed it since I’m liking books on dragon shifters & aliens Right now. 😉 I was just a bit lost with some references to Melissa’s situation with the Ujals, but not enough to put the book down. Fast paced, like-able characters, having you read non-stop. I would definitely re-read this, I enjoyed it that much. The plot is well thought out, with a happy ending, not a cliff hanger, just the need to read about the other characters.
Be the first to know
These dragons sure are off to a rough start. Attacked by humans at first contact and now an explosion. Will they ever catch a break and be able to find their true love to experience the knowing and find their HEAs? The author kept this book interesting and exciting while the dragons battled an enemy and fought for the love they traveled here for. I look forward to reading the next book in the series.
What a great start for this new series. We were introduce to the Preors in the last Ujal book. I was super excited to find out that they were getting their own book. I found this book to be real entertaining it’s fill with lots of action, it was also great to see Ujal make a cameo appearance. Melissa at first was giving me weak earthling but came out fierce in the end. Overall a goodreads looking forward to see what else in store for this series.
Weredragons who are also aliens and a romance on top. Was easy to read until the end.
Really love all the books in this series. Hot dragons? Insta-love? Lovable female leads? Check, check, and check.
Enjoyed reading this book, it has a great storyline. Can’t wait for more from this author.
I like the characters.
Enjoyed reading the book.
A generally good story, if you ignore certain problems with physics and biology as required for suspension of disbelief.
Best enjoyed if you read all three books . Well worth the time.
Interesting plot and character building. Enjoyable read.
Totally different setting compared to other books I’ve read!
I love love love this book. This hero, who is on the verge of going crazy because he hasn’t had a mate, and expects himself not to survive a final mission bestowed upon him; one to see that sees his kinds survival. But this well-deserving of love hero gets a chance after all, question is, will he take it?
He is only supposed to be helping others find mates. After that he is supposed to go home and the madness from loneliness will take over. But he meets Melissa and knows she is the one. But even though she is drawn to him she doubts things and pulls away until things turn dire and things become clearer. I loved this. Well written and highly recommended. Love this author. I received a review copy and voluntarily review it.
Celia does it again and never disappoints. You can read about the Preor’s arrival on earth in DASHING THROUGH THE STARS before this book if you want too but it is not needed.
What a wonderful new alien species we have to love.
In this new series by Celia Kyle we are introduced to the Preor, an alien race of dragon shifters with a slight difference, their wings remain visible.
They have come to earth to find human females who could be mates for them.
As we already have the Ujal living on earth for the same reason this causes no hardship for humans. But as is true in most races no matter where we come from, there are those who hate change, are evil and just plain no good. This time it happens to be some of the Preor who are against taking mates and believe diluting their genetics is wrong. Dying out as a race does not seem like a good idea either to me but what can you say to those who are prejudiced.
Our hero in this case is Jarek, the son of the head scientist of Preor. His sire was the cause of females and children being murdered on their home planet and therefore causing the Preor to have to search other planets for mates. This of course has impacted on Jarek since he was a very young boy. The sins of the father.
Jarek is the War Master of the third fleet and has worked extremely hard and long and earned every one of his years of service to the Preor trying to keep himself free from his father’s taint.
He is not supposed to find a mate as he is unworthy according to the council, but the first human female he meets is HIS.
Melissa has her brother’s betrayal of the Ujal in her past and like Jarek is trying to atone for sins that are not hers.
What follows is a wonderful story of hope, want and typical male stubbornness when they are injured.
If you enjoy hot stubborn alien men with big hearts paired with women of courage and passion, then you will enjoy this new series.
This book is well written combining both the Ujal and introducing the Preor. You can read this and be happy but to get the best enjoyment it would be a good idea to have read The Ujal books first.
This is my honest review of this book.
Did not care for Melissa. Loved Jarek.
Couldn’t get through it. Superficial characters with no chemistry.
It’s a nice, quick read paced quickly enough to keep the reader interested and detailed enough to have a great mental image of everything.
